“The perfect apartment for a week in Paris”
This apartment was ideal for our 1 week holiday in Paris. We found it very comfortable and well appointed with the owner having thoughtfully equipped it out to meet all our needs. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival after being punctually met and shown in by the owner's helpful agents. The location was ideal with a range of local shops, a quality supermarket and a park within a few minutes walk. A choice of buses and metro lines all within an easy (5-10) minutes walk went to all the attractions within Paris we wanted to see. Yet the apartment was very quiet, bright and airy being on the 5th level(there is a lift to the flat door) within a very secure older apartment complex. Infact we slept with the windows open with no concern about noise or security.
“Well appointed lovely apartment within easy walking distance of so much”
My sister and I stayed in this well appointed, very comfortable lovely apartment. Close to everything. Will stay again on my next visit to Paris. Very good directions and instructions and handy hints for local shops and market
Response from the owner Delighted you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you stay again. Yvonne
“Great place for really living Paris”
It's has been our 3rd or 4th stay in this well equipped and clean small apartment - excellent location, clean, all is functioning well - really nice.
We stayed here just after 'Charlie' and despite the overwhelming sadness of the timing, the frosty temperatures and the occasional rain, we thorougly enjoyed our beautiful, 'tres chic' apartment. The elegant decor and appointment of the apartment had everything in the way of acoutrements: lovely and plush white towels, beautiful views out to the courtyard and rooftop chimneys, wifi, wine glasses, storage, comfy couches and guide books. Fantastic location! Proximity to many art galleries was an absolute delight: including the Centre Pompidou ( a 15 minute walk straight down Rue de Temple), Musee des Arts et Metiers, (out the apartment gate, right, then right and straight down about 10 minutes), Picasso Musee (very near the ultra-elegant, Place des Vosges) ...Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame (a bit longer walk but lovely along the river) You will be moments from a range of fine shopping which isjust down the road, in almost any direction - along Rue de Temple: the department store - BHV (Bazaar d'Hotel de Ville), numerous little one-of-a-kind boutiques and a pleasant walk or metro ride to major shopping destinations such as the Champs Elysees. Yvonne (the lovely owner) couldn't have been more helpful. Her recommendations for dining were gorgeous: 'Chez Omar', (Moroccan fantastic, bustling and so much fun!) just opposite the apartment exit to the street, across the road to the right of the square/park and very near (not even 5 minutes' walk). Check out the 'Enfants Rouge' Market place, full of wonderful treats right there or to take away. The cheese shop outside is beautiful too. There is a grocery store towards Place de la Republique, a sweet bakery about 4 doors to the left of the street exit and I could go on and on. It was divine and we will go back! Merci beaucoup pour tous. Highly recommend this to anyone traveling alone or with one other.
Response from the owner Delighted you enjoyed yourselves! It would be my pleasure to have you stay again. Yvonne
“Third Stay in the Marais”
This was our third stay in this apartment. It definitely feels like coming home when we arrive there. Making arrangements to stay in this apartment are always easy as is the check-in process. The apartment has everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. There is a market across the street, cafés in all directions and three Metro stops all close by. I look forward to staying there again.
“Nice, clean apartment in a good location.”
The apartment is a good size according to European standards. Bed was nice and comfortable, and the apartment had nice amenities, such as free wifi, full kitchen, washer/dryer, heater, cable, etc. The only downsides were that the laundry dryer did not work too well; either that or I didn't use it correctly (it's a small washer and dryer in one, very different from the U.S.). Also, the apartment complex elevator wasn't always working so had to walk up 5 or 6 floors a couple of times, which wasn't that bad compared to the stairs at the Notre Dame and Arc de Triomphe. With that said, I would def recommend this apartment, excellent overall!
Response from the owner Hello Jin, Thank you for your very kind review of the apartment. Regarding the dryer, I am presently waiting for the supplier to deliver a spare part for it. Unfortunately some French industries don’t understand the meaning of service! I also want to apologise for your difficulties with the lift during your stay. The residents association has organized an entire upgrade of the lift for 2015. In the meantime the technicians are very accommodating and come out immediately whenever they’re required. Yvonne
When opting for a holiday apartment rental, we are always a little anxious about whether the apartment will meet its advertised promises. Definitely, this apartment surpasses expectations! The large outer street door opens into a lovely courtyard; the elevator takes care of any concerns we had about carrying our luggage. The apartment itself is quiet, bright and spacious … in Paris, where space is a very expensive luxury. We are seniors and it is important to us that the location is central and safe. It’s all that plus alive and interesting. A rather famous crepe restaurant cited in all the guide books is a mere 10 minute walk away. Making plans to return ….
“Always a wonderful stay, best location, super apartment”
This was our second time back at Yvonne's apartment. It's the absolute ideal location for chilling out in the fashionable Marais and with great access to the metro. The apartment itself is ideal for self-catering, clean, modern, everything you need, comfortable and has a really good atmosphere in a nice old block. You feel both on holiday and at home. We spent a lot of time just sitting in the Square du Temple opposite and also eating and drinking on the streets around it -- these bars don't really have that many tourists but lots of French people, which is always the best sign for an authentic Paris stay. There's nothing bad to say about this apartment at all, would definitely return here.
“Perfect Parisian Pad”
We highly recommend this nicely located apartment in the vibrant Marais district, an easy walk to the very centre of Paris. The apartment comes with everything you could need for a home away from home including an excellent wifi connection. There was also prompt and friendly communication from the owner and the young lady who met us at the apartment (Fanny), who spoke flawless English. Thanks for a great stay
Response from the owner Thank you Wayne. Delighted you enjoyed yourselves. Yvonne
“perfect homebase from which to explore Paris”
This is a delightful apartment up in the rooftops of Paris. It was the perfect set-up for a mother-daughter trip. I got the bedroom and my daughter got the pull-out couch in the living room (which she said was very comfortable). There is a nice dining table for meals, and a decent kitchen. Everything one needs. Most important, it is quiet. Very, very quiet. And very private. It's on the 5th floor of a 6-floor apartment building. This is not a hardship because there is an elevator. For those concerned about security, it is secure. You need 2 codes to access the building, one for the main courtyard and a second for the building itself. There is a washer/dryer which was very helpful since we were traveling light. All of the equipment in the apartment are explained in a detailed guidebook, so we had no trouble using them. The wi-fi (wee-fee in France) was great. Location, location, location. This place has it. You are a few blocks from the arts and Metiers metro stop. This gets you anywhere in Paris quickly (buy a pass). I can't praise the Paris metro enough. We never stood on the platform for more than a few minutes. And it literally took us everywhere and seamlessly interfaced with the railroad. But the apartment also had a good location because it's a great place to wander the Marais district from on foot. It's even within walking distance of Notre Dame and close to Place de Republique. Food! There are many good options within a few blocks of this apartment. On rue de Bretagne, around the corner, is Chez Omar, with wonderful algerian food. On the same street are sushi, 2 Italian delies, a fabulous rotisserie chicken place, patisseries, wine stores, MonoPrix, and the Marche Les Enfants Rouge (a covered market/eating place with lots of options). After a long day of exploring Paris, it is delightful to bring back new-found delicacies to eat at home.
Response from the owner Delighted you enjoyed yourselves Jeanne. Regards, Yvonne
