“fabulous, fabulous, fabulous...”
Just spent the august bank holiday staying in Sole Bay Cottage, perfect location, the children loved it, very well equipped cottage. Weather was great, 10 out of 10 all round!
After visiting Southwold for day trips, we decided that we would like to stay over a long weekend, to enable us to explore, the little shops and more importantly the great food available, in the numerous adams pubs. We found Sole Bay Cottage and now have stay twice; the property is very comfortable and retains many original features, which is a pleasant change from the many face contemporary BB and Hotels, Self-catering gives you the freedom to set your own time scale
“Why I fell in love with Southwold”
Sole Bay Cottage is situated on the village green in Southwold with views towards the sea. The village high street, with its mixture of 'old world' and 'new' shops is just to the rear of the house. Fabulous house in a beautiful setting - I fell in love with Southwold during my stay.
“Looking out to Sea from the front bedroom”
A pleasent house situated close to all the local amenities that Southwold has to offer.
“Lovely "family" cottage in quaint English Seaside village”
We had a wonderful family holiday at sole-bay cottage which is like a family home, fully equipped and comfortable. The location is ideal for both children and adults, close to the beach and pier, nice restaurants, famous beach huts and local brewery. Lots of places to see and visit - we had a wonderful holiday and look forward to going back there again.
“A place to keep returning to.”
I have stayed at Sole Bay Cottage twice a year for the past five years. I have been each time with my wife and we tend to go mid-summer and mid-winter. The house is ideally situated on South Green, with a very good pub next door and the sea in the not far distance. Adnams, the town's brewers, run some of the best pubs in the country, and some are situated within walking distance of the house. It is an idyllic spot and we intend visiting for many years to come.
“Central location for all amenities in Southwold”
Lovely house next to the green, and sea. It is also next to one of the excellent pubs in town which the landlady respects you privacy. Accomodation is good but in keeping with the property's age. All amenities very local, i.e. sea 100 yards, shops 50 yards etc.
“Unparalleled location and super-friendly correspondence”
We had a wonderful seaside weekend here. This isn't a place for boutique-y luxury but if you have children or are a rowdy group of college friends, you'll feel like you can relax without worrying about dropping a crumb or piling boots in the hall. The rooms were comfortable and homely, and everything was spick and span, but best of all were the location - just a stumble from the sea with no traffic to contend with - and the friendliness of the owner in all correspondence before and after.
“Brilliant place to stay with younger children - 100m from beach”
I have stayed at Sole Bay probably four times now, once as a family but three times with two other mums and five children. For both scenarios the house is excellent, being so close to the beach, with grass directly outside so the children can run around in safety. Pub right next door, great amenities in the house, and lovely Southwold itself - perfect! Planning on going back this half term with mums/daughters.
Had several holidays here with 2 small kids, parents and grandparents (6 of us). Parked the car and never needed to use it again. Shops, pubs, eating out, pier, prom and beach all on the doorstep. House had everything we needed, especially kitchen equip for cooking. Spacious and plenty of bathrooms/shower rooms/bedrooms. Some lovely memories of flying the kite on the green outside the house.
