“Paradise”

Reviewed 3 May 2011

Had so much fun. Loved the sunsets at nearby beach. Truly a Christmas that will live in our memories for years.House is very functional. Decor is understated but fits. Garden is paradise.

“Country home near surfers haven”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2011

Enjoyable stay at Hermosa. The house is far enough away from the hustle and bustle and close enough to walk to the beach. The rear patio is expansive and had views that made me want to retire... lots of wild plants and birds to observe. The bedrooms are separated by the common space and good size. Hot water was limited, but if showers were spread apart, it was enough for a short one.

“Great place to explore Costa Rica from”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2011

This is a nice house with everything you need to be comfortable. There is a grounds keeper that takes care of the place and kills snakes when he finds them, so it is pretty safe. The location is really beautiful, and the backyard looks out into the jungle. The only real downside is the distance from town, which means you will want to rent a car if you are staying here. That said, you will see a lot more if you have your own transportation anyway.

“as tranquilo as it gets”

I've been to Costa Rica six times, been up and down both its Caribbean and Pacific coasts. I can easily say this property is in a league of its own. Not your typical gaudy american-ized vacation mansion, this property is instead your home away from home. Nestled up against a mountain-side on a quiet road one kilometer from the beach, this property offers you and your family/friends all the amenities you need to escape, unwind, relax, and feel as if you're living in Costa Rica. The owners treat you like family from the start, quickly answering all your inquires (and offering unsolicited advice and suggestions). Perfectly located near world-class surfing (Playa Hermosa), Manuel antonio National Park, and Jaco (for for city needs), this property is ideal. Absolutely wonderful.

“An awesome nine months”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2011

Wow, where to start, my fiancée and I stayed from Feb-Oct of 2009 and had the time of our lives. I was lucky enough to get a job at a local international school that enabled us to stay so long, and my fiancée became a certified yoga instructor in Montezuma (just a beautiful boat ride away from Hermosa). She began teaching yoga right down the street from the house at a local studio. She literally rode one of the house's bikes to work everyday. Due to our lengthly stay we were able to plant a huge garden right at the house. We had fresh jalepenoes, green & red peppers, cucumbers, corn, etc.The lemon, lime and papaya trees weren't quite mature while we where there but must be by now. The place is absolutely beautiful with all the wildlife literally in the huge back yard. The stream adjacent to the house keeps those scorching hot days just a touch cooler. The waterfall just ten minutes from the house is like out of a magazine. Not to mention you have the Pacific Ocean with world renowned surf, a gorgeous beach and awesome restaurants just a short bike ride away. Jaco a ten minute drive up the coast has all the amenities one could desire, with elegant restaurants, shops and all the tourists activities that come with a tropical beach town. We drove down to Panama about five hours south along the coast twice. It is a very easy country to travel in and the locals are wonderful. We are getting married soon and are planning an extended honeymoon back at the house. To all that get the opportunity to travel down to Casa Escondido (the hidden house) take it!

“You can hear the waves”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2011

My family and I spent 10 days in Feb 2009 and 1 month in June 2009 at this clean, simple beautifully landscaped home. The furninshings were simple and very adequate. There is everything needed to make from smoothies to nice dinners. The waves can be heard at night, the birds swoop down and around the property, the walks throught the teak forest to the waterfall is 5 minutes away and the gorgeous black sand beaches are under a mile walk down the street. The small town of Jaco is a 5 minture drive and has every kind of shop and restaraunt you could want. If you would like to stay local the open air restaraunts and cafes are down the street right on the incredible surf!! The neighbors are wonderful and there is a yoga studio 5 houses down the street. Spending time in the hammocks is delghtful to say the least. Our family will spend many hours in this home in the future!!

“Paradise!”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2011

I stayed in Playa Hermosa for the fist two months of 2011, it was incredible! The house is incredibly clean and the gardens on the property are beautiful. With a full, comfortable kitchen, I saved a ton of money by cooking my meals at home a quick walk to the beach provided me with hours of perfect surf and some excellent naps... you would be a fool not to rent this house for a week or a month. Do it.
