Villa Casa Luna

Casa Luna is an elegant, private residence located just 90 yards behind Playa LaRopa Beach in the Bay of Zihuatanejo. The thatch roofed residence is surrounded by an enclosed one acre private tropical garden.

The huge arched roof captures the sea breezes from nearby La Ropa Beach. The Villa's indoor/outdoor design allows for views of the surrounding gardens from every room while still assuring privacy and climate control in individual sleeping quarters. The interior is decorated with country style antiques, Mexican crafts and a sprinkling of intimate works of art left behind by visiting artists.

“The perfect private paradise!!”

Reviewed 20 Dec 2017

We loved staying at Casa Luna so much that we never wanted to leave! We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the luscious gardens, the pool, and meeting our host Patsy. We loved being there so much that we hardly went into Zihuatanejo. However when we wanted to go into town, the very inexpensive bus was right across the street. Taxis were also easy to get there. We took full advantage of the pool everyday, and managed to swim in the ocean at least once a day as well. We loved swimming in that ocean in the evenings and around sunset. Sunsets at La Ropa were very lovely. We ate plenty of great food that we cooked in the fully stocked kitchen at Casa Luna, and we enjoyed a few meals at the nearby restaurants on the beach. The weather there was unbeatable. The person who takes care of the house, Amalia, was very sweet, accommodating, and friendly! Can't say enough about how much we loved our experience there and meeting our new (hopefully lifelong) friend and host Patsy!!

“Perfection”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2014

We loved it here. The house is gorgeous, with enclosed bedrooms under a palapa roof. All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned, but we just slept with the windows open and the fan running. The master bed was really comfortable. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are all open air, and both of the bathrooms are a combo of enclosed/open-air with plenty of privacy. The living room furniture was super comfortable, especially the hammock. We didn't cook because of all the good restaurants close by, but it would have been a pleasure to use that kitchen. It is a cook's dream! The art throughout the house is absolutely amazing, too. Amalia (sp?) is the housekeeper. She was beautiful and sweet and unobtrusive. The house was sparkly clean, thanks to her! The gardens were basically a manicured jungle. There were different flowering vines, palms, fruit trees (with fruit),and a bunch of giant shade trees. The whole compound is surrounded by a really tall fence covered in the flowering vines, so you had total privacy. The gardeners there should teach a class! The pool was perfect. We pretty much spent every afternoon there swimming and watching all the different birds and butterflies. One day a huge iguana showed up. -very cool. Having your own pool on vacation is something that everyone should experience at least once. Best of all, this house is a really short walk to La Ropa Beach. There were a bunch of restaurants to choose from within walking distance, and most of them had beach chairs and umbrellas you could use all day for a small price. The path to beautiful Playa las Gatas is very close to the house. Make sure to check it out. There were plenty of inexpensive cabs and collectivos right outside the gate to take you to town. Patsy, the owner, was really helpful when we had any questions. She's a cool lady, and any future renters will be lucky to meet her. Best vacation rental ever!

“Great vacacion in this house!”

Me and my friends stayed in Casa Luna for 9 days and it was absolutely a perfect holiday. The house is beautiful and we had just a few meters to the Playa Ropa. We felt like in a private Jungle, the common rooms of the houese are open and the bedrooms are really comfortable especially the master bed room. The large Pool and Jacuzzi made our 1 week holiday perfectly. Also the Service is great, you feel like in your own house with the service of the hotel but anyway private. The taxis are really cheap and you always find them in front of the house to get to the city centre in 5 minutes. Zihuatanejo is a great small city with good restaruants especially for fish and seafood and bars. The city has a real mexican feeling compared to its sister town Ixtapa. Who wants to make a great boat trip and goingt skorkeling or fishing should go to Poto´s Zihuatanejo Dive Center. We really had a great time and will definately come back to Zihua and Casa Luna.
