“Perfect”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

This cottage was perfect for our 5 day trip to PEI. It is a beautiful cottage on a lovely property that is secluded and quiet. The cottage is well-maintained, spacious, and it has everything that one could want in a cottage - plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, linens, comfortable beds. It is in one of the most beautiful parts of PEI, close to Cavendish, lovely beaches, close to Charlottetown. It is centrally located, and we were able to day trip the entire island easily from here. The hosts gave us great tips on cooking lobster, local cultural events, and their advice really added to the enjoyment of our trip. Nearby is a small fish shop called Richards that has the most excellent fish and chips and mussels. We bought lobster from the fishing boats there, which was a highlight for us. We would definitely stay here again.

“good location, spacious and great condition cottage”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2013

This cottage is in much newer condition than the pictures convey. The furnishing, appliances, many finishes are new. This place is also bigger than it looks on the outside. There is a deck, large sunscreened porch and sunroom. We picked this place because it's a 3bd room, compared to many others that are just 2 bedrooms. The living room and kitchen are great size too. Location is good, quiet, treed lot, close to PEI national park (Stanhope). Overall, stanhope is a great central location, can easily go east to Greenwich, or west to Cavendish, along scenic coast. Owners were very friendly and helpful, accommodated our baby and early arrival. The large livingroom is good for courious baby. The shower is a bit weak, but it's not a problem. It's actually a better shower than what we had in Rodd Charlottown. Bed is nice and firm.

“our home away from home”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2013

We rented Spruce cottage for one week and loved it! There was a charming homey feel and everything that we could need. The sun porch was the most used room in the house, spending all day from early morning till late into the night around the table. Brenda and Larry were so easy to work with and accomodating, answering all our silly questions. We found the location to be ideal, as we planned on touring the Cavendish/Anne of Green Gables side of the island. The absolute best part was the beautiful beach, only a short walk away. Our 2 year old said it best when she said "I want stay here long time". We are planning another trip to the Island and hope to spend our time at Butler's Cottages again.

“The Three C's ---Cozy...Cute...and Comfortable !!!”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2011

We really didn't know what to expect. But this is one of the cutest cottages "its not a man cave" but a home away from home. Brenda and Larry are the most gracious owners. The things that really stand out is the kitchen..Everything is there. Every pot,pan,dish..utensils..Awesome BBQ grill!! Washer, dryer. And if you forgot it ...you didn't need it! Plus,if any one needs a get-away, you are at one of the most beautiful places to stop and smell the roses!!!

“Great spot!”

Great cottage with everything you need, thoughtful, attentive owners, and close to the beach. Reasonably priced. I will stay here again.

“Perfect for our stay in PEI!”

Absolutely loved our stay at Butler's Cottages. Great location (so close to a gorgeous beach), clean, comfortable and stocked with everything needed (kitchen, towels etc)... and, great rate per night. Would definitely stay here again.

“The cottage was a clean and comfortable setting.”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2011

We enjoyed the "rustic" feel of the pine cottage but appreciated the modern amenities. Having a washer and dryer available were great. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate and the "living room" was comfortable and cozy. The cottage was clean and kept up nicely. Nothing looked neglected. The beach was within easy walking distance by following a foot path. We had a great week of weather and were able to explore most of the island. Thank you, Brenda.

“Spruce cottage is lovely.”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Spruce cottage. Our family (2 adults, 2 under 5's) arrived in the off season so many of the touristy parts in the Stanhope area were closed (no worries though, we still found plenty to do), location was convenient to many key areas. The cottage is comfortable, huge yard and play area for kids as well as close to the beach. Brenda brought over toys for our kids which was fabulous as we came from overseas. Our only disappointment was that the VCR didn't work for us when we tried playing anne of Green Gables one night.

““Fabulous!””

Very clean, quiet, convinient for everywhere in PEI, it's a best cottage I ever used. ?????????PEI????????????????????????????????????

“Comfortable cottage in beautiful setting”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2011

We have travelled to PE for many years staying in a variety of cottages, Spruce Cottage was one of the nicest we have found to date. We enjoyed the private setting and still close to many attractions and shopping areas.
