“Perfect away from it all escape - with all the luxuries of home!”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2015

We were two couples and two dogs and absolutely loved The Retreat. It is set in glorious countryside and completely on its own - apart from the odd deer and numerous birds and other wildlife. Inside you have everything you can possible need. My partner is a 'foodie' and loves to cook and even he found every implement and pan he needed. Despite going in May the weather was typically Scottish and we loved the log fire which was very easy to light and made the lounge very cosy. (There is very efficient underfloor central heating a well) We just wished the weather had been kinder so we could have sat out and enjoyed the huge garden and sun lounger! The surrounding area is ideal for walks and close to places to buy provisions. The drying room/dog room is heated and has a washing machine in it as well as dog bed, bowls etc Unfortunately our pooches did not like being barred from the main house but that is because they are totally spoiled and we appreciate the owners' decision to keep the house allergy friendly for others. Fantastic experience and we would totally recommend!

“Fantastic!”

Reviewed 13 May 2015

My husband myself and our 18 month old daughter had a fantastic break at The Retreat. Perfect from start to finish. Arrived to a very warm welcome from Lisa, there was even a pot of tea made and cookies waiting on us very thoughtful indeed. The Property itself is truly stunning inside and out. Very spacious open plan living room and kitchen with all mod cons and every piece of equipment you could ever need. Double bedroom and twin room good size and spotless. Our daughter loved all the toys that were there again another lovely touch and very thoughtful. Breathtaking views from every window from the property and so peaceful too. We didn't want to leave and wished we'd booked a longer break so a return is imminent very very soon. We would recommend this property in a heartbeat, we have stayed in many 5* self catering properties and this is up there with the best. Thanks Again Lisa hope to see you soon.

Response from the owner Thank you very much for the lovely review. I was delighted to hear that you all enjoyed your stay and we will look forward to welcoming you back again!

“The Retreat”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2015

A fantastic place to stay. Idyllic surroundings with breathtaking views. Watched the deer feeding in the adjacent fields. The Retreat is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard It was snowing when we arrived and the open log fire had already been lit by the housekeeper. There was a very nice welcome pack and we immediately felt relaxed and 'at home.' We used the tennis court which was very good. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!!

“The perfect accommodation for a vacation in Scotland”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2014

The Retreat is the ideal accommodation for a relaxing trip to Scotland. Beautiful and calm location, very cosy and very clean. Conveniently located in order to visit many highlights in Scotland. Great service by Lisa before, during and after our stay. The best vacation of ours for many, many years. Highly recommendable!!!!

“A hidden gem in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2014

We were very impressed with the cottage, in a beautiful setting it's suitable if you want to get out and about or just relax and soak up the atmosphere. The owners, Lisa and Jamie, are friendly and attentive and keen to ensure you have everything you need to make your stay memorable. There is lots of information about amenities and places of interest to visit as well as walks and things to look for locally. The dog loved the freedom of a large safe garden and soon got used to the heated outhouse which came complete with dog basket and bowls just to ensure he felt welcome too. Can't recommend this cottage highly enough :)

“A truly amazing and chilled place to stay”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat. Lisa, Jamie and Pamela made us feel extremely welcome. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside and even although it is only a short distance from Perth you really feel away from it all. The cottage itself is very well kitted out and Lisa, Jamie and Pamela create a home from home that allows you to relax. The large secluded garden allows you to take in the breathtaking landscape. There are great walks on the doorstep and is ideally located for anyone wanting to explore the area. The Eco credentials of the cottage are impressive and the cottage is a lovely place to chill. We would definitely recommend The Retreat to others and we'll definitely be back.

“A wonderful Holiday”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2014

We spent 5 wonderful days at The Retreat in February. The owners had thought of everything and more. We love holidaying in Scotland and staying at the Retreat made our holiday even more special. The location is perfect and even with two children aged 7 and 2 we felt completely relaxed. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic cottage, you will find yourself surrounded by beautiful scenery and only a short drive to the main towns and cities. The city of Perth has so much to offer families with young children. I would recommend the Retreat to anybody, it really is a perfect cottage in a perfect location - what more could you wish for .

“Confortable and romantic shelter fully immerged in the nature”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2014

The service has been excellent. The cottage is provided with all the possible conforts, all works perfectly and the owners, and their collaborators, are very kind. The cottage is perfectly situated from the principal roads which permits to easily reach the historical sites. We have spent wonderful days and the around nature has completed the perfect permanence in the cottage.

“Great Weekend”

“Does much more than what it says on the tin :-)”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2014

It would be easy enough to patch up a bothy and let the beautiful location do the talking. However Lisa and Jamie have gone so much further than this. The Retreat has been thought through incredibly well. I am a fastidious foodies type (or so I am told) and found the place faultless... and I mean faultless. The kitchen is so excellently equipped and laid out it really inspired us to take full advantage of the excellent local produce. As we got to know the place we spotted so many unexpected touches beyond all of the advertised goodness... fresh flowers, chocolates, local eggs, regional books and guides (perfect for time by the fire), champagne flutes, umbrellas by the door (this is Scotland afterall), ... in fact we thought about going out to one of the local eateries for one night of our stay... for about five minutes and then elected to do that the next time we stay at The Retreat.
