“Pure Pura Vida”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2015

When you arrive drop yor bags & head over to the pool . Then meet the friendly staff, order a drink along with a wood fired pizza & watch the sunset.. You are now safely in the hands of the Pura Vida way.

Response from the owner Lovely! It is the truth! Thank you for putting it so simply - the people of Costa Rica are so warm and friendly and the atmosphere in and around the condo is Pura Vida (Pure Life!) Come back! Linda and Michael Silbert

I believe my family and I had the best accomodations in the entire Manuel Antonio/ Quepos area! This condo was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for my family with great ocean views and spacious living quarters. Our four day stay here was amazing! The beautiful private beach was a short walk and probably the best in the area. Booking this condo was a breeze and Alexander was a pleasure to work with. He even offered to help us get a birthday cake for my daughter in town since we had chosen not to rent a car and we decided last minute on a cake. Overall, our experience was flawless and we can't wait to return to Costa Rica and stay in this perfect condo again. Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so thrilled that our condo added to your vacation and experience in CR! We also appreciate that you loved the condo as much as we do!! Come back any time! Pura Vida! Linda and Michael Silbert

“The best time!”

Reviewed 29 May 2015

We were looking for a new place to celebrate my moms b-day, and this was absolutely more than what we were expecting! The condo is beautiful, has everything you need to cook, relax and have a great time! The beach is literally 300 mts from the condo and it is the most beautiful beach ever! White sand, warm water, we stayed in the ocean the whole day! And even got to see monkeys! We truly had an amazing time, recommend 100%

Response from the owner We are so glad that our condo and of course Manuel Antonio could add to your Mom's birthday celebration! The secluded cove beach which is a 10 minute walk from the condo is so lovely and the water is perfect for swimming! Thanks for sending pictures - they show one happy and fun-loving family! We love receiving pictures from guests! Pura Vida! Linda and Michael Silbert

“Fabulous time at Linda and Michael's Condo”

Reviewed 17 May 2015

Our family of four just returned from an awesome trip to Costa Rica. I did a lot of research to find a condo that would suit our needs. Linda and Michael's condo was exceptional. It was not only beautiful, but it was very comfortable with all the amenities that you would need. It was also located in the perfect location, close to town and on the property of a beautiful boutique hotel which had a pool, restaurant and spa. We were able to cook, they had a washer/dryer, 3 balconies overlooking the beautiful resort and a gorgeous view of sunsets over the pacific ocean! The air conditioning was amazing considering Costa Rica is quite hot. They had a DVD player that we used to watch movies, and they also have HBO which is in English. In addition the condo has wifi, which allowed us to use our computers, ipads, etc. What is even more special is that the condo comes with a concierge named Alex, who helped us book our excursions, and did whatever else we needed to do. He recommended restaurants, and helped us to print out our boarding passes the day before we left. He's a really great guy, and it made our vacation simple and seamless! Going to Manuel Antonio was the best decision that we made. I researched Costa Rica for several months because there are so many places that you can visit and do things, but I feel that Manuel Antonio, has everything all in one place. They have beautiful beaches, rainforests, and lots of awesome excursions. We went ziplining through the canopy, scuba diving, hiking in Manuel Antonio park and saw all sorts of animals, ATV tours and a Jetski tour, but there is much more. What's nice about this area is that all these excursions are close by, whereas many other parts of Costa Rica you have to drive quite a distance to get to them. Our family rented a car, and it was easy to get from the airport in San Jose to Manuel Antonio that way. I had some reservations about driving, but it was not a problem and all the roads were paved and well marked. The restaurants in Manuel Antonio were quite good and all had magnificent views of the pacific. Our last day was a Friday and they have a great farmer's market in Quepos (just a few miles away). I highly recommend you do that, as it was the highlight of our trip. Just being with the locals and seeing what fabulous produce that they have was so much fun. We absolutely loved our trip, and plan to go back again someday. You can't go wrong here.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your review! It is important to research thoroughly when you are planning a vacation and especially when staying in a house or condo. Our pictures are honest representations of our condo - what you see is what you get. And I like to speak to each of our guests so we can get to know each other a bit and it makes for an informal introduction. Also my guests become comfortable with me and can contact me at any time before, during or after their stay. They actually never contact me during their stay because Alex, our rep, is amazing and he is always minutes away. Please come back, we love return guests and have many. Linda and Michael Silbert

We stayed 3 nights in this condo with our 4 children. The condo was beautiful and spacious and Alex and Annie (the contacts there in MA) were so helpful. They set up tours for us and gave us great advice. The condo is in an ideal location. Right next to the park and walking distance to Playa Biesanz. We rented a kayak there one morning and went snorkeling (dry season). Lots of fish and we were the only ones there. Our last night at the condo we had howler monkeys in the tree right next to the balcony. Walking to the beach the next morning we saw squirrel monkeys and white-faced monkeys. We saw more monkeys around the condo then we did in MA! The condo also has access to the hotel pool which was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better place. I would highly recommend this condo!!

Response from the owner We appreciate your review and thrilled you and your children enjoyed your stay! Alex and Annie are wonderful! We are so lucky to have such amazing representation in Manuel Antonio. Linda and Michael Silbert

“Unforgettable Vacation, Unforgettable Lodgings”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2015

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we had an absolutely amazing time. It was everything we could have asked for and so much more. The Shana Hotel is a gorgeous property and our condo unit was out of this world. It was a luxurious space that was still incredibly comfortable and made us feel at home. Situated on one of many peaks in the hills, our balcony gave us a truly kodak moment worthy view of the ocean and greenery. Our concierge, Alex, was very pleasant and extremely helpful with arranging specific activities and excursions we wanted to participate in as well as simply making himself available at all times to field any of our questions. The property's location also provided the convenience of a 5 minute walk to the cove and a mere 10 minute drive into the neighboring city of Quepos, so we never felt anything was out of reach or too inconvenient to venture out for. This was just simply and amazing vacation, made all the more memorable by the fantastic lodgings. We simply cannot wait for our next vacation to Manuel Antonio!!!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your review. We agree - it is a beautiful condo in a great area - close enough to everything and far enough away to give you privacy. We are so thrilled that our condo added to your first experience in CR. And we knew Alex would recommend his favorite places to you. Come back! Pura Vida, Linda and Michael Silbert

“great location rain forest and beach”

Reviewed 14 Dec 2014

The condo was very nice and well furnished with all the little sundries. We enjoyed the balcony with the beautiful view of the rain forest and ocean. Unfortunately the sloth has moved on. We cooked three dinners in the condo and the only thing we wished for was a bigger cutting board. The farmers market on Fri night was fun to go to and a great place to pick up fruit that we had never tried before. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was a plus. The bathrooms are large and there was lots of shelf space. We enjoyed walking down to Biesanz Beach for snorkeling and the short drive to Espadilla Beach for Boogie Boarding on the waves. There was plenty of things to do in the area and we were fishing, hiking and ziplining the whole week. My grandson said he is going to ask Santa for tickets back to Costa Rica. Virginia Rasmussen

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. It sure seems like you had a wonderful time - and that your grandson even wants to come back! Most people do - we have many return guests! So sorry about the sloth family - they move slow but they do move - might be in a few trees down. So happy that you enjoyed your stay in Costa Rica and that our condo enhanced this experience. This is a beautiful condo had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, Alex was excellent, he arranged tours and provided other services gladly We stayed 2 nights on August, family of 5, wish we could stay more :( It is very quiet, relaxing and beautiful. There is a washer and dryer which was very helpful minute drive to Manuel Antonio Park. would definitely go back :)

Response from the owner Thank you for your review! And we are so glad you enjoyed our condo! We agree Alex, our representative, is the best! Pura Vida! Linda and Michael Silbert

“Large and comfortable.”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2014

My wife and I stayed in Manuel antonio for a total of 4 weeks which, with hindsight, was too long as there is little to do within the more immediate area. Better would have been to have had a 2 or even a 3 centre holiday. Having said that, our stay was very relaxing and accomplished what we set out to do which was see a lot of the wildlife. The apartment itself,a steep climb from the pool,is comfortable with a nice outlook towards the Pacific, and with a sloth in regular residence in an adjoing tree and various troops of monkeys clambering past, to sit on the balcony is always interesting. It has a comfortable bed and for 2 to 4 people is extremely spacious.Comfortable seating in the lounge is restricted to a sofa and chair so groups larger than 3 would need to sit on a dining chair or similar. To be picky, I would say that some attention needs to be given. On arrival there were multiple light bulbs needing to be replaced, a broken kitchen cabinet, few coffee cups and wine glasses, no instructions for the cooker, weedy iron and ironing board, ageing balcony chairs ( one of which totally collapsed ) and some decorating needed. In truth, Alex, the concierge, took care of much but a little TLC wouldnt go amiss. A major gripe is the hotel itself. There is little shade around the pool and what seating there is is very uncomfortable with no mattresses. Reception did say they constantly get complaints but still no sign of improvement. The restaurant does not reflect good value and they have an unfortunate policy regarding exchange rates and change given. General points. Best steak. El Lagarto. Best fish. Mar Luna Fine Dining. La Gaia Hotel. Best family run. The Gondola. Best breakfast. El Patio de Cafe Milagro. Best american Bar. Quepos Marina. To see and do. Manuel antonio Park. Tarcoles River trip. Marriott resort, Herradura. Try the deli by the marina. Stay in a lodge in Corcovado National Park. Overall...a very pleasant experience

Response from the owner I appreciate your review but I must add that the moment you arrived you were upset that the temperature outside was hot ( not in the condo because we have central air) but outside. It is always in the 80's or above in Manuel Antonio! And then you didn't like the coffee cups because they were too large and you wanted a tea set with smaller cups - Alex, our amazing representative, immediately purchased a tea set for you! He also replaced the light blubs within the first hour of your visit and purchased new outdoor furniture. The hotel is not connected to the condos in anyway. They are under new management, as I hear, and are in the process of working out details. We share the pool but that is it! I will say that you are the only guest that has not thoroughly enjoyed our spacious floor plan and well equipped kitchen. We have 1 king size bed in the master bed room, 1 queen size bed in the quest room, and a pull out queen size sofa in the area adjacent to the master - plus a blow up mattress that many of our quests use in the living room - which is why we have floor space to accommodate this. So, I do not understand your thinking that our condo sleeps 2-4?!
