“Fabulous visit to Vernazza”
My husband and I spent three wonderful night in Catarina's lovely apartment in Vernazza. We especially enjoyed the lovely view from the terrace and were happy that we chose to stay in Vernazza.
We spent a wonderful week in Vernazza in this apartment. The terrace is exceptional, just over the charming little place. Ear plugs necessary to sleep though... Vernazza is ideal to walk everywhere. We hope to come back to Cinque Terre and would certainly stay here again!
“Lovely Terrace - Too Bad the Weather Was So Cold We Didn't Use!!”
Appartamento Caterina is in a great location. Central to the train station and everything in Vernazza. The view is amazing and the terrace is perfect to see the beautiful harbor and the lovely tangle of pastel buildings surrounding you. The apartment itself has a nice sized dining room, a tiny but workable kitchen, a good sized, by Cinque Terre standards, bathroom and an accommodating bedroom number one. Herein was an issue for us. One of the reasons we rented a two bedroom apartment is that my husband is a very large guy and he snores! If I get to sleep it's in another bedroom. My contract with arbaspaa was specific for a two bedroom apartment, Appartamento Caterina, and I read in all the reviews the fact that the second bedroom was a little dark and it was closer to the street but that was not a concern really. When I contracted with arbaspaa I rented a two bedroom! The landlords, Caterina and Mario, could not have been sweeter! Met us at train station, helped with luggage up a million steps, but after showing us around, when I asked about the second bedroom, Caterina locked the door and said "that's mine, you don't need, private." At this point we had already paid (cash). I contacted arbaspaa. I was told "we understood your frustration and Caterina could make the room available but it would cost more money. The price you paid was based on two people." Interesting... Nowhere in the rental ad or contract was that stated. Kind of soured the experience. I'm putting this squarely on arbaspaa, not the owners. On another note. Cinque Terre is still a gem but way over visited. We empathize with recovery and rebuilding after the flood but it is nothing like it was when we visited eight years ago. Maybe there have been too many travel books written about it? The charm and intimacy is gone, leaving in its place a struggle to elbow your way along the choked streets or find a seat on the train. If you haven't been, by all means go. If you're returning,:(
“Fantastic Location & View”
The Caterina apartment was great although the steps in were a challenge with our luggage. Thank goodness for Mario's help in getting them up the steps & then the 2 flights of steep stairs into the apartment. The view was fantastic overlooking the Piazza & the Little Harbour. We used both the bedrooms which were clean & had everything needed. The kitchen was a little bit on the small size but that was fine because who wants to cook whilst on holidays! The shower in the bathroom has an extremely small entry & does not really suit those people with ample girth!
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here! The apartment was in the best location possible. Indescribable views! Very clean and cosy place to stay. The only complaint is the hot water in the shower doesn't last that long. But no dramas... you just need to leave 10 mins in between to let it heat up again.
“The best position in Vernazza for sun, sea, food and watching th”
This apartment is delightful but be aware that the second bedroom is very dark. It does not have a dishwasher, washing machine or kettle. You are paying for position. We spent a week here, and so should you, and we enjoyed every moment. You need to be a good walker and good at climbing steps and more steps ...what an experience. The local people are special and have rebuilt Vernazza after the Oct'11 floods with pride and love. The swimming is safe and the water was crystal clear off the rocks past the church. Remember to stamp your train ticket before you get on the train! What I did not like was having to carry a lot of cash to pay the rent.
“Very nice stay in Vernazza”
This apartment is above the central piazza with a lovely view/deck. The apartment was very clean with beautiful furnishings. The view off the deck was amazing and we enjoyed having breakfast and cocktails in the afternoon there. The second bedroom in the back is "close" . All it needs is a small fan to blow in the cool evening air. Overall really enjoyed it.
“Best place to stay in the Cinque Terre!”
We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. Vernazza was our favourite town in the Cinque Terre and this apartment overlooks the town's Piazza, which is always buzzing and full of life! The apartment is clean and functional and we used the kitchen to cook up a few delicious meals and enjoyed eating dinner on the balcony with a glass of wine. I highly recommend staying here!
The apartment was beautiful and spotlessly clean.Caterina and her husband (the owners)met us and showed us round they were very friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony was great looked down into the square and out to sea, great for lazing with a glass of local wine and people watching.
“Spectacular location, feel one with the sea and the piazza!”
This jewel is set above the piazza in Vernazza, the cutest village in cinque terre, with sea views and breezes. The place is right by the water, you get the salty breeze in your room, it's spectacular. The two-bedroom apt is suitable for families, we were their with our toddler and it was perfect. The furniture is a bit like your grandma's but it has charm. The photos do not give it justice. The apt is made so you enjoy the view. The french door of the master bedroom opens onto the balcony and that spectacular view of the ocean. We spent all our time on the balcony! The kitchen is just right, the. Bathroom is small. The shower stall is hard to squeeze in but that's just the standard in cinque terre. It's run by the cutest grandma and grandpa (which explains why they have,kt refurnished the place) but the price is right! There's no motorized traffic so it's quite. There's the constant chatter coming from the puiazza so at night i actually closed the window so the baby can sleep. The 2nd bedroom is much cooler in the back. And very quiet so it's easy to sleep there. I was a bit concerned b/ i didn't like the phtots but the apt became the bets part of our trip.
