Helvellyn Cottage offers pet friendly self catering for 4 people in a 19th century lakeland stone miners cottage above the village of Glenridding, next to Ullswater and Helvellyn in Cumbria the Lake District. The cottage is in an elevated position and has panoramic views across to the fells and down to the Lake. A cottage with character but also with a range of modern facilities including central heating, power shower and a wood burning stove. We also have Free WiFi, Freeview TV, a DVD player, a selection of DVDs, maps, books and games. Please note bookings run Friday to Friday. Rates vary by time of year from £350 to £700 a week. Short breaks available from £300 for 3 nights at certain times of year. Pets welcome for additional £20 fee. Please contact us for detailed availability and prices.

I've spoken to Rob and he apologises profusely if he seemed unhelpful. especially on Monday as he may have been a bit rushed as he was on his way to a funeral that morning. In terms of the heating the central heating and wood burner normally make the cottage nice and toasty but we'll check the radiators to make sure they don't need bleeding. Thanks again. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Rob (the owner) a message.

If Rob (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
