“Perfect stay in a perfect house owned by lovely people”
Great location. Beautiful traditional house. Close to all amenities but in a quiet and peaceful area. A stones throw away from the beach, shops and restaurants. Small patio area is a sun trap. David the owner couldn't be more accommodating and helpful. He even organised our taxis, met various guests who arrived at separate times to let them in and explain things. Comfortable rooms with everything that you need.
“Central to everything yet delightfully peaceful”
Our host, David, kindly organised a driver on my request to transfer from airport to the door. Set in a quiet street it proved the perfect location for a group of five. Close to restaurants and the centre of town is three minutes walk away. It was surprisingly quiet. The closest beach for a refreshing swim was also about three minutes walk. We were met on arrival by David who gave us a guided tour of the house and immediate area, recommending various restaurants all of which proved to be excellent. Rooms in the house clean and comfortable, the courtyard is a delight to entertain small groups (keep it quiet though as families live closeby). I intend returning.
“Great Location and homely comfort”
We had a great stay at the house. Very comfortable and fully equiped for all needs. Lovely courtyard for relaxing with beer and glass of wine. Local shops fab and close to superb restaurants. Will be back again soon. Thank you David for looking after us so well.
“Comfortable and homely with access to all amenities of Cascais”
Enjoyed out stay very much. The house made a comfortable base from which to explore Cascais and the surrounding area. It was much better value than a hotel - and much better with children than a hotel would be. The owner of the house (David) showed us around the town on arrival and helped us get our bearings. The best thing about the house is its location - within the atmosphere of the old town, but close to the fishermans beach and the centre of Cascais.
“Perfect location for a holiday in Cascais”
Couldn't ask for a better location in Cascais - everything is within such easy reach there's no need for a car. The beach is just a 2 minute walk away, and lots of cafes and restaurants too. It's perfect for a family holiday - our small children had a ball, alternating between mornings at the beach and afternoons in the wonderful park (including a great kids' play park) which is just 500m in the other direction. The house is homely with a rustic charm, with fantastically comfortable beds, plus DVD, wifi etc. There's a handy courtyard with table & chairs for sitting/eating outside too. David was a really welcoming host, sorted out airport transfers for us, pointed out some lovely local restaurants (Paula's at No 28 is particularly good) and arranged for the owner of the grocery store a few doors down to open up on our first day (a Sunday) so we could buy bread & milk etc. We've got family in Cascais so visit frequently and have stayed in a few different places - this is definitely our favourite and we'll not be looking anywhere else for future holidays.
“Great stay, apartment needs updating.”
Cascais is fabulous. David and Teresa, our landlords, were very friendly and very responsive to all our needs. The location is perfect, and we loved our Portuguese neighbors. The only negative thing we could say is that the apartment needs some updating.
Response from the owner In May 2013 we put a new floor in the living/dining areas and in the hall. Painted the walls downstairs and the patio. New dining room chairs and a new fridge were added. In June there'll be new windowns downstairs. July - new french windows & another new window have been fitted, and new furniture.
“Great house in a great location.”
A great house in a great location with a very useful courtyard garden. Everything is close by - beaches, restauarants and railway station.
“Great location, well equipped house made a wonderful holiday.”
5 minutes from the beach, 2 minutes from restaurants, 1 minute from a small shop, 5 minutes from a park with a very well equipped childrens play area along with a comfortable house makes this an ideal property. David is also a most welcoming host. We had a wonderful holiday and would wholeheartedly recommend this property.
“Great house in superb location”
Great house in a great location. What's special is the small courtyard in front of the house which makes it possible to enjoy the warm evenings in Portugal. Also your priority of having good beds (at least the 4 out of the 5) in the house was valued very high by us all.A bit authetic kitchen, but it works and have all necesary facilities for holiday cooking.
We stayed here the end o July /early august. This was our second visit to Cascais and we used this accommodation both times. The house is very central. We had restaurants on our doorstep,a public park across the road and the beach and town centre are less than 5 min walk.Ideal i you dont want to drive. Cascais is a great location with lots to offer and 35min from Lisbon by train.Weather in 2009 was a perfect steady 25/7c but this year was a bit hot at times.
