“Amazing property with fabulous views and privacy”
I stayed with a friend for 1 week at Bukura Beach House. Robyn organised a driver to pick us up at the airport and we used him all week for tours and transport. This was easier and cheaper than hiring a car for the week. The family who manage the property warmly met us and attended to any questions or issues we had immediately. The weather wasn't great during our stay so we really appreciated having a house with a well appointed kitchen, books and DVDs to choose from. The whole house is beautiful, private, well appointed and beautiful views. We felt very spoilt and relaxed a lot more than if we had been staying in a resort. The guest information we were given by Robyn was extensive and made our stay easy. She also recommended some nice restaurants and things to do. Thankyou so much for sharing your beautiful house. We felt like we were on retreat.
“Best place to stay in Vanuatu!”
Spent five days here after New Years and absolutely loved it! Very relaxing and excellent facilities. Loved going to sleep listening to the waves and having BBQs. The swimming hole is perfect and very refreshing! Will definitely be back at some stage in the near future!
“Great value and a fabulous property!”
This was my fourth visit to the property and it continues to provide beautiful gardens and a high standard of fit out inside. I just love arriving through the gates and being greeted by Obed and Eki the caretakers who are incredibly proud of the property and have worked there for about 8 years. Everything seems to look better every time I visit! The ocean pool is fabulous and such a great place for a refreshing swim, and snorkeling on the reef is the best I have experienced anywhere around the island. Love the location as the view is amazing (keep an eye out for dolphins while you're eating breakfast!) and the fact that it is nice and quiet and away from the traffic of Port Vila. The Information provided by the owner, Robin, is very comprehensive and even though I have been here many times there is always something new that Robin updates in the Info Sheet. It's also very clear the utmost thought has been put into the property, down to the smallest details. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided and really makes you feel at home. I particularly like how well decked out the kitchen is, perfect for cooking up a feast for your group. If you need it, Robin has probably provided it! There's lots to do in the area if you like - try The Summit for amazing gardens; The Mele Cascades for a swim; Mele Beach Bar for movies on the beach, fireshow and acrobat show. We found the restaurant at Island Magic to be great and another trip on the Congoola was just as memorable as the last. Looking forward to my next visit!
“Stunning House and Location”
It was my first trip to Vanuatu and I was very lucky to stay in such a fantastic house in a beautiful location. I'm not much of a swimmer but loved the ocean pool which is part of the grounds. Watching the cruise ships come in at night all lit up was amazing. We found lots to do - loved Villa Chaumiere and the Congoola sailing was magic. Obed and Eki were fabulous hosts and the grounds are so relaxing. Very good information provided from Robin the owner- Thanks for making my trip so enjoyable.
“Our first review and we should not do it!”
We have stayed in some beautiful places around the world. This is right at the top! Bukura Beach house is simply awesome. There is no other way to describe it. From the initial contact with all the helpful advice from Robin the owner, to the warm welcome for Eki and Obed and their discretion and helpfulness throughout the stay,, to the beautiful views, the VERY spacious accommodation, the ocean swimming pool, the landscaped gardens, it just went on and on. Then there is the beautiful countryside, the sights and the people of Vanuatu. Truly paradise. The reason we should not do the review- the more people that know about how wonderful Bukura Beach House is, the less chance it will be available when we want to come back!
“beautiful place in a nice quiet location”
we stayed here with a 2yo child and another couple which suited us really well. the house was in great condition and the gardens very well looked after. the family that look after the house have three young children that our daughter loved playing with too. the pool in the reef was great, it would have been nice to have some sand though to sit on and make sandcastles. if you are staying it would be advisable to rent a car as taxis and buses would be challenging in this location, and if arriving at night it is difficult to find along a dark bumpy road. the facilities are well maintained, the hot water needed a bit of tweaking but worked that out after a couple of days. i would recommend staying here as adults or family groups, you would just need to keep an eye on children as there are no fences surrounding beach side of the property.
Response from the owner A note for potential guests and to avoid disappointment: this property has a 'no small children' policy for the reason this guest has mentioned - easy access to the water - and the standard of the fit-out.
“Peace and space in Vanuatu”
This house is a little slice of heaven. It is a fair way out of town so you need a car but you can kick back here and live the life. There are sheltered little spots in the garden if you want some protection from the sun and a gorgeous ocean pool carved out of the coral. The house is very comfortable and well laid out. We were welcomed and shown around the property and then the caretakers kept to themselves, unless we needed anything, then they were very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday at an above average, highly recommended property
One of the best places I've stayed in - every thing you could want or need a home away from home. Breathtaking views and beautiful gardens the caretakers of the property are there if you need them and a beautiful family. The house is close to quite a few attractions and resorts if you want to go out and get dinner. Port Villa is not that far away either - we hired a car and managed the roads easily I would recommend you do the same as it gives you more freedom to do what you want when you want. Bukurabeach house is on my must return list it is the most relaxing place and my only complain is the time went far to quickly - thanks Robin for sharing you piece of paradise.
“We'll never go back to a resort . . .”
On the occasion of our sixth visit to Vanuatu we decided to take our two grown children and their partners as a family catch up, given that we are all spread around the country. Bukura Beach House was the perfect spot for us. The well appointed, quality furnishings and fittings, the design of the house/pavillions, the sensational location and the unobtrusive but helpful caretakers all added up to a wonderful week for us. After the wet season the road was in poor condition but was ripped and graded during our stay and was fine for normal sedans after that (we had hired a 4WD). Having a hire car is best and adds to your independence. Marvellous property, sensational location, friendly and seamless service from both the owner and the onsite caretakers (including their charming children) make this an ideal place for independent travellers. We certainly won't be staying in a resort again!
“Best tropical destination only 2.5h flight from Brisbane!!”
Ouah! Awesome holidays!! My husband and I booked this villa to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, just perfect place for it. We are always on the move, lots of holidays but this place was really amazing and absolutely what you can expect from a tropical destination and one of the best. So relaxing it was too much to handle every day!!! Everything you need inside the villa ( just a few things to bring with you: snorkelling gear, mobile phone and get a local sim card (1000vat)at the airport, hard drive for music and movies dvd are there already, computer for internet, waterproof camera and torch, the rest is already there!! Having a drink watching the cruise ships passing by, some dolphins early in the morning swimming around, the sunrise coming up every morning and in such a peaceful environment and the natural pool in the ocean is the top, always warm. We had a excellent weather, just a few shower and one rainy day for 16 days of holidays!! not bad for February! We have experienced some great snorkelling the best was in Hideaway island in Mele Bay next door to the villa, ate some great food,( big French influence around) beautiful and tasty seafood buffet on Friday night at the Warwick LE Lagon resort 5000vat/per person, romantic dinner at the Vilas Chaumieres lovely set-up and try the coconut crab for the first time in my life, the chill restaurant and la Tentation in town waterfont! Visiting all around the island with a rental car Hertz for 3 days, no worries! just noisy brakes!! Meet the friendly locals when you take a minibus to go to town 800 to 1000vat for 2, watching a brilliant show of fire dancers on Friday night at the beach bar Mele bay, refreshed ourself at the Mele water cascades, Challenging our fears on the flying fox with Zipline at the summit, visiting the island opposite to the Grand Casino and the best of all was relaxing on the longdeck chairs all around the villa. We can't wait to go back, excellent voyage ET DE Superbes souvenirs...
