“Perfect Private Oasis”
My wife and I recently stayed at Villa Adioso the first week of April. Jay the owner was very easy to work with and took the time to send us pages of information about Isla and all it has to offer. He responded to any questions we had prior to leaving within hours. We felt totally comfortable and safe anywhere on the island. As for the Villa itself it exceeded our expectations. It was nicely furnished and the open floor plan was a plus as you could see the ocean from every room. From the time you walk thru the front door you are drawn to the ocean, the views are spectacular. There is lots of natural light that enters the house throughout the day. The ocean breeze keeps the condo cool and every room has a ceiling fan. We never used the air conditioning. We lived in the downstairs bedroom but there is a separate bedroom upstairs with it's own private entrance. There are balconys on every level and hammocks under the palapa on the roof with views of the ocean on one side and the Cancun skyline on the other. I could go on and on about Villa Adioso. If you are looking for a place that is close to town (walking distance) but yet seems miles away when you are there this is it.
“Such a beautiful place”
We just returned after staying at Jay's wonderful Villa for two weeks. We arrived and were so impressed with how spacious and welcoming the Villa was. We were there with another couple and it was so nice to have so much room to enjoy. This is the first place I have stayed in Mexico that actually had enough space to accommodate your clothing and personal belongings. Good closet space and places to put everything away. Having the washer and dryer was also a big plus, no lugging home dirty clothes. The kitchen was so well equipped that we were able to entertain several times and not have to worry about how to prepare food. Jay has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. Loved having the breeze from the caribbean and never had to use the AC once in two weeks. Loved hearing the waves at night. I could go on and on about how wonderful the property is and how gracious Jay is. You really need to experience it yourself.
“So very awesome...accomodations, views, weather.”
We arrived on the island to a wonderfully welcoming home. With open windows and doors, this house could not have a more tropical feeling. We loved the views from every balcony (five total), and the wonderful hammocks on the rooftop palapa. We found the home to be clean, fully stocked and comfortable. There were comfortable deck chairs for enjoying morning coffee and afternoon drinks. The pool was great to dip in after a couple of warm days spent climbing around on the seawalls and swimming in the waters by the house. Although close enough to walk in to town, we rented a golf cart to get to all the hidden island charms. We loved everything about this this island and the home we rented. The people at Isla were very friendly and accomodating. Jay Levine, the owner, made some great recommendations and gave us good tips for our travel. We ate out some, we cooked some and we met so many interesting people. Loved discovering some interesting nooks for food and drink. Loved the views. Did I mention we loved the house? I picked Jay's house based on the accomodations our group needed, plus the price and then the reviews. Notice I call the owner Jay, as if we were old, old friends. Between the time we rented Villa Adiosa and our stay there, we became as close as friends. Would we go back there? Yes, yes, yes.
“This was such a great experience, I almost don't want to share!!”
We've just returned from an all-Girls trip to Isla Mujeres, an early Mother's Day celebration, and we stayed at Jay and Liz's house - Villa adioso! From start to finish, I don't think there could have been a better experience - Jay is absolutely wonderful to work with, and takes care of every single little detail... I don't think there are enough superlatives to cover our time there, but I'll give it my best shot!! My Mom kept saying that if she died today, it would be just fine because she loved it so very much!! The house was perfect for our group of 5 girls, and even an impromptu mini-reunion with old school friends who now live in the Cancun and Tulum areas, whom we hadn't seen in 37 years! The 2 bed-2 bath layout worked well, and we used one of the aero-beds upstairs during the 3 days when there were actually all 5 of us girls in the house - by the way, just as comfy as the other beds! The upstairs area (balcony/patio) was perfect for the after-lunch reunion with our old friends, and very comfortably allowed us to entertain 8 extra people for a few hours - we were able to watch the sunset over Cancun while the kids dipped in the pool! Jay's kitchen is well equipped so that we usually only ate out once a day and made the other meal at home - the island has a relatively new huge grocery store (kinda like a WalMart with produce) so we kept groceries in the house. We could make a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the back of the house (spectacular), and in the evenings, go to the other side and watch the sunset (beautiful)! Jay was very helpful in giving you all kinds of tips and suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc. He was always available via either phone, email, or text message! As far as we're concerned, until we purchase a place of our own on Isla Mujeres, Jay and Liz's house will be the only place we'll stay!! Thanks again, Jay, for taking such great care of us and for sharing your beautiful home - the pictures do not do it justice!
Response from the owner This was the best review you could write? :). What can I say other than our home is your home (until you buy your own) and thrilled that we could be a part of such a special surprise for special people. Muchas gracias and until next time!!!
“Relaxing and rejuvenating!”
My partner and I spent a blissful seven nights at Villa adioso in March. As much as we adore (!) the island, we must confess that we spent most of our time right at the Villa. Waking up to the warmth of the sun, coffee on the terrace, tanning, reading, playing cribbage, listening to the waves, feeling the constant Caribbean breezes, plunging in the wee pool (which was refreshing and heavenly!), napping, the clear, starry sky at night. All in all, one of the most enjoyable reprieves from life that we've ever had. Many thanks to Jay and Liz! We will cherish the memories made in your lovely ocean front home.
“Perfect & Idyllic”
Everything was as described and I concur with the previous reviews. The photos cannot do justice to how gorgeous the house is in reality. I used the upper bedroom and fell asleep, cooled by the sea breezes and the sound of the waves. We made use of the inflatable mattresses and they were as comfortable as beds. Jay, a big thanks and we hope to return!
“Great House, great location, great food”
This is the first time I have rented a place where it exceeded expectations. Now that I am back in the bitter Minnesota winter, I am wondering why I didn't stay longer!!! The owners, Jay and Liz, were extremely helpful to the point of emailing me where the extra blankets were located because they saw the weather was a little chilly (FYI low 70s!!)
“a time for renewal!”
In this fabulous villa you will feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and renewed. The tranquil ocean view allows one to get lost in the surrounding beauty. The villa is open and spacious. You can feel the ocean breeze and hear the music of the ocean while enjoying your time in the living area, bedroom, kitchen, or upper deck. The villa supplies all the necessities - kitchen supplies, great reads, beach towels, coziness, and more. I traveled their with 3 gal friends for a summer girl trip. We all felt safe and comfortable in "our home away from home". You really do feel at home... The owner , Jay, and his family make sure of that! Jay goes above and beyond to accommodate his guests. He was available (by phone) our whole trip to answer any question we had. We also got more of a "local" experience due to Jay's recommendations of the must do's and eats! - the insider scoop ;) ) If you would like to explore the city's attractions, the villa is in an excellent location. a 5 min cab ride will get you where you need to go. I say yes yes yes to Villa adios. I hope to visit again soon! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
“Magical island experience in Villa adioso”
My husband, another couple and I have returned from a 2 wk. stay - one heavenly week spent in this wonderful 2 bedroom ocean front villa on Isla. Jay was very attentive in helping to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We loved the location of this house with the ocean breeze -no need to use the air conditioning, the 15 min. walk to town down along boardwalk. From the many decks and views we enjoyed sunrises on the ocean front deck to sunrises on the Palapa roof top deck. We loved the option of cooking in the full kitchen, but a highlight was savouring international cuisine daily that Jay recommended on the island. Appreciated the many amenities the house had to offer down to the yoga mats and hammocks, and being able to use laundry facilities before scooting off for our second week. Other than the internet being down (which was certainly not that big of deal) I would definately recommend staying in this villa, helping create a magical island experience.
We stayed at Villa adioso in January. We have traveled to Isla Mujeres around this time for 6 years now and love it. Jay's home was everything we had hoped for and Jay was so helpful with everything going on there. Over the past six years, we have seen the island change quite a bit. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We have stayed at different locations each year but have now found our home away from home. Jay-we are permanently on your annual calendar for the last week of January!!!
