“Better than expected!!!”
The pictures of the tulip house, as lovely as they are, do not do it justice! It is much nicer than the photos can capture - a gorgeous, comfortable, sunny and incredibly well-kept place to stay. We were travelling with our two kids (9,6) and it was the perfect accommodation. Lots of room, comfortable beds, a very quiet home for great sleeps, and incredibly helpful and kind hosts. An easy walk to kits beach and the great kits beach outdoor pool, and all the stores and restaurants on 4th. Can't say enough good things about tulip house!!
“Tulip House - the only place to stay”
We chose this rental primarily for the location (near to UBC where our son was studying) and for the previous favourable reviews - and we were delighted with the whole experience. Tulip House's location in Kitsilano is ideal. The friendly neighbourhood has a supermarket, liquor store and cafes all within walking distance whilst a slightly longer walk will bring you to even more facilities. It's a short walk to buses into downtown and out to UBC. Just across the road is Jean Beaty park, a small grassy area with breathtaking views across English Bay to North Shore, West Van and the downtown skyline. We had to go each day just to get our fix! There are walks straight from the door along the shore to Jericho Beach and beyond or, in the opposite direction, to Kits Beach and round to Granville Island. But you want to know about the house itself - what can we say that hasn't already been said? It's awesome! And Dagmar and andrew complete the picture as the hosts with the most. The Tulip House website is great but actually doesn't prepare you for the spaciousness of the accommodation. We were four adults (three over 6 ft tall) and didn't feel cramped at all. The beds were comfy, the shower was powerful, the kitchen was to die for .. and it was spotlessly clean, of course. Dagmar had always been on the mark with her e-mailing whilst we sorted out the booking and deposit, and both she and andrew were attentive and friendly without being intrusive at all. The visitor book, with its lovely remarks from 2007 onwards, demonstrates the strength of feeling about the Rinkhy's and their lovely apartment. We certainly hope to visit again and would not hesitate to recommend Tulip House; in fact my husband, who isn't a big holiday fan, said it was the one place where he'd felt completely at home! We wouldn't change anything about the apartment and even the weather over the Easter weekend was on our side. Well done, Dagmar and andrew, and keep on doing what you're doing
“Great apartment in Vancouver”
This 2 bed apartment is excellent. It comes well equipped for all you need during a stay, is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden access is a bonus. The apartment is well positioned for downtown via public transport, has all amenities you will need locally, and has great views and excellent walks just across the road. Dagmar and andrew offer excellent advice, are always on hand if needed, but never intrusive.
“A superb stay!”
Our stay at Tulip House was fantastic. The apartment was immaculate, beautifully appointed and equipped with everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable. A good location for the sights Downtown, Kitsilano restaurants, beaches and the University. In addition, we were made to feel very welcome by our hosts who went out of their way to assist us during our visit. We would not hesitate to recommend Tulip House.
“home from home”
beautiful home with everything you need, very quiet. Owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful, they go the extra mile and are full of useful information. Would recommend a stay here.
Response from the owner Hi Jemma, Thank you so much for the great review! I imagine you are back home again and resuming normal life. Please say hi to Lee Ann and Steve from us. You were all wonderful guests and we really enjoyed getting to know you. All the best, Dagmar and Andrew
“Feel like home during stay at Tuliphouse”
To stay at Tuliphouse was our best decision. Very friendly hosts, very clean rooms, all that you need in the kitchen, nice location. One word => Best!
Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind words! A good review is priceless, and very appreciated!! I hope that you are back to normal with the time change etc. I am in the south of France right now...... it's cool and rainy just like Vancouver! I hope the weather changes before I leave on Sunday! Herzliche gruesse, Dagmar
“Tulip House is in a great location with a nice view over the bay”
We had 5 days of absolute sunshine and perfect days for walking. We took buses and water taxis but for the most part we walked- to Stanley Park and all over the city of Vancouver. The Tulip house is a great place on English Bay to come home to in the evenings and every detail in the finish work is perfect, complete with a gourmet kitchen. If it were a hotel, we would say it is 5 stars. We plan on returning as soon as we retire.
“A Delightful Getaway!”
I searched for many hours on the internet as I like to find a unique place to stay when I travel. I do not travel much so when I so the last thing I want to stay in is the usual hotel room. This trip was with my 19 year old daughter, a last minute decision as her twin sister went to Japan with a college group. The only thing that could have made the trip better was the weather cooperating! The Tulip house was clean, quiet very roomy and had a beautiful kitchen. we each had our own room and we loved it! When we arrived it was very late and Dagmar met us and left the key, she also had coffee, juice and a few items for us for breakfast the next morning. We did shop for groceries throughout the week( great market within walking distance..) and made some of our meals there at the house. The kitchen is great! most anything you need is there to prepare a gourmet meal... wonderful! There are also many great restaurants within walking distance so you do not need to cook if you do not want to. Even though the weather was cold, we walked everyday to downtown Vancouver... we intended to ride the buses more , they are very easy to use... but we ended up deciding each time to walk one more block before we caught the bus! It was a great vacation for walking! The hosts are very gracious and friendly, willing to help with directions and advice if you desire it. If I ever get back to Vancouver, I will be staying at the Tulip House every time! Absolutely loved it! My daughter did as well! Thanks Dagmar!
“Better than home ... and I am spoiled ;)”
