“Unobstructed doesn't do it justice”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2013

The views from Casa Vaya Vida are truly amazing. If the water in the photos looks good, you should see it in person. Wow! And the home is warm, casual and inviting. It is really a perfect place from which to launch your island explorations. Cocktails on the 2nd floor palapa is a must. You can see both the Bay of Cancun and the Caribbean from there while sipping your Maggie in the sultry island breeze. Do it!!!

“One of the most beautiful places I've ever been!”

I don't have a bad thing to say about my trip to Isla Mujeres. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Casa Vaya Vida is un unbelievable place to stay. The owners have gone above and beyond to try to provide for those who stay in this amazing home. The views from the pool, master bedroom, and rooftop sitting area are post-card worthy. Everything was taken care of - we had transportation from the airport to the ferry, and from the ferry to the home both on arrival and departure. The golf cart rental was also taken care of before we arrived. This place is perfect for a relaxing trip - there are great restaurants, amazing places to snorkel, and fantastic beaches for just laying around. I will say there was one huge drawback...I had to come home.

“Beautiful views, lovely home, great exploring!”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2013

My stay at Casa Vaya Vida was magical! The views are breathtaking! The home itself is stunning - actually even more so than in the photos. Well appointed, sparkling clean, and with all the amenities I expected as an american. The villa is located in a beautiful, quiet area of the island - but just a short golf cart ride away is shopping, music/nightlife, art, historical sites, etc. One trip didn't give me enough time to discover all the island has to offer! And the local folks are so friendly and helpful - a real relief for someone like myself who was worried about not speaking the language. Teresa and her staff made everything so easy! The welcome package I received upon booking had tons of information that helped me know ahead of time what to expect and arrangements I needed to make in advance, etc. Anything I could have been wondering about was explained well before my travel day. If you are looking for a fantastic getaway, you simply can't do better than Casa Vaya Vida and Isla Mujeres! Thanks for letting me experience your little piece of paradise!

“Perfection in Paradise”

First of all, the entire Casa Vaya Vida team is top notch. Something very important to me when it comes to vacationing is ease of travel and leaving the stress and headaches at home. All we had to do is show up. They were waiting for us when we got off the plane, took us to the ferry with tickets in hand, and drove us straight to the house once we got on the island. They had stocked our fridge with groceries we'd requested and even had the golf cart gassed up and waiting for us. It couldn't have been easier. The staff was always ready and willing to help us however we needed, including booking a dolphin adventure for us (my wife's lifelong dream to swim with dolphins was fulfilled and it was definitely a lifetime highlight for me as well). The house itself is gorgeous and very comfortable, and feels more like a home than a sterile vacation property. The layout of the house really plays on the strengths of the location as well with windows everywhere overlooking the bay with view that you just can't believe are real. And even though my wife and I cruised all over the island in the golf cart and went to several different beaches, our favorite place on the whole island was relaxing in the pool with a glass of wine and watching the sunset over Cancun. It was truly breathtaking. The house is on the south point of the island, which was also a plus for us. If you want to go to the beach or shop downtown, just hop on the golf cart and cruise up to the north point. But for us, after a full day of sun, music, and people, it feels incredible to head back down south away from the tourists to enjoy privacy, peace, and quiet in the pool or on the roof taking in the view. Having the choice to engage or to unplug was a huge bonus. And exploring on the golf cart was one of the most fun parts of the trip. Overall, I'd highly recommend staying at Casa Vaya Vida. We literally wouldn't change one thing about our trip...aside from not staying longer.

“Beautiful Villa”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2012

I've just arrived back from spending a few days at Casa Vida Vaya and had a great time! The house is immaculate with all the mod-cons that you could need but the best part is the views. You can see the turquoise ocean stretching out before you from virtually any part of the house. The back garden and pool sit right in the middle of this beuatiful panorama. There's also plenty of other outside space with a roof terrace and a front garden. The house is situated in a quiet part of the island with a sculpture park almost next door. The island is tiny so getting "downtown" takes no time at all. If you're looking to spend some time really relaxing then I highly reccomend this place...

“Stunning”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2012

My family and I (2 girls ages 6 and 2) had such a great time at Viya Vida. A simply stunning, luxuriously appointed house with a view that can't be beat awaits you. Not only was the house perfect but everything was so organized prior to our arrival. With young kids and a late flight coming in this was such a relief for my wife and I. A gassed up golf cart was waiting in the car port, food was stocked and the rooms immaculate. It's also located on the best side of the island. You are just up the hill from Garafon Park which has zip lines, snorkeling reef, huge pool, buffet and open bar. If that's not enough you can walk to the very Southern tip (1/4 mile from the house) with your snorkeling gear in hand (quality equipment for use at the house) and drop in at one of the most breath taking locales I have seen and simply float the current down to Punta Sur about 1/2 mile down. You will see giant star fish, large and small exotic fish and the waves are minimal at best so even a novice will have no problems. If that doesn't get you excited I don't know what would. The island is only 5 miles long so getting around in the golf cart is a snap and super fun. Grocery store with everything you need is in close proximity. It really has everything you need and the sunsets on the the upper level will live with you forever. Thanks Teresa and her attentive, friendly staff for a trip of a life time!

Thank you for sharing your home with us we enjoyed every minute of it. The house is serene, relaxing, spacious and comfortable with all modern conveniences. The view of the ocean is absolutely spectacular, it was so lovely to wake up to that each day. We enjoyed the sunsets under the palapa listening the the waves. It was so good we didnt want to leave. The manager was wonderful and the car service to and from the ferry. everything went so smoothly, it couldn't have been better The island is wonderfully laidback and the locals very friendly, so beautiful and away from all the hustle bustle of Cancun.

“Perfect Vacations”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2011

We stayed in Casa Vaya Vida this November with a group of friends. The villa is perfectly located. From the roof-top terrace you can enjoy an amazing view of both Carribean and Gulf side of the island. Though it is far from the 'civilization', you can easily get to the city center, shops, restaurants etc. by taxi for 80 pesos. Also, just 5 minutes to walk there is a great restaurant on Punta Sur (open 9:00am - 4:00pm). Unfortunately, it's impossible to climb down the cliff to the water and the trails what winds along the water edge. But you can walk to the closest beach, which is located just past Garrafon Park and which boasts a very decent reef with plenty of fish including a school of huge rainbow parrots. Entrance fee is 50 pesos for a day. The villa itself is beatifully decorated and well-supplied: kitchen is large enough and well equipped, an outdoor grill, wi-fi, a laptop for guests, and even a small telescope (night sky is great on the Isla). The terrace is very large and the view is amazing - exactly like on the picture! The pool has hydro-massage (we couldn't quite figure out how the controls work but just took advantage of it while it was on) and a small sitting step, perfect to enjoy the sunset. Overall, it is a great place to relax, have fun with family and friends, or escape from everyday life. We hope to be back soon!

“Gorgeous home, relaxing location”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2011

Our family booked Casa Vaya Vida at the very last moment - literally less than twenty-four hours before arrival - because of an unexpected hurricane in the Bahamas (our planned destination). Teresa and Monica were more than accommodating: they booked our transportation from the airport to the water taxi, they were patient in dealing with the chaos and confusion of short-notice planning, and they had a golf cart and cold beer ready for us when we arrived at the house. The house itself was perfect, with an unbelievable view and in an incredible location - at the south end of Isla Mujeres, distant, but not too far, from the noises and the crowds of el centro. The view from the top is absolutely worth seeing - 360, as advertised - and an amazing lookout point for both sunrise and sunset. I definitely recommend Casa Vaya Vida for a trip with family or friends!
