Description

This 3 bedroom waterfront cottage is privately located at the end of a lane on a quiet cove of Rose Bay. The cottage sits on a landscaped two acre lot with an open and private view of the Bay. It is situated 100 feet off the water with a small shale/sand beach in front that is suitable for swimming at high tide. Decks, a screened porch, patio and many quiet indoor and outdoor sitting areas help you enjoy the beautiful property and views, including sunrises and sunsets. The house is open concept, with hand hewn post and beam construction, oak and pine floors and ample windows to appreciate the view. The quiet property brings out deer, rabbits, inshore and bay birds as frequent visitors. The sheltered bay is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and shoreline hiking. The property boasts lovely gardens and a peaceful backyard with a brook and fruit trees. With Hirtles and Kingsburg beaches around the corner, you have all the benefits of the beautiful Kingsburg Peninsula, yet the privacy of a quiet retreat off the main road. The UNESCO heritage town of Lunenburg, with its many attractions, restaurants and shops, is only a 15 minute drive along the shore. Mahone Bay is a ½ hour drive, and Halifax (and the airport) are a 1½ hour drive. This is a popular area for hiking and biking as well.

Response from the owner Yes, these renters were the first of the season and we had some unfortunate surprises, as well as new cleaning help. These issues have all been addressed, including a new stove/oven, so hopefully renters going forward will have a more favourable experience.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Maureen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
