“fantastic holiday 2013”
We were looking for a villa which was in walking distance from a town, suitable for young children and with a swimming pool. Very nice house and well equiped. The owners, Grazia and Gianmarco are warm and friendly people and they help you wherever they can. Big garden with well maintained swimming pool and nice places to sit and relax. Very quiet environment and close to many beautiful places Florence, Pisa, Siena and so more to visit.
Ciclamino met our expectations in every way. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Owners so helpful and obliging, even coming out on a Sunday evening to replace gas. Your own car is essential.
My husband and our 2 sons stayed at Ciclamino in May 2013. Pros: Spacious. This is large house with 3 large bedrooms. We had plenty of room to spread out. Brand new appliances. The kitchen was well equipped buy we never found a toaster. Lovely view over looking vineyards and olive orchards; a few power lines marred the view. Yard - nice patio to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine, unfortunely it was cool and rainy our week here so we were only able to do this one night. Firm and fairly comfortable beds. Nice selection of Dvds. Very nice proprietors who are willing to help you as they can. The price...very reasonable. Cons: The house was quite musty. I'm not sure if that was because it rained a lot while we were there or if it was because it was the beginning of the season but it needed a good airing out. The TV was very confusing. They had satellite but we had no idea what channels they received and we were only able to find eastern european stations and CNN. The wifi was very iffy. It went out all together one day and we called Grazia. She responded immediately and it was working at the end of the day but it was always very slow and unreliable. The four of us took very short showers in the morning and we always ran out of hot water. If six were staying in the house you would definitely run short. No blow dryer. Conclusion: This is not a luxury villa but it was fairly clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Note that linens and towels are extra as is heat. It is a 20 to 25 minute drive to Lucca. The closest town, Pescia, about a 12 minute drive, is not a town one would visit as a tourist but it has a good supermarket and a train station so it is convenient for day trips. The town of San Gennaro, a 5 minute walk, while quaint, has one bar/shop and the one time we went there, we felt rather self conscious and out of place. We found some wonderful restaurants in the hills surrounding Pescia - Ristorante Lombardo and Trattoria Sandrino.
“a fantastic time, the pool with a bottle of Prosecco”
The owner was lovely. He greeted us with a bottle of Prosecco Valdobbiadene ;-). We had a fantastic time at this house! The property is beautiful and totally holds up to its promises. The apartment was great, the pool and outdoor dining areas fabulous! The owners were very friendly and helpful! I definitively recommend
The place was ideal for us. The area is lovely. The apartment had everything we needed, including WiFi and washing machine. The house is in a perfect location, just a few kilometers from Lucca, which is worth visiting not only for its artistic aspect and for the nice shops and many restaurants. And if you have children it is a nice walk in the park of Collodi, the park of Pinocchio.
“holiday in Lucca”
This place is in a lovely quiet village in the hills about 18km out of Lucca. The owner (Gianmarco) greated us, explained the area and left us to it. We were near enough to the city of Lucca to have easy access to grocery stores, produce markets, butcher shops, and restaurants. The flat is lovely, is up a hill, surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards furnished with new items aswell as lovely old pieces of tuscan furniture, recently finished it is of a verg good standard. There were nice views of the surrounding areas, and some lovely sunsets.
Our stay in San Gennaro was amazing! The village is quiet and peaceful, the house is warm and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much and were able to relax completely. We loved the sun terrasse with the great view - and also the garden was very nice! The whole house is lovingly restaured. When not staying on our sunny terrace and enjoying the upcoming spring, we did some day trips to Lucca, Pistoia, Bagni di Lucca and Collodi. Thanks again to Gianmarco and Grazia for renting their house and enabling us to have our wonderful holiday !
We had a wonderful stay. Lovely view, great breeze every afternoon near the pool for relaxing, close to vineyards and other day trips. Landlords are very helpful, 5-min. walk to morning cappucino or necessities in the village. Not alot of water pressure or hot water, but our two couples did fine and we look forward to going back.
“A wonderful respite with spectacular views in a charming setting”
We received excellent service from the Gianninis who even personally guided us up the mountain1 We loved this charming farmhouse which had a wood burning fireplace and all updated amenities. The location was perfect for touring...we took the Giannini's advice and drove the short distance to Pescia for convenient train travels. What we liked best were the stunning views, the location, the quaintness of the house and the access to charming San Gennaro! The Gianninis do a great job!!!
“Verry nice house with a wonderfull view”
