Very Good

A lovely scenic retreat in a communal setting. The log cabin is in the grounds of a golf club. It is very comfortable with all modern conveniences. A view of the Wicklow mountains from the veranda enhances the sitting out experience and you can enjoy an BBQ there. It is a short distance to Glenmalure where there are mountain treks to suit all levels of fitness. There are many other amenities close by,such as Glendalough, Wickow town, the vale of Avoca. There's lots to see and do as well as opportunities for rest in this peaceful setting. Glenmalure lodge is good for food and craic!

Response from the owner Thank you for your wonderful review. It was much appreciated.I reckoned you would enjoy the walks and the scenery as well as the comfort of the lodge. I do hope you will return again. Regards, Angela

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Comfortable , spacious log cabin nestled in the Wicklow mountains. Plenty to do for the active and the not so active. Very relaxing week spent here, will definitely return.

Response from the owner Hi Ger, Thank you for giving such positive feedback re your stay with your family in my lodge earlier this month and great you had such lovely weather. I look forward to having you back again in the not too distant future. Regards, Angela

Wife and I visited with family friends as a base in exploring Wicklow, dealings with owner were easy and we found unit met our expectations. Ideal location for a relaxing time, just wish we lived in Ireland to visit more often. Friend has already booked this unit as a base for golfing holiday in 2014

Response from the owner Hi Dan and Sue, Thank you so much for your feedback to Flipkey/TripAdvisor re your holiday in my lodge in June. I really appreciate you taking the time to complete the questionaire. Delighted you and your friends enjoyed your holiday and got to play some golf nearby. Also delighted that your friends have already booked the lodge for next year and hope that you also will return in the not too distant future. Kindest regards, Angela

“Beautiful Lodge in the Garden of Ireland”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

We had a fabulous time here in Wicklow!! The lodge is vey spacious and comfortable with a fab log fire that heats the lodge in minutes. I cannot describe how beautiful the views are to give it the full benifit. Angela was very helpful and kindly left a lovely bottle of wine and drinks for the kids which was a very plesant surprise. We enjoy walking and the location was just fabulous we were spoiled for choice when it cames to beautiful walks for all levels. Angela also left lots of literature on walking as I told her this is what I enjoyed. The property is very romantic but is also very suitable for families, my kids lovews it!!!

Response from the owner Dear Jenny and Family, Thank you so much for the review of your stay in my lodge in February.. I very much appreciate you taking the time to do the review. I hope you will all return again when we have sunshine and and longer days. Delighted you got to do some walking, Regards, Angela (Walsh)

Lots of information for places to visited during the stay, easy to find once off the ferry. very friendly neighbours and helpful. shops and eating areas close by and very easy to get to towns to vist attractions.

Response from the owner Dear Ally, Thank you so much for your review of the lodge and your stay there with your friends in October. It was much appreciated and I hope you andyour party will return again at some future date. Thanks also for your patience around the TV! Kind regards, Angela Walsh

“A spacious and comfortable lodge in the heart of the countryside”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2012

The lodge is one of a small development set in open countryside right next to a golf course. It is spacious and comfortably furnished with the benefit of two en suite bedrooms. Checking in was straight forward with a combination lock key box next to the entry door. It was presented in a clean and tidy condition and very reasonably priced. The equipment was all one would expect in such a property and the television can be tuned to British channels. Because of the location you do need a car to get to the shops and visit the many Wicklow attractions, my personal favourites being Glendalough and Mount Usher gardens.

Response from the owner Dear Trevor, Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review of your stay at my Scandinavian Lodge this summer. I really appreciate it and continue to be very grateful to your wife for giving details re the oven and the TV so please convey my thanks to her. I hope that at some future point you will return again to Wicklow to do further exploration and of course stay at my lodge. Kind regards, Angela

“Gorgeous lodge for a perfect holiday”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2012

This was a lovely house in beautiful surroundings. It was a perfect place for the children and I to visit the gorgeous countryside on foot and horseback. At the end of busy days we returned to the house and relaxed. This is our idea of a superb holiday.

“Relaxation visit to Glenmalure”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2012

Recently I spent a very relaxing week in Glenmalure Pines, not my first and certainly not my last. The area combines quietness with beautiful scenary and yet is quite close to both Rathdrum and arklow for shops and other amenities. The Lodge is very comfortable and is well stocked with utilities for cooking. The furniture and furnishings are modern and very comfortable. I particularly love the wood-burning stove - lots of wood supplied. I recommend the lodge highly for a family or anyone else who wants a comfortable, relaxing holiday in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Response from the owner Dear Catherine, Once again thank you so much for your positive review of the lodge. I am delighted you enjoy it so much. I agree re the wood-burning stove, it makes the place so cosy. No worries about the bottle of wine! Hope you enjoyed it. Also thanks for the information regarding the remote control for the TV, Will certainly follow it up. Hope you have a good winter and,of course, that you will return to Glenmalure again. Warm regards, Angela
