“A very special place that feels like home”
We loved this apartment. We stayed for 2 weeks in the fall and completely lucked out on the gorgeous weather. The view over the canal was riveting. Watching all the different boats with their merry-makers float past was such a deeply engaging pastime. The location was near perfection, so close to the museums, the liveliness of the Leidseplein, the Tram stop, all the necessary amenities, and yet so peaceful, safe and elegant. Kathryn was an excellent host. She took her time explaining all about the apartment, the neighborhood, etc. She was easy and straightforward in making the arrangements and was very responsive when there was a miscommunication about which day the cleaners would come. There were some nice special touches - beautiful gladiolas in a vase, some basics like coffee waiting for our use. As previously mentioned in reviews, the spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge with luggage, but for the day to day was no problem. If there is one negative, it would be the bathroom which was on the small side and quirky in that the shower was a bit awkward. But everything was clean and in good working order. Having a real and efficient washer and dryer was SO useful. The bed was extremely comfortable which can often really make or break a stay. Overall this apartment was an EXCELLENT value.
Response from the owner Thank you Abby, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. You guys were great guests!
“everything you need...with a canal view”
This apartment's location was perfect for walking all over the city and for catching trams for restaurants out of the center. Upon arrival, our host was very welcoming and helpful in showing us the apartment. Both large rooms have beautiful canal views through large clean windows, and window seats in the living room were perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine after a day of exploration. We loved having breakfast "in" every morning and the kitchen was well supplied with pans and utensils. The location was relatively quiet. (Any canal apartment is apt to hear late night revelers on boats.) Bathroom is small, with shower/tub, but everything works well and was quite sufficient. A regular grocery and an organic grocery are located about 2 blocks away, as is the incredible Holtcamp pastry shop. Nearby restaurants include Spelt, highly recommended. Very pleased with our choice of this apartment.
We found the apartment to be absolutely lovely, the location was ideal, close to shops and transport. The facilities in the apartment were excellent. Cheryl Gray
“Comfortable and Convenient”
This lovely apartment was a pleasure to stay in with comfortable beds and a spacious living space. Kathryn could not have been more helpful and professional and the location was superb!
“We felt like royalty on the Keizersgracht!”
From arrival to departure we were thrilled with our stay in this modern and well-appointed apartment. Entered to find a vase of tulips on the dining table which, in addition to the grand view afforded by facing a wall of windows, inspired my writing each day my husband and I were there. The location was new for us but has become our favorite after staying in three other apartments and two different hotels in amsterdam. My husband and I were on a European holiday to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The conveniences in the apartment, combined with the efficiency and helpfulness of Pied-a-Terre properties, made this visit more than hassle-free - it was joyous.
“A More Than Perfect Home away From Home With Beautiful Views”
From the moment that Kathryn Wentzel from Pied a Terre Properties met us to show us around the apartment,to the minute we left for the airport, there was nothing wanting in this devine little piece of paradise overlooking the Keizergracht Canal. We can't wait to return in the summer for another dose.
