“Wonderful!!! Home away from home!!”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2015

Pat and Orlando's rental was amazingly clean and cozy, offering all the comforts of home away from home. It was quiet and peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind after our long days of seeing the sights. Our son loved the pool and large backyard to run around and play in. Pat and Orlando were very friendly and helpful in providing us with ideas on things to do locally. I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting the Niagara area!!

Response from the owner It is so nice you felt at home. I try hard to make sure my guests have everything they need. I was glad the pool was ready in time for your stay. It would be great to have you back. stay cool Pat

“Lovely place and people!”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

We stayed here for nearly a week and had a lovely visit. First, the location itself is just beautiful. It's near enough to the Falls to get there quickly, but it's not in the midst of all the tourist attractions. It's in a nice, wooded area. Second, it's incredibly well-apportioned. We bought foil to grill on, but Pat had already included everything we could possibly need -- including paper towels, tea bags, tin foil, plates, cups, utensils, soap, movies, etc. And the unit itself is very nice and well laid out as well -- it's a very nice size, with several closets, a bedroom and bathroom, a sitting area, and a kitchenette. Finally, Pat was an incredibly good hostess. She was always very responsive (both when I was trying to make the reservation and after) and helpful. Even when we accidentally set off the fire alarm and requested that she mail back some clothes we'd left, Pat remained very pleasant and professional. She went far above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay a good one. We really and truly appreciated it.

Response from the owner Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was really nice meeting the three of you. All the best.

“Fantastic place to stay.”

My husband I stayed here for a month. We have always traveled by motorhome in the past and this year we sold it and were looking for a place to stay to escape the Texas heat. We lucked out and found this place. Almost immediately we felt like we were home. The apartment is decorated very nicely. It is spotlessly clean. Pat and Orlando are wonderful hosts. The patio is delightful and we entertained friends out there and also spent many mornings having my morning tea with Pat. It is perfect for a couple and for us the small steps leading to it and the handrail were great for my husband as he has some mobility issues. The kitchen is small but very nicely stocked and easy to use. We had not problem fixing meals. The BBQ was very nice and we used it most of the time. Of course, we were there for a month and so ate out often and found many nearby restaurants to be very good. We enjoyed the nearby village of Chippawa and went to concerts in the square every Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower great. I would like to maybe balance my comments with something I did not like but there was nothing. It is close to Niagara but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Saw deer a couple times on my morning walk. If you stay here you wont be disappointed.

Response from the owner Hello Marylou, Thanks so much for the wonderful review. I am glad to see you made it home safely. I enjoyed are morning coffee's as well. It was nice meeting you both, you were both wonderful guests. Take care and all the best. Hope to see you again. Pat & Orlando

“Pleasant stay”

Very nice place, ideally located next to the Niagara Falls. The location of the house is really idyllic: in the middle of a small forest with beautiful houses. One caveat, however: there is a discomfort when we arrived with our hosts who were very distant and elusive throughout our stay sending us little speech, we do not quite understand their attitude. We thought we could share a little more but it was in vain. Shame!

Response from the owner Hello Crystelle, I'm sorry you felt that way because that is definitely not the case. We do work everyday out of the house so were gone by early morning and arrive at 6-7 pm at night. So we are not always around. I do leave my cell should anyone need anything and we are usually around on the weekends. We enjoy are guests very much.

Pat and Orlando were great hosts. Pat made sure that we had all that we needed even being prepared for my early arrival. They made us feel very welcome, letting us you the pool, grill and many of the multiple amenities that they had on their property. They also sat out with us and talked to us like we were family. Had a great time and maybe one day we will be back.

“Good place for a couple. Highly recommened.”

Very Clean, organize, well maintain and good privacy. Wife loves it, good enough for only a couple. Very piece full and quiet. Thank you for this wonderful stay.

“Amazing stay! Can't wait til next time!”

Absolutely wonderful! Pat made us feel right at home! The place was spotless and beautiful and truly felt like a home away from home. Pat was knowledgeable about the area and the home was filled with little touches that show just how much pat cares about her guests stay. Location was close enough to falls to be convenient but tucked away enough to be away from the hustle and bustle and to be able to enjoy the quiet country charm. We will definitely be back!

“Lovely place to stay - lovely setting; lovely people.”

Small, but very comfortable with lots of amenities. Lovely setting. Easy access. Close to Niagara Falls, but far enough to not be in the middle of hubbub. Very nice people. Beautiful property.

“Home From Home.”

Reviewed 22 May 2013

Pat's Country Home is best described as 'Bijou', and is a little bigger than it looks in the photos. There is Wi-fi though this sometimes dropped out, but not a major problem for us. The actual accommodation is located at the back and right of the main house in the photo & is joined onto it (what we in Britain would call a 'Granny flat'). It overlooks a spacious garden which is very tidy which includes a pool, a large trampoline and even an outdoor grill, none of which we used. Living room was tidy and spacious enough and has a double sofa-bed which we found to be very comfortable. Pat, & her husband, gave us privacy (not even to pass in front of the part of the house we were staying in; not that we would have minded because they were both very friendly and amenable when we did see them!) Everything that most would need for a couple of weeks stay was included inside; Filter coffee maker, (with filters), pots, pats, crockery, kitchenware & utensils, a small desk-top oven/grill & even some tea, coffee & sugar were included (which was a nice touch!) The kitchen is part of the living area, but off to one side as you would expect. The cooker (with extraction fan and light above) has 2 rings & was contained as part of the sink and fridge unit & I initially thought that this might be a problem but in the end 2 of the best meals I've ever eaten were cooked there, so no problems at all! There is a small freezer section in fridge but is perfectly adequate for a short stay. The house is situated about 12 miles over the us border in a very quiet area and is easy to get to there if you have a car (as my U.S. fiancée did) though might be a problem if you fly in to Toronto or Hamilton as I did, & don't have one, otherwise it's really easy to get to Niagara Falls and the local stores and cinema etc. Main bedroom/bed were very comfortable and it, the bathroom and the rest of the house, was extremely clean (I know, I'm a cleaner!). Liked best? The quiet. Liked least? Leaving!

Response from the owner Hello Neil, Thanks for your wonderful review. We would be glad to have you both back. Who knows maybe for your honey moon. all the best, Pat
