Description

Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins is just a 10 minute drive from Starved Rock State Park and even closer to Matthiessen State Park. We are situated on 65 quiet, wooded property on a bluff above the Vermilion River. Our cabins are nicely spaced to give everyone a sense of privacy. You will not find another rental in this area that will provide you the getaway experience we offer here.

It is a peace a quiet getaway we offer our guests here at Kishauwau Cabins. We are not opposed to people having a good time but expect everyone to respect the noise level here for all guests on property. A couple must be a minimum age of 21 years old to rent with us. With a friends gathering, everyone in the group must be a minimum age of 28 years old to rent with us. So when it's a group of couples, the friends gathering age requirement applies. We cater to large family reunions here also with several sizes of cabins to choose from. Illini cabin is our only 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cabin and it sleeps up to 6 people. This cabin offers a queen bed in each bedroom and 2 fold out futons in the living space. No animals allowed at this cabin. All cabins here have full kitchens, personal outdoor bonfire pits with picnic table & charcoal grill. Each cabin has central air and are furnace heated, although this also has a wood stove which makes it cozy for winter months. You do not have to use the wood stove.

Make Kishauwau your Illinois cabin rental go to spot. Private luxury cabins with beautiful, secluded surroundings. We also have 4 dog friendly cabins on site. Your vacation is what you make it, and all the ingredients are here.

Be prepared to disconnect as our property is quite wooded so it disconnects you a bit from technology. I do keep one of our phones out in the office for guests to use if they have no cell reception.

Queen-size beds with cozy quilts, wood-burning stoves and fully-equipped kitchens with microwave ovens and your own personal outdoor bonfire pit are some of the many amenities. All linens and cooking utensils are provided. All our cabins have central heating and air conditioning.

Getting around

Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins is off the beaten path so plan on having your travel arranged. You almost need to come in a vehicle as most of the cab companies are going to charge a minimum of at least $35 to take you one way to even the close by destinations.

Interaction with guest

I (Terisa) or my niece Brittany are the people you will speak with here. My husband and I are the owners & live right here on property with our family. Kishauwau is family built and has been in operation for over 30 yrs. We are here for our guests needs but leave you alone once you check in to give you that well deserved getaway you've been looking for. It depends on when you check in as to whether you speak with me or not. If I am not personally checking you in, everything will be pre-arranged so that your check in goes smooth. We are always happy to give insights on area dining and activities.

Here at Kishauwau Cabins we strive to provide our guests with an experience of a forgotten time. We are firm with our policies on offering our guests a tranquil, quiet getaway. We enjoy hearing families & friends out during daytime hours having a good time within reason but expect noise levels to always be kept considerate for neighboring cabins. We do not cater to bachelor/bachelorette groups or spring break/prom groups. Friends gatherings require all in the group to be a min. of 28 yrs. old.

If Terisa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
