The Villa is gorgeous and in the perfect location. Cvjetko and Dube were absolutely lovely and were so helpful in letting us know the basics of the city and where things are located. I only wish that we had more time to spend in Dubrovnik, it is a beautiful place. I will definitely be back and staying at this Villa again.
Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted you enjoyed your time and look forward to your booking in the future.
“Very new, clean and spacious Villa for 7 adults”
The Villa is very close to the old town and the East&West Beach club. It has everything you could need in the Villa, including free wifi, computer and printer. Everything was clean and fresh and the Villa Managers organised pick up from airport by mini van and also transfer to Hvar for us. As with anywhere in Dubrovnik, steps and hills need to be negotiated, so this Villa (and Dubrovnik) would not be suitable for very old or unfit people, the steps up to the Villa from the old town take about 10mins walk but it is worth it. All our party thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay and we will definitely be back
Response from the owner Great to know you enjoyed your stay in Dubrovnik and at Villa Antipodes. You are most welcome to return. And thank you for taking the time to write the review.
“A fantastic place to stay with a group of friends”
We are six aussie friends, who had a wonderful four days in this lovely house which is equipped with everything you need to make a perfect stay in Dubrovnik. Whether you want to stay in and laze on the lovely vine-shaded patio, whilst slow cooking a meal in the charcoal weber, or explore the old and the new towns you couldn't choose a better base. The villa is two minutes from the cable car station, and about 10 minutes into the Old Town. Public buses run from Pile Gate into the new part of the city regularly too. Our local property managers, Dube and her husband Cjvetko, did everything to help- from helping us up and down the 78 steps with our luggage, to providing great insight into local sites, restaurants and places of interest. Dube even picked us up for a big supermarket and butcher shopping expedition - thank you Dube! We just couldn't do better than our lazy evening meals on the patio! From a practical perspective the kitchen is well set up with everything you need to self-cater including basic provisions, and there is a great laundry room and clothes drying area as well. There is also a computer and phone for local calls provided by the hosts. The booking process was very straightforward. Anne and Devon have set up a wonderful website which is full of helpful information, not only about their villa, but about the surrounding area too. We would highly recommend Villa antipodes to friends and family.
Response from the owner Glad you enjoyed your stay. Come again!
“Wonderful holiday in Dubrovnik”
Wow what a truely amazing place Dubrovnik is, we were blown away with its beauty - its certainly a must see place to add to your holiday wish list. Villa antipodes is a beautiful villa very stylish with all your home comforts, only down side for some people would be the stairs to access the villa - for us it was great, gave us the much needed exercise for all the ice-creams we consumed but for anyone elderly or infirm it would be a difficult place to access. However the upside to claiming all those stairs is the view.. Amazing, well worth all the effort. Overall we had a fantastic holiday, plenty to do & see, brilliant support if you need it from the property managers, Dube & Cvjetko (lovely helpful people) and would recommend Villa antipodes to anyone & everyone.
Response from the owner Thank you for your kind comments. We put a lot of time and energy into redesigning and choosing furniture and fabrics. We're delighted you were blown away by the beauty of Dubrovnik. Such a special place in the World!
Beautiful villa. Very spacious. Very well-equipped. Lovely caretaker and great location
Response from the owner Yes, Cvjetko and Dube do a great job of looking after our guests and our Property. Thank you for your comments
This house is just perfect. It is a beautiful restoration of a lovely house. Nothing too fancy but 5 star comfort. Everything has been thought about down to the provision of beach towels and the bed linen is top quality as well. The attention to detail is 1st class. In many ways it is quite simple but covers everything. The terrace is a great spot for sitting out in the evening and the kitchen is well provided. The computer and wi fi exceedingly useful to have. Also Cjvetko and his wife are on hand and available to assist in arrangements - its like having a personal assistant. Probably one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in.
Response from the owner We travel a lot too and know that the little things mean a lot. So thank you for noticing and appreciating.
We stayed in this stunning villa in July for 3 nights with our two adult daughters. The rooms are set on three levels with a bedroom and ensuite on the ground floor, beautiful living area and kitchen on the middle level and two bedrooms and lovely bathroom on the top floor. The villa is very spacious and beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the laundry has a washing machine and dryer with detergents provided. There is a computer and printer and a mobile phone that can be used for local calls. The terrace covered in grapevines is stunning with an amazing view of the old town from the balcony upstairs. Cvjetko, the manager was fantastic and went out of his way to help us. He met us at the bridge going into Dubrovnik and lead us to the free carpark that he found then drove us to the villa. There are a lot of steps but someone was waiting at the bottom to take our bags up which was a great relief! He then took us through the villa and gave us all the information we would need for a wonderful stay. Nothing was to much for him right down to rescuing our daughter who got locked in the bathroom. Thankyou so much Cvjetko for all your help. The villa is in a great location a few minutes walk down many steps to the old town, the harbour, restaurants and bars. Beach and cable car 5 minutes walk away. Loved everything about our stay but be warned about the steps as there are hundreds of them leading in and out of the old town. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a villa in Dubrovnik.
“Excellent place to stay in an amazing city”
We stayed for a week (Family of Four, plus Grandma and Granddad) and had a fantastic time! We were met from the airport and were helped with everything we could possibly need by the property manager - he even rescued us from one of the more remote beeches, when we couldn't get a taxi! The apartment is really well appointed - from a great kitchen, PC & Internet and the provision of a local phone, to stylish furniture and really comfortable beds. Dubrovnik is a great place to visit - it is both hilly and pricey, but it is also chocolate box pretty, and full of history both ancient and recent. I think we are pretty fussy when it comes to our holiday's and this was a fantastic one!
“Really a Villa”
We did stay for 5 days with 6 adults in Villa antipodes. The very comfortably equipped house offers all you may need and even more. The computer did help us to find out where to go, where to eat or what's worth to be visited. Beds where comfortably, bathrooms excellent and clean. The kitchen provides all you may need. What should be clear that this house is ot the first choice for disabled people, who cannot step up 75 steps from the point where a car will let you out. For a stay earlier in the year or in in autumn it would be an advantage if there were more possibilities of heating. Beside that little point we would recommend the location.
An exceptionally well fitted-out apartment with good bedroom and living areas as well as all necessary appliances - the best I stayed in during a six week visit to Europe. The outdoor patio and in-house computer with complimentary internet access were nice touches. The onsite representative in Dubrovnik, Cvjetko, did a thorough introduction to the apartment and made sure we were settled in. The only drawback to this apartment is the access via a steep climb and many steps and the parking, or lack thereof. However,I was made aware of these problems before arriving and they become insignificant when reflecting upon the overall experience.
