“Perfect family getaway in sweet Yelapa”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2014

We came to Yelapa for a wedding, and the location of Casa Joanie is absolutely perfect - you are right in the village and just steps from many cafes and restaurants, the banana bread lady, and a couple of little shops if you should need anything. The main beach is about a 15 minute walk, but you get used to it and soon it feels like nothing. Cj is lovely and spacious with the most incredible view from both the downstairs and the upstairs. Bring earplugs and a sleep mask if you are a light sleeper - the sounds of the bugs and birds can be noisy, but they are wonderful - and the sun comes in bright in the morning. The beds were super comfortable, kitchen has everything you need, and we spent many lazy mornings and afternoons just lounging in the hammock, playing games, and relaxing. We would absolutely stay there again - like I said, the location is so great. Walk to the right and you hit the town and beach, walk to the left and you can explore the trail that goes around the point and secluded Playa Isabel. We brought our 12-year old son and he slept downstairs, we slept upstairs. You could also sleep one other person on the extra futon, although it does not have a mosquito net. We had no bug problems, never saw any scorpions or anything like that - just a grasshopper and a couple of lizards. Gorgeous - we would come back for sure!

“Awesome Casa in Yelapa”

Reviewed 21 Jan 2014

We loved our stay at Casa Joanie during the Christmas holidays. The casa is in a great location, close to town, and has a spectacular view of the beach and bay. It is really well equipped (including Cd's, snorkeling gear, well stocked kitchen)and has great NW art. Scott and Grace are gracious hosts. You will not be disappointed!

“Charming Spot in Yelapa”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2011

A friend in albuquerque recommended Casa Grace in Yelapa. We were traveling with another couple so we decided to rent the slightly larger, next door. We totally enjoyed Casa Joanie! It is located in central Yelapa, yet still very private. Both the upstairs and downstairs have fabulous views, comfortable beds and furniture, new stereo equipment, charming decorations and a very well stocked kitchen. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom (like the paths in Yelapa) are a little steep and not for anyone with a mobility challenge. The caretaker Diego met us at the dock, carried our luggage by wheelbarrow, and checked us in. The owners Scott and Grace were staying next door at the time. We enjoyed visiting with them and found them available and helpful, but not at all in our way. There is a view of the lush surroundings and the beach, and the sunrise a little after 7am is not to be missed! Definitely worth the reasonable price.
