“A little piece of paradise”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2012

We stayed here for two weeks in June 2012. Everything that has been written about the views and the cottage itself are absolutely true. What impressed me very much was the attitude of Jo and Roger, the owners who live on the property. While this is a business venture, it is very clear that Jo and Roger are passionate about making sure their guests have everything they need to ensure a stress free and memorable holiday. There was a very generous welcome pack waiting for us on our late arrival, which was much appreciated. There was a very adequate supply of laundry and cleaning products, loo paper and soap. Little thoughtful additions like the binoculars and the bird guide showed an anticipation of guests needs that went beyond the call of duty. They were always on hand to answer questions, book a car or taxi but they never intruded. They were the nicest hosts that we have ever stayed with on our travels. The only thing that made leaving Clifftop Cottage was the hope that we will return next year, God willing. Ailish and Padraig, Ireland

After many endless hour's of research, email's and phone call's,I decided we were going to celebrate my wife's surprise 50th birthday present on the Island of Skopelos,in the village of Glossa,at Joanna Weston's Clifftop.I looked at the picture's,emailed and called "Jo" on many occasion's,she was always very informative, and helpfull in all my querrie's.I felt totally confident in my decision. How fortunate we were. From our arrival into Loutraki,to our departure from Loutraki 16 day's later,my,our expectation's were exceeded. From the Taxi awaiting us upon arriving, meeting Joanna for our introduction to Clifftop, all the amenitie's at hand, and the truly special view's and feeling in and around Clifftop,it is truly a special place on this earth.Close to all,but just far enough away.Outstanding, Jo and Roger are close by,for any question's you may have. If you are looking for it,it's here. The way it used to be,is here. It was for us. Warm regard's, Louise and alex Toronto,Ontario,Canada

“Love is in the air!”

What a place! Clifftop Cottage is a truly stunning location with amazing views over the aegean Sea. We practically lived on the wrap around balcony which is incredibly spacious, private and offers the most wonderful viewing platform for mesmerising sunsets. The cottage itself is incredibly well equipped and furnished and even washing up is a joy with that view from the kitchen! Expect complete Greek authenticity in the village of Glossa, exceptionally friendly locals and the odd donkey! Glossa has a good range of amenities including a 'to die for' bakers, supermarket and several restaurants/tavernas. The bus service is good and provides easy transport to all the beautiful beaches and Skopelos Town. And finally we are no astrologers but viewing the stars at night from the Clifftop Cottage sunloungers is absolulely magical and in our case had surprising results - we got engaged! Will we be back?Definately. In fact, Clifftop is a strong contender for our Honeymoon - a real gem of a find!

“Breathtakingly Wonderful”

Received a warm welcome to Cliff Top by our friendly hosts. The cottage is in a quiet part of Glossa but commands the most amazing views across the agean and is in walking distance of the local village bars, restaurants and shops making a delightful holiday for anyone wanting a quiet retreat, yet access to the islands beaches and busier spots is easy enough using local transport or hire vehicles. I doubt anyone staying here will be able to resist the lure to return at some point in the future!

“Rooms with a view...”

I found details of Clifftop Cottage on ebay - of all places! - and from my first enquiry to the day we left, Joanna couldn't have been more helpful. We had not been to Skopelos before, so Joanna gave us advice about travel, and even booked tickets for us for the ferry from Skiathos, and arranged for us to be met when we arrived in Skopelos. I have visited Greece many times, and while the basic nature of most accommodation has never troubled me, to have such a well equipped place to stay was a real treat. We plagued Joanna and Roger with questions and they were always obliging and friendly - really, well beyond the call of duty! We would both highly recommend this cottage - not least because of the fabulous views from both balconies.

“Clifftop Cottage is the perfect location, peaceful, real Greece.”

Clifftop is the ideal location for a get away holiday, a piece of 'real Greece'! The views from the balcony over the sea and Islands are simply stunning! You could easily spend your whole holiday just sitting there, but then you'd miss the beautiful island of Skopelos which is easily accessible by bus from Glossa village. Just a thought - the views are fantastic, therefore the walk to the beach is a bit of a climb!

“Looks even better in real life”

A genuine clifftop experience with stunning views of sea, islands, sunset, swooping birds of prey, hummingbird hawkmoths, geckos, friendly cats, tasteful exterior/interior, authentic greek island village, lots of sun. We had the mother of all thunderstorms one night and that only added to the clifftop experience. Professional & friendly service from the owners. Very reasonable rates. Unforgettable and unique.

“View to die for”

The Clifftop Cottage is just that, a one bedroom cottage on a clifftop and a five minute stroll into a small town called Glossa on Skopelos. The cottage is all we could have wanted. Secluded and with a breathtaking view of the sea, the north of the island and as the balcony and sundeck faces west, of picture perfect sunsets. Writing this review reminds me of the tranquility and of watching the birds gliding the air currents with the spectacular panorama of the ocean beyond.

A beautiful cottage with magnificent views over towards Skiathos. Hosts were so helpful and arranged ferries, taxis and a welcolme pack of wine and cheese. We had a most relaxing stay and enjoyed the village of glossa which was unspoilt but was on a bus route so we could explore the beaches and capital city. Would recommend and definitely return when time permits.
