Very Good

“Clean, bright, conveniently located and free of clutter! True to”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

My husband and I stayed 2 nights. I'm a tough critic and was impressed with the cleanliness, really comfy bed, good towels and, for once, excellent bedside reading lights. I always cook our morning/evening meals and travel with my own knives/pots so can't attest to quality of supplied items. However, they appeared in good shape. I liked that counter and bedside table surfaces were available for the traveller to use and not covered in junky "decorative" items. Apartment walls appeared recently painted, and there is no carpeting (other than on the stairs leading up to the unit)--great for anyone with allergies. The one lounging area is part of the larger bedroom, which was okay for us since we were only two. This apartment feels quite spacious and is not furnished with unsold garage sale items which, sadly, is often the case. There is no closet in the larger bedroom, again not an issue for two people. As a woman who wears makeup, my only criticism is the bathroom lighting. I couldn't see a thing in there, even on a sunny day. The over-mirror lighting points up. Fortunately, with my trusty travel mirror, I set up a little station near a bright window. A wall-mounted magnifying mirror would also be great in the bathroom. There is construction on the street in front of the house--not an issue for us on the weekend. Apparently it affects land line phone service. We left a message regarding some lightbulbs being out but owners weren't able to remedy because they didn't get message until late on the second night of our stay. However, they were right over to see us when they did receive the message, so they're very good about responding once a problem is known to them. Recommend this apartment without hesitation. We travel a lot & primarily stay in apt-style accommodation. It is not a luxury apartment but has good quality features & there's a lovely little deck off kitchen that we didn't get to use due to cool weather. Walk to all the shops & restaurants in 10 minutes.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments and are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Nancy

“Perfect getaway place!!”

Just got back from Niagara on the Lake, and had a great time staying at the Findlay Suite! The accommodations were perfect! The apartment was spotless, and made you feel as though you were staying at a very nice hotel (with the bonus of having a kitchen!). Walking distance to town and biking distance to the vineyards, the location was great. It was just right for two couples and we would definitely come back.

Response from the owner We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure having you and we would love to see you again. Nancy & Doug

“Immaculate and perfect in every way!!!”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2012

After a long drive trough busy Toronto/Burlington/Hamilton on a Friday evening we arrived at the wonderful suite. We recieved a very warm welcome. The Findlays had thought of everything! Even childrens books for our 3 and 4 year olds! The welcome basket of goodies was the icing on the cake. The beds are incredible... the bedding is luxurious, everything felt brand new. It is very private and convenient. The location was perfect for us.. 8 minute walk to the main street which was perfect as it can get very busy at times but we felt nestled away in a private part of the town yet very central. At the very bottom of simcoe street is a beautiful golf links club with lovely views of the lake and even over the border th the States. A Tim Hortens is a moments walk away. There is also a bike hire shop near by too. The area is on the flat ad is perfect for long walks or cycling. We crossed the Border for outlet shopping and american Niagara views 4 times with ease from here.

Response from the owner It was a pleasure to have you and your family. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for leaving the suite in such a tidy condition. You are welcome back at any time. Nancy and Doug

“awesome stay”

I would like to say thank you for a wonderful stay. My two friends and I really enjoyed your place. The apt is very clean, comfortable and everything we needed was there. We loved sitting on the balcony in the sun and your gardens are beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely stay again. The location is a short walk to downtown, great for doing wine tours and parking is a bonus too. Thanks again and im looking forward to coming back soon!

Response from the owner We're glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to have you. We think you have the record for number of wineries visited in one weekend. Thanks for your comments and we hope to see you again. Nancy & Doug

“Very Private! Very Clean and Comfortable!”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2011

My husband and I enjoyed our Easter weekend at the Findlay Suite. Very private, quiet, clean and comfortable. Nancy and Doug thought of all the little touches, including a welcoming Easter basket, to make our stay special. We cooked all our meals in the spacious kitchen and sipped our wine on the balcony looking out over the back garden. Felt like our own little apartment. We look forward to staying again!

Response from the owner It was great having you here. Glad you enjoyed your stay in the suite. You are the perfect guests and we look forward to seeing you again. Nancy & Doug

“Notl, theatre, shopping, bridge and a great night's sleep!”

Thank you, Nancy, for a lovely stay in Findlay Suite last weekend. We enjoyed a wonderful and restful night in our own private accommodation. The apartment was immaculate, well equipped and we appreciated the on site private parking. We also found the Bridge Centre in St. Catharines a friendly and welcoming club for visitors.

Response from the owner You are very welcome. We are glad you enjoyed the apartment and that the Bridge Club worked out. We hope to see you again. Nancy

We had a great stay in this apartment, perfect for two couples, and a great price. It's just as it was shown on the website...clean, private and very comfortable. It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Can't go wrong here!

“Clean, comfortable and very well located”

We had a fantastic time in Niagara on the lake and this was partly because of our stay at the Findlay Suite. As the pictures suggest, this place is immaculate. Every room is spotless and spacious. The kitchen is self contained and has all the appliances you need to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. This turned out to be nice as Notl can get expensive. The two bedrooms are a nice size and both beds are very comfortable. There is satellite T.V. in both rooms which was also a very nice touch for the night we wanted to relax in the apartment after a day of walking. The apartment has its own entrance, separate from the owner's residence which makes it very private. A short walk will take you right into the heart of downtown Notl. Overall, I would highly recommend the Findlay Suite and will return when we go back to Niagara on the lake.
