Nestling in the sleepy village of North Whilborough, Long Barn is a small, exclusive rural holiday development of four cottages set in four acres surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet only a few miles from the bustling attractions of the English Riviera.

Relax and unwind in our 5 star cottages, beautifully converted from a range of traditional farm buildings to provide stylish luxury holiday accommodation. Each cottage offers maximum comfort whilst retaining many original features such as exposed beams, stripped antique pine and flagstone floors, and each has a log burner. All are centrally heated and equipped with TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washer/dyer and hairdryers.

Long Barn has its own large private garden with barbecue and garden furniture and two terraces and lovely views of the surrounding Devon countryside. This spacious, beautifully presented converted barn sleeps 13 plus cots and is perfect for large family groups or friends holidaying together.

It has a huge sitting room/dining room with wood burning stove, oak flooring and French doors, children’s playroom with Playstation and games, a second large sitting room with TV and DVD, cloakroom, fully fitted dining kitchen with electric double oven, dishwasher and utility room with washer/dryer.

Six bedrooms ( two kingsize doubles, two twin, another twin with extra bunkbeds and one spacious single room with plenty of room for cots) and five luxury bathrooms (three en suite).

Enjoy a swim in our superb 10 metre by 5 metre heated indoor pool heated to a constant 30 C - a great place to unwind or have fun with your family and friends.

The indoor play barn will keep children of all ages entertained for hours, whatever the weather. Enjoy a game of table tennis, pool or table football or relax while you sit and watch your toddlers have fun on the Little Tikes climbing equipment and two storey play house with slide.

If the weather’s too good to play inside, there’s lots of outdoor fun including a trampoline with safety net, adventure play equipment, toddler play with play boats and jetty, football and badminton nets.

If you can bear to leave your cottage, we are in a perfect location to make the most of your leisure time. Only three miles from Torquay, all that South Devon has to offer is a stone’s throw away – historic towns and cities, stunning coastlines, secluded beaches, rugged moorland and an endless variety of sports are available close by, including sailing. horse-riding, windsurfing, rock-climbing, golf and walking. Whether you’re coming to try everything or do nothing, enjoy your most relaxing holiday ever with us.

We are open all year and prices are inclusive of full gas central heating, logs for log burners, electricity, towels, bedlinen and VAT.

Our cottages are located just three miles from Torquay in a peaceful rural setting in the heart of South Devon, yet within a half hour’s drive of Devon’s most alluring places. Explore the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth, the atmospheric old towns of Totnes and Dartmouth, the rugged Dartmoor landscape or the secluded stunning beaches of the South Hams, then come back to enjoy the luxury, peace and seclusion of your beautiful home from home.

We had an amazing time between Christmas and New Year at the cottage. We had the pool and games rooms to ourselves as there was no one in the other cottages but we didn’t spend an awful amount of time in them as it was great being altogether in the cottage. It was decorated to a high standard, was very clean and very well equipped. There were lots of little touches in bedrooms and bathrooms which helped put the cherry on the cake. Lots of space to be all together or to have some timeout. The owners are very friendly and are sometimes around to give advice and tips on the local area if you haven’t already read the guest hand book. Their welcome gift was very appreciated after a long drive down the M5. Will definitely be returning in the near future.
