“A Hidden Gem”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2011

My husband and I drove down the Dalmatian coast from Split to Kotor, passing Dubrovnik as the sun set and entering into Montenegro at full dark. This apartment is roughly 1.25 hours beyond the border in Kotor, and we were exhausted from the travel and a bit unnerved by the terrible drivers we encountered. However, we were met at the door to the apartment, shown nearby parking, and escorted up into a lovely, peaceful haven. The view from the apartment at night is stunning; the walls of the fortress are lit up and reflected back in the waters of the bay. It was hard to close the shutters on such a view. The apartment itself is spacious, features a well-stocked kitchen and a nice library of DVD movies and books. There is a full-sized stove and fridge, microwave oven and washer/dryer combo unit, making this one of the best-equipped vacation rentals I've ever stayed at. The bedroom is cozy and the bed and linens quite nice. It seems a bit of a ways from town at first but the walk is short; dodging traffic and seeking the sidewalk which randomly changes sides of the road is your only concern. There's a small market just down the street but we never went there as there's a larger market just a ten minute walk away, and lovely shopping at the Kamelija, about a 20 minute walk away from the apartment. Wonderful hiking abounds in the area; the trip to the fort's summit is a must-do, and there's a very intriguing path that goes behind the fort, up to the next ridge and continues on for some 44 kms. It used to be the only access into the city. Kotor is not sold out to tourism and retains a flavour all it's own. We very much enjoyed our stay and would like to explore the region further. This apartment is the perfect base to do so from.

“Beautiful apartment- Amazing View”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2010

We stayed here for 4 nights in March and we were very sorry to leave! It is in a beautiful stone building and once you come inside it is lovely and modern. The views out of the four windows are fabulous, looking over to Kotor Old Town. It has everything you need such as towels, hairdryer, iron etc and dvds. It also has brochures with local restaurants details to help you decide where to go and what to do.We were able to park outside with no problem, and the walk to the town was just over 5 minutes which was perfect. We had to stay for an extra night due to the Ba strike and this was no trouble at all. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone.
