“Magical Family Getaway”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2011

We loved our stay at Tierra Magnifica. Our spring family trip was a bit smaller this year because we had our older child off to college. But choosing Nosara and Tierra Magnifica worked out in every way. The entire staff, including Steve, made our trip magical. We actually felt as if were staying at a friends home, with incredible service. We highly recommend this trip in everyone and already give the details to friends when they ask about Costa Rica travel.

“Vacation in Paradise!”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2011

We stayed at Tierra Magnifica for Spring Break - the whole package, including the trips that the TM staff organized for us were outstanding. It is a destination location as it is fairly remote, but once you arrive it is so beautiful and relaxing that you will not want to leave. There is plenty to do in the area from bike riding on the beach, to all of the classic Costa Rica adventure options. It is one of the best family trips we have had because there was something for everyone (and we have teenagers!) My husband was very leery of going as he had no interest in rappelling or zip lining but he loved it and said it exceeded his expectations. great balance of adventure, and relaxation. Tm is an absolutely gorgeous place. The views are spectacular and the house itself is open and inviting. The food was fabulous - all fresh, and prepared for our palates. The staff was extremely accommodating, and even took the kids to the beach so we could hang out at the house. The fact that it is owned by an american was evidenced in the quality of linens, pillows. First Class. You will not want to leave!

“Amazing hotel in costs rica”

We loved TM. We have been there twice. The staff is wonderful; the views are wonderful and the town of Nosara is really special.

“Amazing home with amazing people”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2010

Tierra magnifica feels like a home (a very large, very beautiful home). From the built-in pets to the incredible staff, you will feel like you belong in costa rica. This is not only a luxury vacation, staying here is like trying out the lifestyle - pura vida. The staff will feed you authentic (delicious!) cuisine and then run you down to the beach for sunset. A trip into town might result in you meeting the tallest man in town or finding a home bakery to sample. If you are interested in yoga, massage, language lessons,or a trip to a local farm - this is the place for you. I still dream about this place and cannot wait to return.

“A Slice of Paradise”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2010

Nosara itself is a unique and gorgeous location in its own right, and Tierra Magnifica is the perfect place for a relaxing, luxurious, private getaway. While I was there I enjoyed an ocean-view on-site yoga class (a must in Nosara). The rooms are serene and whimsical--my balcony opened up to a view of the beach over tropical forest canopy, where I literally woke up to see howler monkeys feeding in the tree-tops. It was truly a tropical dream weekend. The Tierra Magnifica staff also helped arrange for me to explore Guiones beach and arranged a surf class with local instructors. The food is gourmet and fantastic, the staff caring and the location unbeatable. Loved it!

“Absolutely amazing experience!”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2010

This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I was not let down in any way shape or form; not by the country, not by the people and definitely not by Tierra Magnifica. This place rocks. No other way to define it other than it is everything you could hope for in a boutique hotel in the middle of the jungle over looking the ocean with accommodations that rival anything 5 star anywhere and a staff that is at least five stars in every capacity. And the kicker is down the dirt road to the cool and funky surf village of Nosara, you can find everything else you might be looking for...I can't wait to go back and take my wife and kids. Thank you all for an amazing vacation!

“Wonderful boutique getaway on the CR Pacific Coast”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2010

My family and I had a wonderful two week visit to Tierra Magnifica in the town of Nosara on the CR Pacific Coast. Lush and tropical, situated on a mountain top with breathtaking views of the Pacific, our family enjoyed the cosy and hospitable environment of Tierra Magnifica. The owners, Steve and Maggie Jacobus, were highly resourceful in arranging private Spanish classes for us and lots of eco adventures throughout CR. Highlights were ziplining, going to an off-grid self sustaining farm by horseback, surfing lessons and enjoying the fresh and healthy Tican meals prepared by staff. This is an ideal spot for a couple of families traveling together or for a small family reunion. Alcoholic beverage list, especially wine offerings could be improved upon. Also, know that you will have to rent a car to get around since the resort is approximately one mile away from town and up a steep hill. Great spot for those who enjoy rustic luxury and adventure!

“Love The Place”

“Tierra Magnifica lives up to it's name!”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2010

Our stay at Tierra Magnifica remains one of the highlights of my life. The home is graciously appointed, with comfortable retreat areas spread throughout the grounds. There was plenty of room for our small group and would be an ideal place for family gatherings or intimate reunions. The service that the Jacobus's provided went above and beyond our expectations. They know the ins and outs of the country and language. The only dilemas were whether we wanted to swim, zip-line, visit the beach or monkey reserve. They even scheduled a small plane for us to take from Nosara to San Jose... seamlessly. Overall, I felt completely taken care of...from healthy, colorful food to organic, local coffee~ barefoot and poolside~ yum. It is good for the traveler who likes something beyond the ordinary: yoga and massage were readily available. Surfing and/or horsebackriding were options too. Tierra Magnifica has outstanding views in the heart of the jungle. We saw or heard howler monkeys daily and yet it was only a ten minute (ruff road) drive into town or to the beach. I can't wait to return! Just remember to bring your flash-light if you wander at night, you are in the jungle... prepare for a heart opening adventure!

“Excellent accommodations, views, service and experiences”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2010

We've brought three different groups to Tierra Magnifica between 2006 and 2009 as well as staying for a week with close friends and each year the accommodations and service get better and better. The food is fresh and always delicious. Perched in a beautiful location, every room has amazing views of the ocean and rain forest. The friendly professional staff take care of our every need from special diets to adventure tours. We honestly can't wait to go back.
