“Peaceful cottage getaway”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

Had a great time here. Love the outdoor set up! Bathroom a tad small but functions great. Dvd player didn't work. The place has a lot of extras and is very cozy. Great romantic spot to stay.

“It was very peaceful and welcoming.”

Forgot your toothbrush? Don't worry, there's one there. Forgot your shaving cream? Again, not to worry. Rosemarie provided all that was needed and more. We prefer to cook our own breakfast and found that all the necessary gadgets were available. The cottage is located off the main road in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. The decor is tasteful, and the bed was very comfortable. We would not recommend this cottage to those with young children, as the steps to upstairs are narrow and winding - close to what we would call a "Jersey Winder." The cottage was perfect for the two of us and although it is advertised as sleeping up to four, it would most likely feel somewhat crowded. This, however, would not stop us from renting again and bringing along another couple! This was a lovely and relaxing place to stay.

“An Oasis By The Sea”

August 30, 2012 Dear Rose & Guy- Thank you very, very much for our wonderful stay at Periwinkle Cottage! From the beautifully decorated rooms, the most comfortable beds, soft luxurious towels and linens, convenient kitchen, TV to the lovely outdoor sitting area and garden... Omg...what a gem! It is a true delight! And the cottage is immaculate and very peaceful and tranquil. We will definitely recommend your "oasis by the sea" to our family and friends! “I found the hidden treasure!”

Periwinkle Cottages are so very special for me. I am a repeat client. On my first visit, I brought my husband for his birthday. Rose knew of the special occasion and along with the cottage being pristine, there was homemade bread, champagne and chocolate for us. We felt so special and what a treat! On my second visit I brought a high school friend who had just lost her husband. Rose knew of this as well and had all the special treats for us as well. I have been in New England for 10 years now, but my friend was from California. I tried to explain what a unique experience it was for me to stay here and she was sincerely skeptical. Once we arrive she understood. The cottage was exactly what she needed. The location is amazing. We walked to all the shops and to the beach. Rockport is a such a wonderful, unique find in New England. Being from California, Rockport is like nothing else I have experienced. The personal attention Rose gave on each occasion did not go unnoticed and honestly is so refreshing. Rockport and Periwinkle Cottages have become our favorite place to celebrate every significant occasion in our lives. I plan on celebrating my birthday there in april and can't wait. Honestly, anyone who visits Periwinkle Cottages will not be disappointed.

“Periwinkle is Picture Perfect!”

While planning an impromptu weekend getaway with my husband, I was wowed with the thoughtful amenities and impeccable care that the Periwinkle Cottage had to offer. From the moment we opened the door, we knew we would have all the comforts of home but the luxurious feel of a boutique hotel. Honestly, there wasn't a thing we needed. Best of all...it was walking distance from shops, the beach and downtown Rockport!

“Impeccable Cottage with all the amenities and perfectly located”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2014

My wife and I spent a few days here to celebrate my birthday. The cottage was pristine in every way. Comfortable, cozy, and quaint are the first 3 adjectives that come to mind when I think about our stay there. One can see that there is a lot of "pride in ownership" for Rose as she goes above and beyond to assure that her guests have what they need in creature comforts. As far as location goes you are within easy walking distance to this beautiful slice of heaven as Rockport is known for it's many art galleries, restaurants, shops and scenic views. It was the perfect stay. Thanks again Rose.

“Periwinkle Cottage is definitely a home away from home.”

Rockport is a very nice place to visit and what makes it more inviting is staying at Periwinkle Cottage. The cottage is warm and homey, we have stayed there twice since we found it and will continue to stay there when we visit the area. Reasonably priced and very clean. It is just like home The location can't be beat, it is a short walk into town, the water and places to eat. Rosemarie is a wonderful host. This is a place I would definitely recommend to others.

“Wonderful place to stay.”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2014

My husband and I have stayed in both cottages several times. We love everything about it. The owners are wonderful and we look forward to seeing them again this year. Both cottages are beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you will need. It is located close to the town and beaches. It is wonderful to spend the day in town and then walk back to the cottage for a peaceful quiet night. It feels so much like home that at the end of our stay, it is always hard to leave.I can not save enough about this wonderful cottage.

“Perfect in every way; we're going back in 2014!”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2014

First, the location was great: off-street parking, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to town shops & restaurants. The apartment was clean and stocked with supplies you don't normally find in rentals, for example ground coffee, aluminum foil and spices. The kitchen was supplied with a variety of pots, pans and everything you might need. The owners were there to welcome us and gave helpful info on local eateries (there were also many menus in the apt.). I always want a washer/dryer which was available on an alternating day basis with the adjoining rental apartment. The spiral staircase to the upstairs was initially challenging but we quickly got used to it. There was a small table/chairs outside which was perfect for eating breakfast overlooking a nicely landscaped garden.

“Best Place to Stay in Rockport”

I stayed in Unit 1 of the Periwinkle Cottage in October of 2012, an off- season time to visit Rockport, ma. Upon arrival, I was impressed. The unit was colorfully decorated, very clean and had an inspirational feeling throughout. Not one detail was overlooked--from toiletries to an assortment of proper cocktail glasses. Rose, the Unit's owner, understands the art of the home and offers this kind of experience to her guests. I was doubly impressed by Rose's use of environmentally-friendly cleaning products! Having been so delighted and inspired while staying at Periwinkle Cottage, I made the decision to rent a storefront and open a business in Rockport, ma. Because of this, I've always seen Periwinkle Cottage as an oasis and often recommend it as a "jewel" to vacationers asking for lodging recommendations. If you're looking for a cozy, well-cared for, modern, fresh, clean and friendly place to stay in Rockport, ma, Periwinkle Cottage is where you want to go. And Rose & Guy are fabulous! They're super sweet, and when it comes to bookings, responsive and communicative. Five star, for sure.
