- Very Good
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mansfield Woods. The cabin was clean and comfortable, quiet and serene. We came to Mansfield to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum which is less than 1/2 mile from the cabins. Barbara, the owner, was very friendly and gave us tips on other things to see and do in the area. Our daughter saw a red fox early in the quiet morning .Very peaceful here. There is a cemetery in the back of our cabin with old headstones, we read them and were amazed how old it was. Also, the water is so wonderful and fresh, loved it! Better than any bottled water I know. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the Mansfield area. We will be back one day. Thank you Barbra for everything. God Bless you.
“Not for us”
The owner is very nice and certainly keep a clean "cabin". (They even brought us towels to dry the dogs due to rain in the area.)The owner did us a deal for a last-minute reservation of 2 nights; appreciated. It is not what we would call a "cabin", long & narrow & felt like a parked R.V. The buildings are very close to each other, so we're glad we were there when no one else was. Our dogs enjoyed having run of the place and we did have a nice hike way back behind the buildings, found a creek and cave,(but didn't enter it). We brought fishing gear but decided not to fish from the pond. One full day there was plenty. The double bed was extremely comfortable and linens perfect. We had some trouble with the heat pump when it turned cold the next night, but I'm sure we just didn't have the hang of it. Fridge, microwave and hot plate indoors; grill masters will want to know the charcoal provided is the quick-starter type. (There is no computer or tv access, fyi, but that was fine with us, just letting you know.)We did feel fairly safe, knowing the owner's house was within view.
“Great place to stay!”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mansfield Woods. Barb & Pop were as welcoming as anyone could ever ask for, they even let us use their personal fishing poles when they learned that we had forgotten ours! The cabin was clean and comfortable, quiet and serene. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the Mansfield area.
“Wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable location.”
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The cabins were well appointed and comfortable. The local color was fascinating and interesting. Sitting and overlooking the pond was very relaxing. A great stay.
Great location and beautiful view. Very quiet, clean and peaceful. The hosts are absolutely wonderful and the cabins were very comfortable and country style. Enjoyed the orchard, birds and other wildlife, very serene. We will be back again!!
“Clean and comfortable cabins”
We came to Mansfield to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum which is less than 1/2 mile from the cabins. The cabins are very clean and well-stocked with dishes, linens, etc. Barbara, the owner, was very friendly and gave us tips on other things to see and do in the area. We made steaks on the BBQ on the deck and enjoyed watching the deer and birds while we ate. We walked through the woods and enjoyed the peace and quiet. This is a very nice place to stay.
Response from the owner Thank you Mary. We enjoyed having you come visit us.
“Excellent Hosts/Quaint Cabins!”
You won't find nicer hosts. They bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The cabin was fun! It was clean with several special features. The kitchenette includes dishes, a toaster, microwave and regular sized refrigerator. We especially enjoyed the deck with a table and super nice grill. The location of the cabins is far enough off the road that you don't hear the traffic. The cabins sit in the woods and the view is so nice from the deck. Don't miss the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum just across the road. Give yourself a few hours to tour the whole museum. Baker Creek Village is great too. It's not far from Mansfield. Since the cabins are close to each other, it would be great fun to get a group of people and rent all the cabins at the same time. Try Mansfield Woods. My family of 3 loved it!
Response from the owner Well thank you Stacie and Family. We enjoyed your visit too. It's always nice to hear good comments from our guests. Let us know anytime you would like to stay with us again. Yes, we have a lot of groups and families that travel together and like to be together but have some privacy also. Thank you again. Barb, Kate, Pops & Kerry
“A True Vacation Spot”
These cabins are absolutely charming. This is a great place to stay. The scenery is gorgeous. The staff is caring and friendly. I could not ask for a more relaxing vacation. It's so peaceful and quiet, but very close to many attractions and historical sites. Perfect!
Response from the owner Thank you, Bella. We enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again this year.
