“Home from Home”
Having being bought up in the aberystwyth area it was a challenge to find somewhere to stay that satisfied my need to see the sea but also the mountains. Primrose Cottage is the best of both worlds and the cottage itself is just charming. We had a great welcome on our arrival into the cottage finding a tea tray laid out for us in the kitchen. It was a joy to discover all the rooms and then to settle in front of the fire where we stayed for the most part of a week. Despite our great talk of walking and exploring it was a real wrench to drag ourselves out of the cottage. It really was a home away from home.
“19th-26th July 2013. A week so treasured that we immediately boo”
We made a late booking for ourselves, my daughter and son-in-law together with their four children. Any trepidations were soon dispelled upon our arrival. A wonderfully warm and friendly reception accompanied by tea, welsh cakes and a fresh ginger cake for out consumption, set the tone for what was to be a wonderful week. The cottage is superb, well equipped and beautifully located. There are views out across pristine countryside to the estuary and sea beyond. Beaches are just minutes away and Snowdonia national park is easily accessible for walks and pick nicks. There is good pub fare available in Tal-y-bont and a convenience store. Aberystwyth, with it's supermarkets,is a ten minutes to fifteen minute journey. The local beaches are vast with abundant sand dunes that my grandchildren loved. With so much natural beauty in the area we are all looking forward to our next visit. David & Britta Thomas San Diego, California.
“Unforgettable stay at Primrose Cottage”
Primrose Cottage is a home where you arrive thinking, "Wow!". It is beautiful, peaceful and immaculately maintained. Only a short drive to beaches and services. The furnishings and inclusions are luxurious and made us feel very special indeed! We have recommended to friends already, and we hope to return for another stay in future.
The cottage is absolutely lovely. We were a party of 5 and there was plenty of room. We visted over the Christmas holidays and the cottage was fully equipped for the preparation and consumption of a full Christmas dinner. The weather was not brillant but the cottage more than made up for that.
“Lovely Relaxing Holiday”
Primrose Cottage is a beautiful old family home which has been furnished to a very high standard. It is very cosy inside and has ample room for sleeping up to eight people. The well maintained gardens offer a BBQ area and there are stunning views of the local countryside. The large family kitchen provides an ideal place for entertaining. There are many places of interest to visit by car and the nearest beach is just 4 miles away. It was just wonderful to have a day out then return to such a welcoming residence. We are so looking forward to staying again this year.
“Beautiful location, fantastic cottage, wonderful relaxing place”
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage, everything is there which you could possibly need. The garden is perfect for sitting out in and enjoying the view whilst enjoying the peace and quiet. The binoculars left in the dining area are great to see the birds - amazing kites. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped. There is a travel cot and booster seat for little ones. There is so much to do around the area from the small towns to explore such as Machynlyth, New Quay (there are boat trips from there) Aberdovey (which can be seen from the window across the estuary)Aberaeron to the larger town of aberystwyth. There are steam trains to go on, beaches to explore and the red Kite feeding place is amazing. There are plenty of goopd restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook, between the cottage and aberystwyth there was a pub which did a fantastic Sunday lunch which was very reasonable. Although relatively remote the cottage is still within easy access of shops etc for provisions. Primrose Cottage comes very highly recommended from us all - aged 2 to 50!
“A delightful cottage”
A good mix of traditional and modern, with a very well equipped kitchen. The cottage was clean and comfortable with lovely views and a very pleasant garden, which made this a great place to relax.
