“Restful and convenient condo, very nicely appointed, brief walk to beach.”
We have stayed at Wailea Ekahi many times over the past 20 years and consider it the best value on the island. We usually have stayed along the large common green that slopes down to the main pavilion, beach and ocean; those units usually provided a small or moderate ocean view. Some were ground floor units, others upper floor. We mention this background to provide a comparative basis for reviewing 20B. 20B is conveniently located, ground floor, very close to the parking area; suitcases and groceries can be carried easily into the unit. The kitchen is to the immediate right of the entry. It was well stocked with flatware, dishes, pots and pans, and cooking implements. The only shortcoming was the toaster oven, which needs replacement; it did not toast evenly. The dining room and living room areas are attractive and comfortable, and for entertainment of a larger group (or for a large family), the table and chairs on the large lanai are useful. The bedroom is lovely, with a lanai directly outside the sliding doors. The morning view looks out on the lawn with a dramatic, solid wall of flowering bougainvillea on the far side. The bed is large and very comfortable. The master bath is roomy, and the master shower has a rain forest shower head. However, during our stay we had difficulty keeping the spray inside the stall itself; either the head needed some repair or we didn't use it properly. We ended up using the older style shower in the second bath. As an aside, the master shower stall is nicely tiled, with a beautiful, large sea turtle tile on the wall. That was representative of the lovely touches around the unit, including a stunning wall hanging. The location is convenient, as noted. The main pool and pavilion, and entry to the beach, are about a 4-5 minute walk down the street (which is largely hidden from view by the bougainvillea). There also is a smaller, quiet pool a few yards above the parking area, and an adjacent paddle tennis court. Also, immediately across the parking area there is a modest herb garden (basil, rosemary, parsley, etc.) which guests are free to use; we've done so for many years. The main pool and pavilion can be entered by a side gate off the street, and they provide direct access to the expansive public beach--a beautiful long stretch of sand in both directions. The views from the condo are limited by construction of large homes across the street, leaving only a peek of the ocean; but the sunset colors are still beautiful, and the West Maui range rises well above any buildings. The main lanai and the smaller one off the bedroom are pleasant settings for appreciating the view, and we used them often. In short, we liked the unit very much, and although we do prefer ground floor units on the common green (close to the pavilion), we would be happy to stay again in 20B. The owner, Kathi Wahed, is extremely supportive and friendly; she is a pleasure to work with.

“Vacation in Paradise”
We stayed for two weeks in this lovely unit in the Wailea Ekahi complex. The complex is set in the midst of a well tended and spectacular garden setting. We have stayed in the complex many times, but this was our first time at unit 20B. It proved to be exactly what we were looking for in terms of amenities, decor and convenient proximity to the beach, pools and beautiful gardens. The Hawaiian styled furniture and bedding was comfortable and both the artwork and upholstery fabrics created the restful atmosphere we were seeking for our holiday surroundings. The unit was equipped with all the items one could possibly need for an extended stay: (all necessary up-to-date appliances, dishes and cooking utensils, audio-visual devices, Wifi, barbecue, patio furniture, beach items etc.) This ground floor garden unit with extensive tiled lanai, overlooks a private grassy area surrounded by flowering trees and tropic plants. There is a partial ocean view between the houses in front and one can enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the comfort of the lanai seating. It is a two minute walk to the main roadway for an early morning jog, or to the main pool and beach pavilion, where one can access the wonderful swimming beach through a secure and locked gate. We liked the convenience of the parking lot for the unit and the close proximity to another quiet pool and paddle tennis court immediately behind the unit. The pool areas were great for stargazing at night. We were very pleased with the prompt and professional manner with which our reservation for unit 20B was handled by the owner. We would definitely return to this unit on a future vacation and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. If you arrive after dark or when the complex office is closed, you'll need to carry a flashlight or use your cellphone light to access the keys.
“Good value, well equipped, close to beach and away from busy str”
We've been traveling annually to Maui for nearly 30 years and learned that Wailea is the place to stay. The Ekahi units were built in the 1970's and today span a wide variety of renovated conditions. Most upper units have cathedral ceilings--lower units do not. Units in the upper village (much higher in elevation) require a lengthy walk to the beach. This unit is definitely in the upper half of the units available (quality and location-wise) and the owners have made it available at a reasonable price. When selecting your unit, be sure to stay away from the busy street along the north and east perimeter (unless road noise does not bother you). Pros: In the lower village. One of the closest units to Keawakapu beach. Well equipped with beach toys. First floor unit with large patio. Cons: Under construction luxury home now blocks most of the view. Patio orientation faces west and heats up as the day progresses. The unit above left their exterior sunshades down while vacant resulting in a constant banging noise overnight.

“quiet, comfortable condo very close to an amazing beach”
My wife and I had the most enjoyable vacation. The condo had everything we needed to live very comfortably for 10 days. We appreciated the beach chairs, coolers and umbrella, we were close enough to the beach to be able to carry all that stuff easily. We explored other beaches and by the end of our stay decided that 'our' beach was as good as any. I would highly recommend this condo.
“Everything you need for a wonderful vacation!”
This is an excellent condo. There is a feeling of space, both within, and also on the lanai. It is well-furnished with just about everything in that you could possibly need. It is as described on the website. The views of the garden are quite stunning, with the bougainvillea in full flower whilst we were there. It felt very private and quiet, despite a public road beyond the bougainvillea. The condo is ideally situated for swimming pools and beach, the latter being a 2/3 minute walk away. The beach itself is excellent and was never crowded. Ekahi Village is beautifully kept and well situated for visiting all parts of Maui. The shops at Wailea are just down the road. We shall return.
“All expectations were met!”
August 29-September 9, 2013 Wailea being our favorite place in the Islands, it was easy to pick this spot to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Your condo is very well maintained and we enjoyed the lanai and lawn bordered by color. This private setting is so very close to a wonderful beach; we also enjoyed the "backdoor pool" as well as the beachfront pool. We would definitely return!!
“Perfect for our family of 3 (infant and parents)”
This condo offered the best value for our family: child friendly, easy walk to beach, family friendly pool right next to beach, extra bathroom which fit crib so we didn't have to share a room with baby, beautiful lanai that opened to a garden - perfect for baby to crawl around on, small view of ocean which ordinarily commands a premium (note there is construction that will likely obstruct this view), and we could hear the rolling waves of the ocean all day and evening. The condo was clean and very well stocked. The kitchen and bathroom remodels were very nicely done. The owners were gracious, helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend. This is a relatively affordable option for easy accessibility to one of the best beaches on Maui. The grounds are well kept, as are the pools. Lots of families around yet the environment was very quiet and relaxing.
Response from the owner Thanks, Allison, for your kind review. Did want to comment that the beach home under construction probably won't be finished for another year. In the meantime, we have a fantastic view and, even when it's completed, we will still have some nice partial ocean views. Best of all, we're still VERY CLOSE TO THE BEACH which makes daily visits to the ocean easy.
Kathi and Joe are so friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and had all the necessities of a home. The walk to the beach and pool were 3-5 minutes which was perfect when toting two little ones. We felt lucky and privileged to be able to rent such a beautiful place so close to the beach! Looking forward to returning.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in 20B. I would not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone. We love Maui and were so glad to discover this part of the island. 20B is located in more relaxed and sedate part of Maui. It feels so different than other parts of the island that are often overrun with tourists and visitors. The location was perfect for us. Without question, we'll be back.
“Exceeded our expectations”
Our stay at this condo was wonderful. It was very clean and well stocked to accomodate all of our needs. The access to the beach and the beach pool were well about our expectations. The garden area was beautiful and a great place to relax and enjoy. Kathy and Joe were great to work with and we would definitely return!
