“The Best Place We Stayed”
Hi Charlotte and Robin. We made it back home yesterday. We had such a great time in Nfld, but we really really loved your house and loved staying there - the breeze coming through the windows overlooking the water was so peaceful. The satellite radio made it even better. We enjoyed that house the most of all the 7 places we stayed. We really enjoyed visiting with the two of you and the other guests. Thanks for everything and for making our time so much fun. Oh - And thanks for the great breakfasts.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for leaving such a great review. Hope your well, Charlotte
“Bag to humanity,”
No hurry and no presure. Just friendly peopel and nature. To be welcomed at the most friendeley and familiar way, makes you feel at home right away. Th coastline at youre front porge and whales playing betwee the puffins and terns. A heaven fore bird- and naturelovers. One of the beste places to enjoy nature photography. Chorlotte and Robin wil make you want to come bag again and again and again...
Response from the owner Thanks Alexander for your kind words. It's not easy communicating in english when you don't speak english on a regular basis. Thanks so much for all your lovely photographs. Your photo's are spectacular and we are thankful that your are sharing them with the world. Please come back and visit us soon!
The first thing I think about when I remember my stay at the Bird Island Inn B&B; is the amazing landscape; waking up each morning to the sound of whales crashing in the bay, and the gorgeous puffins on bird island. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and relaxing, and I looked forward to breakfast every morning. The whole B&B; was inviting and made you feel at home, but at the same time, so far away in this beautiful place. Mrs. Ritman was charming, helpful and accommodating. She recommended amazing day trips and great sight-seeing in the area, and made our stay special. There wasn't anything I didn't love about my stay at the Bird Island Inn B&B.; I would definitely recommend this vacation to anyone, and can't wait to go back myself!
Response from the owner Thank you Erica for the lovely review. We would be delighted to host you again. Since your visit we have upgraded the B&B and added a beautiful effeciency unit. I'm confident that you will find our rooms and B&B as charming as it was when you visited with us in 2005. Robin has also discovered his love for kayaking so when you come again we will definitley go out to the Puffin site for a paddle. Looking forward to it...Thanks again, Charlotte
“My Stay at Bird Island Inn B and B”
Hi. I travelled to Newfoundland in august 2009 and had the pleasure of staying at Bird Island Inn B&B.; I was there for 7 nights. The Ritmans were awesome hosts. Every moring they would cook a wonderful breakfast with a bottomless cup of coffee. My room was very cozy and very clean. The views are spectacular and there is plenty to do and see in the immediate area. Bird Island is a unique place to watch the puffins and the town of Elston has a great history with the Viking root cellars. Excellent beach and hiking trails as well. I will never forget my trip to Elston and Bird Island Inn. I can't wait to go back. Al Gallant Binbrook Ontario
Response from the owner Thank you Al, We appreciate the kind words and look forward to seeing you again soon. thank you again for the cards that featured your many local pictures. We passed many on to our guests and they were very well recieved. take care, The Ritmans
“An amazing place and wonderful hosts”
From the warm welcome by Charlotte and Robin on our arrival to the glowing good-bye sunrise, we had a wonderful stay at Bird Island Inn B&B.; We were able to hike the ruggedly beautiful cliffs, learn more about Newfoundland's nature and wildlife with a wildlife interpreter, as well as, watch puffins and take as many pictures as possible. We toured the many root cellars in the area, visited the interesting town museum and walked around the picturesque little town. It was great to be able to read the many interpretive signs located throughout the area describing various aspects of the Elliston community. We were able to relax on the deck viewing the ocean and in our cozy newly renovated unit. You couldn't have asked for more attentive and friendly hosts than Charlotte and Robin. We had a wonderful holiday and highly recommend it.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for taking the time to forward your lovely review. We appreciate both your stay with us and for submitting the review. We still have your address and will definitely look you both up if we are ever in your neck of the woods. All the best, the Ritmans
“The view was breathtaking, room comfy & the staff very friendly”
I enjoyed my visit to the "root cellar" capital of the world. Great view from every turn: Bird Island, the beach, the cliffs, ocean... Food was great, room was comfortable and the staff were able to answer my questions of what was happening near by for day trips. I got to see a lot on my way to and from St. Johns as we went to every port...very scenic.
