“All you could want”

Reviewed 31 May 2017

Just spent a few days at Honeysuckle cottage. The cottage has all you could want for time spent in Castleton. We have used many self catering places over the years and this is one we are happy to return to. Small things such ascleaning equipment and teabags and milk make all the difference. Of course the no hassle parking is an added bonus.

Response from the owner Thank you for your comments; I hope that you will visit the Peak District again sometime. Regards Maura Ward

“very enjoyable”

We stayed at Honeysuckle Cottage for a long weekend in October. Had good weather. Cottage is comfortable Castleton is a great base for walkers. As we took our Lab dog with us the fact that nearly all pubs and many of the shops were dog friendly a great bonus.

“It was amazing”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2011

We stayed at Hineysuckle cottage last year with our teenage grandchilden and it was a lovely experience. Our grand children are typical teenages with all the last technical equipment so I thought they would bring them along and that is all they would do. Oh no not at all, we went on walks, played games and had some lovely meals. The welcome pack we had on arrive was brilliant - I have never tasted bread like it. Maura was really good from the start of us booking our holiday sending information on the area and events that were happening during our stay. Nothing was oo much trouble - would we go back absolutely - mwe are hooked.

“Fantastic place to stay in a fantastic location”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2011

Our stay here was paid for by friends as a wedding present. The owner was very accomodating as it was paid for in advance as a surprise for me and my husband to later on choose a date which fitted in with our plans. Very impressed with this cottage, lots of lovely touches such as some freshly baked bread on arrival and a note from the owner suggesting some places to go for a celebration meal and good directions and arrival instructions beforehand. It's quite small but was very cosy and warm and clean when we arrived on a cold winter's night. Location is perfect, in the heart of Castleton, just off the very pretty market place, with several pubs serving good food (& beer!) within a short walk. You can walk right out the door and be out walking on the surrounding hills, or visit the caves and castle all within walking distance, and there's plenty more sights to see and go to within short driving distances. Could not fault our stay here and look forward to visiting again some time.

“In the heart of a beautiful village”

The location is key to making this a fantastic holiday rental, a good base for touring the area. A warm and cosy, comfortable and light 2 bed cottage with a fantastic corner bath jacuzzi and to top it off they also take dogs. There are many walks on the doorstep and fantastic pubs (especially the Peaks in as they also take dogs and do fantastic food) The only slight downside is parking outside is difficult if you have a big vehicle. I have rented this cottage twice now and would not hesitate to rent it again.

“New Years experience”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2011

We had stayed before for the Christmas light switch on in November as a couple and were so inmpressed with the cottage, which was fantastic value for money, that we booked another stay for New years with friends. Again great value for the time of year. It is ideally located in Castleton, making everything you want in walking distance. If you want to venture out further there are many places to visit being noly a short drive away.On our second stay the cottage was decorated for christmas and was not over done, which added to the ambience. All the little touches like the fresh baked bread, make you feel very welcome. Overall, we would definately stop again.
