This award-winning, top-rated Visitscotland 5 Star holiday Retreat is credited with being the most romantic and best located self-catering cottage in the area. A beautifully decorated and spacious house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it has a traditional log burning Hot Tub and is totally private with stunning open views south over the Strathearn Valley. Yet only 10 minutes from Scotland's best Restaurant, The Gleneagles Hotel/Spa and Golf Courses and the Scenic Scottish Highlands. It is the perfect location for a holiday in Perthshire, Scotland!

The Retreat is reached by private access and is surrounded by the picturesque landscape of Trinity Gask Estate with its private woodlands, ponds and Salmon Fishing on the River Earn.

This beautiful cottage has been lovingly restored and successfully marries the charm of a traditional stone house with the best progressive eco-build practices. Relax and enjoy the benefits of sleeping in a breathable, allergy free house with solid oak wooden floors and underfloor heating.

Guests at the Retreat can enjoy a fabulous Hot Tub with incredible views and play Tennis on a new Astro/artificial grass Tennis Court. The court is a short distance from the cottage and has the same stunning views across the Strathearn Valley. See photo gallery for a photograph of the beautiful court.

Enjoy the feeling of a luxury stay with fluffy Hot Tub ROBES and SLIPPERS, free access to SKY sports and entertainment packages, NESPRESSO coffee machine and capsules. A food welcome pack, luxury toiletries and household goods are all included in the rental.

The extremely spacious interior of this special cottage is simple, fresh and contemporary. There is a large, high-ceilinged, open-plan kitchen/living area with a stylish contemporary kitchen complete with a large dining table for 8. In the living area, large comfortable leather sofas are perfect for stretching out on in front of the open fire.

There are two Spacious Bedrooms:

The Double has two windows with views West (perfect for evening sun) towards woodlands and Ben Vorlich. The superking bed is extremely comfortable and is made up with crisp Egyptian cotton linen.

Both bedrooms have more than ample hanging and shelf space and come with hairdryers.

The large Double Bedroom is high-ceilinged and extremely bright, 2 east and 1 south windows provide uninterrupted views across the valley.

The Family Bathroom has a big doubled ended bath, separate walk in shower and is stocked with organic shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion.

There is also a beautiful new en suite shower room from the Double Bedroom with a large walk in shower and amazing south views and a door on to a superb garden terrace.

Adjacent to the back door is a separate outhouse, which is the perfect washing and drying room. There is a large stainless steel sink, washing machine, an overhead pulley and underfloor heating. Spacious, airy and warm, it is the ideal place for pets to sleep when they are not in the garden. Please note that pets are not allowed in the house at any time due to our allergy-free status.

For your entertainment there is a 37" HD flat screen smart TV with Sky sports and entertainment packages included. A DVD, Ipod docking station and CD/radio player and a karaoke machine! There is a good selection of games and an abundance of touring, walking and cycling maps as well as interesting books on Scottish wildlife, history and culture.

For those that enjoy touring, the Retreat is well positioned to visit many top tourist attractions. The Glenturret Whiskey Distillery, Stirling Castle, Drummond Castle Gardens, Perth and Scone Palace are only 15 minutes from the cottage.

Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews can all be reached within an hour... making The Retreat an ideal base for a holiday in Scotland!

Getting around

The Retreat is conveniently located within an hour of Edinburgh and Glasgow airports and 30 minutes from Dundee airport. Gleneagles train station is 15 minutes away and Perth train station is 20 minutes away from the cottage.

Interaction with guest

On the arrival day, Lisa the owner will arrange to meet you at the cottage to show you everything that you need to know and also help with local information and recommendations. Lisa lives on the Estate and is always on hand to help with anything that will make your stay more enjoyable.

Dogs are welcome but due to our allergy free status no pets are allowed in the house at any time.
We have a drying/utility room which is bright and spacious with underfloor heating which works well for dogs when they are not in the large enclosed garden surrounding the property.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mrs (the owner) a message.

If Mrs (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
