“Old World Charm”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

We rented this lovely old cottage because it was just a few miles from the venue for our daughter's wedding and what a good choice we made. During the hottest weekend of the year Brook Cottage was a cool oasis - just what was needed in the frantic run-up to the wedding. The bridesmaids rented The Ottery next door, which was recently - and beautifully - refurbished and is also owned by Lindsay Newcomb, so we had parking space for several cars and all the space we needed for the preparations. Brook is a charming old cottage with low beams (watch your head!) and is full of homely comforts such as the old leather sofa, the fantastic kitchen range and the log-burning stove (not that we needed that in 32 degree heat!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again but we are left with a quandary: Do we rent Brook or do we rent The Ottery?

“Wonderful Cottage - Great location”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2013

Had a wonderful time. This was our second extended stay at Brook Cottage, and once again, we enjoyed our visit. The cottage had everything we needed, and felt like our home away from home. The location was perfect for some fabulous day trips. We loved exploring the surrounding area; lots of great pubs, shops, farms and good places for the kids. Thank you for sharing your home. We'll be back!

“Christmas 2012 at Brook!”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2013

We arrived at wonderful Brook Cottage after a very long journey from Western australia. Wendy arrived shortly after us with provisions and cakes! The cottage was just as we had envisaged. Very oldie worldy, old beams and cosy lounge with a log burner. We very much enjoyed our Christmas having family and friends closeby and also of course visiting the Longs arms at South Wraxall where we were made very welcome and had delicious food, and my husband very much enjoying the beer as it is not the same in Oz! The cottage was very warm and cosy, peaceful and having parking was a big bonus. We had wifi which was great and my mobile coverage worked fine - I used Tescos? Whilst there we had a look around the Ottery which was very nicely presented. We will definitely be back in the future - looking forward to it! Thank you very much Bob, Lindsay and Wendy with all your help and prompt communication. Kind regards Emma, Rich, Georgina and Declan

“Weekend Break”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2012

My family and I (2 adults 2 children) stayed at Brook Cottage back in March and found it to be a lovely. Apart from some communication problems on arrival everything else was great. It's ideally located to explore the local countryside and surrounding villages and only a short drive away from the beautiful city of Bath. Even though this is a little cottage we had plenty of room with the open plan design. We loved the wood burner and would definitely visit again.

Hello Bob, Lindsay Just back from our holiday in your beautiful cottage. We had a fantastic time while we were there, the beautiful village with its friendly people, and what a lovely pub to. We were lucky with the weather, it was kind to us for our stay. Archie was in his element with all the country walks. Thanks Regards Bill, Michelle and archie

“Great stay”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2012

It was a pleasure dealing with the owner in advance. The cottage itself is very well appointed and very clean on arrival. We had some difficulty finding the property. If this happens to you, just look for the brook! The cottage is just on the right hand side. Security deposit was returned very promptly.

“Wonderful Cottage - Everything you need!”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2011

We had a great time staying in this wonderful cottage. We were so comfortable and felt very spoiled staying in such a nice place that had everything we needed. The locations was great, close to so much and such fun exploring: the canals, Bath, local villages, local pubs with fantastic food. Thanks for sharing your home with us we hope to be back next year.
