“Sweet place that feels away from it all.”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2014

Bob and Lucy have created such a comfortable, beautiful retreat! This was our second stay, and we were so happy to return. Fresh eggs from the chickens, a few sweet goats and sheep to visit, a fire pit (which we didn't use because it was rainy and too cold!), and a beautifully decorated space. It's one large room, but it's planned in such a way that there is plenty of space for two people to spread out and lounge and cook. It's outside of Santa Rosa, so it feels like you're in the country, but close enough that we drove into town for several delicious meals. We will be back!

“Very peaceful and friendly”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2014

My husband and I spent five nights at the Wine Country Cottage. It was so quite and lovely. The hosts are helpful and generous. It's in a great location with access to many things to do. We rode our bikes on a trail from downtown Santa Rosa to Sebastopol and then again in Calistoga driving through the hills on the East Side of Santa Rosa. The cottage is very close to Bob and Lucy's home, but they are careful to provide privacy and were away several days when we were there. We would definitely recommend staying here. “Great Stay”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2013

This was a wonderful choice for our week long stay. Hosts Lucy and Bob were great - always available for questions, but not intrusive. The location is in a quiet, safe area away from the city noises and a great central location for visiting wineries in both the Napa and Sonoma areas. It is close to SF and the coast for sightseeing. Finishing an evening with a bonfire was very relaxing. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with items needed by travelers. It was comfortably furnished and we felt at home, able to relax in the evenings and the bed was perfect for a good night sleep. The kitchen was adequate to handle a dinner in, but Bob and Lucy were also great about suggesting restaurant options matching our interests. Lodging can make or break a trip - this cottage and host Bob and Lucy made our trip special! Dennis and Kathy from Iowa

“Thoughtful hosts and well-appointed accomodation”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

This was a very lovely cottage that was stocked with everything my husband and I needed for a much-needed getaway. The cottage was tastefully decorated with all of the comforts of home. If we needed something, Bob and Lucy were quick to provide it. They were personable and generous, sharing fresh vegetables from their garden, eggs from their hens, and great advice of where to enjoy great wine in the area. I can't wait to stay again, and have been sharing with all of my friends about what a wonderful time we had at the Wine Country Cottage.

“Comfortable, easy retreat”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2013

This very large studio was airy, with comfortable seating and a nice kitchen. I didn't make much use of the amenities beyond the coffee maker though as I was quite busy during the time. I received a warm welcome, and when I left something behind in the room, Lucy met a friend of mine in the area to bring it to him. Fyi the Wi-Fi was reliable. Cell service (T-Mobile) not so much.

“Serene”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2011

It was really amazing! Bob and Lucy were extremely sweet and the property was beautiful. They even have a nice selection of nice, but inexpensive wine, available for purchase in the cottage and a well-equipped kitchen. If you stay here, you'll feel like you are visiting old friends, and do take Bob up on his offer to have a bonfire! It was amazing!

“Fabulous space in an ideal location for touring wine country”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2011

Bob and Lucy provided an amazing and ideal space for my boyfriend and I while touring wine country. There was a really nice kitchen with anything you might need (creamer for coffee, garlic, olive oil) and the second morning we were there Bob knocked and offered us more fresh eggs (including a green one!!!) :) While we were a little too beat from driving around all day to make it back and make dinner, Bob had an entire guest book ready with personal suggestions of nearby eateries and their menus. They had all of the amenities labeled so it completely took the guess work out of how to turn on the tv etc. Overall it was the best place that we stayed on our vacation and would have loved to spend more time here! Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you on our next trip to Santa Rosa!

“Much more than just a cottage”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2011

Yes, I would certainly recommend this cottage to friends and family. I stayed there several times with my 2 young children and it was always great. The cottage has everything you could need to stay comfortably. I cooked full meals in the kitchen and didn't miss a thing. There are plenty of comfortable sleeping options and the property is so peaceful that sleep comes easy there. There's plenty of space for a family to spread out and play or relax. We spent some rainy weekends inside at the cottage and never felt like the place wasn't big enough. It's very clean, decorated very nicely and as I mentioned above, very peaceful. It was great for our family but I think it would be even nicer for a getaway place for a couple. Bob and Lucy are as good of hosts as you could ever ask for. They treated me and my children like family. My kids talk about Bob and Lucy more than they talk about the adventures we had while we stayed there. I like having them on the property and they took care of anything we wanted or needed. They even let my daughter help feed the animals which was always her favorite part of the stay. I don't know what else to write except that the cottage and Bob and Lucy and the entire property are wonderful and I highly recommend them all.
