“Vacation on the Cozumel Island with Casa Coral”
Hello my friends!! Here are some of the good memories that me and my family had when we were staying in Casa Coral-Cozumel. We had the opportunity to rent two out of the three apartments that are managed by family-owners, and we had a very good experience with the facilities. The price for the two apartments were very affordable. We had access to Wi-Fi internet, TV included in one of the apartments to watch local channels either in Spanish or English with Spanish subtitles in some channels. The person that is in charge for taking care of the property will show up during the time that we were there just in case we have any request, so you could tell right away he was very helpful for providing information or anything else that was needed. The blocks in Cozumel are not very large compared with huge cities that we have in the U.S, so pretty much everything is in walking distance, including the grocery store. The taxis are available pretty much everywhere so we did not have any problem with transportation. One of the main avenues in this area, It is just around three blocks away from the apartments, and in this avenue you can find different kinds of business such as drugstore, mini market, gas station, restaurants, Taxi station, etc.. The location is good because you have the basic services close by. Main goal for staying in this area, it was to be close to the local neighborhood, so my family could know more about the culture on the island, so staying in this apartments was the perfect fit. Thank you for everybody who was involved to make vacation to be a good experience!!! Sincerely Mr. David
“Nice place would go again, good price at the time”
I enjoyed this apartment with family of 4 members. Pool was not kept clean daily, accomodations were far and no taxis in sight, have to walk some but walking is good for you so we didn't mind much. Grocery shopping was about 4 or 5 blocks away, makes it difficult with heavy groceries to carry back but taxis are cheap. Garbage was picked up daily, the washer is dangerous and it takes forever to do your laundry no water pressure. But all in all, immediate help from owner's grandfather upon request. When we stayed in march 2012, purified water and toilet paper were not supplied. I see they have made changes. Enjoyed the night time swimming with lighted pool. Thank you ariel Liliana & Salvatore (friends of Linda)
“Great place for a great value!”
This was our 3rd trip to Cozumel, all have been in rental houses. This was definitely the best value. The living room furniture isn't the most comfortable but we didn't spend a lot of time at the house anyway. Other than that everything was great. This house is located only a few blocks from the main square in town and we walked there a few times even though we had a rental car. It's pretty close to Fratelli's, the best Italian food I've eaten at a restaurant. There is also a grocery store right around the corner, Soriana's Super, which had great prices and an awesome bakery. I wish us prices were that low! We will definitely try to stay here again on future trips!
We stayed for two weeks at Casa Coral. We came down for the ironman and wanted a place away from all the husstle of an ironman event. This place was perfect a short walk from downtown close to the market adn restraunts.Casa Coral was clean had everything we needed and the staff were around every day to make sure everything was okay and to help us if we had any questions.I would definitly return here and recomend it tto anyone
A girlfriend and I just returned from our stay at this property. We went the first week in November and had the place to ourselves. It's a 3-unit property, and we stayed in the green house, with a cable TV. The owner, Ariel, met me at the house and was the sweetest, most darling man I've met on Cozumel. As other guests reported, he and his wife brought by some guacamole in the middle of our stay. It was delicious. The house is surrounded by a lovely tropical garden -- we saw hummingbirds daily -- and a banana tree is right on the walkway leading to the pool. Very cool. The pool is really nice, as well; there are bugs, and you will spend a few minutes digging them out, but I've stayed at other condos in Cozumel and I had to do the same thing. We chose this place because it's totally affordable, and it's a 10-15 min. walk into town. It's a local neighborhood, and some travelers may be put off by that. We weren't. One day we had a rental car and could park it in the driveway, which was helpful. As two female travelers, we felt safe at all times, even walking at night, and would definitely stay here again. Six or so blocks toward town is the Guido's Tienda, and we ate here almost everyday. Delicious coffee, omelets, sandwiches and more. The condo is super close to the airport, and on my checkout ariel gave me a lift there. He is super sweet. I would definitely stay here again.
“Comfortable, clean, quiet lodging located in the 'Real' Cozumel”
My stay at Casa Coral was perfect. If you want space and are willing to get out of the tourist area for a true Cozumel experience, stay here. The owners are lively, responsive to your every need and will welcome you as though you are a guest in their home. The location is wonderful to immerse yourself in the local lifestyle yet within walking distance to the square and downtown San Miguel. I really enjoyed the private pool shared by the 2 casitas and found the 2bedroom 2 baths very spacious. Highly recommend Casa Coral for an affordable option to a cookie cutter motel experience.
i stayed here for 2 nights in april. the property is located in the town. not very difficult to locate. the owner waited at the property for me to arrive. the place is clean. the place has a nice character to it, very different from staying in a hotel. there is a pool too, i did not use. overall excellent value for money.
“Run and Tell in Cozumel”
Affordable and comfortable accommodations. A great destination for someone looking to experience the local culture. We fell in love with the local children and families. Safe, secluded location with access to shopping, groceries, local shops and restaurants. No beachfront but it didn't matter because all of the good beaches are on the opposite side of the island anyways. The units are spacious and comfortable. Having two bedrooms and bathrooms was very convenient in addition to the kitchenette, laundry facilities on site, Wifi, cable, air conditioning and pool - awesome. The independence of staying off of a resort is relaxing and perfect for laid back travellers. Everything was clean and tidy. We looked forward to the property manager ariel's visits. He was friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. His wife also brought homemade salsa and guacamole, which was a nice treat. We will definitely be back!
“This affordable property had everything needed for a comfortable”
Although it isn't on the beach, there really aren't any beaches in town. It's a 10 minute walk to the ocean and all the action. The initial impression may be a bit disappointing but after getting used to the neighbourhood and house it is fine. The people on the streets are very friendly nad never once did we feel uncomfortable walking anywhere. It is not a North american neighbourhood and that must be kept in mind. There are grocery stores and restaurants well within walking distance. A car does come in handy but we walked most of our 2 week stay. There are more than enough cabs available if the need arises. When forming an opinion of the house, keep in mind the climate. There is a bit of an issue with a musty smell but the humidity is so high it's not hard to understand. Fans, AC and open windows go a long way to help. The beds are very comfortable and there's plenty of water pressure in the showers. Not so much in the sinks! The other furniture isn't the most comfortable but it looks very authentic. Ariel Sr is a gem and checks in most days. He is very anxious to please and is thrilled to show off his ripening bananas.
This house was exactly as the photos show...clean and tidy and in a conveniant location close to grocery stores, coffee shops and a liquor store. The house is located just off of 30th ave. which is a short (10+ minute) walk to the boardwalk and all of the action (stores, markets and the ocean). The house has extremely comfortable beds, great fans and air conditioning, and lots of windows to allow in the nighttime breezes. Our kids were pleased with the pool, quite a treat after a busy day. Also, the resident pets..turtle and geckos. The yard and grounds are nicely planted and maintained with beautiful flowers, trees and plants. Having laundry facilities was a bonus!!!
