“Cosy, exotic, cute hideaway”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

We stayed in this cottage as newly weds to enjoy the sea and the coastal nature. The place was great for this purpose! The house is nicely decorated with a moroccan touch and it is well equipped with books, Dvds and kitchen utensils. The vegetable garden was brillant and so big; after many a day of barbecuing aubergines, homemade pesto and the most delicious cherry tomato salad, more had grown again than we could eat. It was great to see the site managers treating the three cottages in the area and the garden with so much loving care. We also had the pleasure of meeting Marcos the owner and his family, our daily chats made the stay very personal and familiar! The views of the straight from the place are great. The area is a relict military area, which makes that it's undisturbed, a bit quircky perhaps, in a nice way we thought, and interesting from a historical point of view. In the season we came, the only drawback was the regular visit of ants, but with help of the owners this was manageable. It is possible to walk to town, the views are great. In the evening this is too dark and you need to drive a stretch of gravel road at a low speed - you cannot rush this trip. In return for a slow pace, you get a relaxing, enriching and friendly countryside experience!

“A wonderful little paradise”

This was the best holiday ever in Tarifa. This little house by the sea was the key for this wonderful time. Thanks a lot to all the people, who make this dream possible. Magic! Nina & Effi from Switzerland

“Paradiso”

This is paradise. Our 2nd stay and we still love it! The atmosphere, the wind (always), the huge garden, Paco and his family, the vegetable garden etc. All great. We stayed with 2 children in the small house, no problem at all during summer. I would not recommend this to do during winter. But please don't tell the world about this little paradise :-)

“A lovely experience”

“charming House in Stunning Location”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

Casa de la Costa is a charming little house in the most beautiful location right on the edge of the coastal path. It takes just under 30 minutes to walk along this rugged path into the pretty town of Tarifa where there are plenty of good tapas bars, food and shops. The house is set in a lovely garden and very secluded apart from the occasional jogger who runs along the path at the foot of the garden! Our week was quite chilly and as we were the first guests of the season it took a while for the house to warm up but the wood burner took the edge off and we were supplied with plenty of wood once we had asked for it. It is the perfect hideaway spot for a couple/ single. You need a car to get to the house but easy access to beaches for wind sports and loads of lovely walking. Marcos, the owner is charming and very helpful. Would definitely go back again.

“Absolute Perfection”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2012

I am tempted to keep this little treasure to myself! but luckily Marcos, the owner, shares his little paradise. From the start of booking, Marcos the owner was friendly and informative and answered e mails promptly. We were met by his manager Paco - such a lovely man, always there with a smile and willing to help in any way he could. The cottage is situated in the most idyllic setting - the views as in the photographs are amazing. Tarifa itself is just a short distance away and has a friendly feel, unspoit by tourism. We didn't feel the need to eat out here, we enjoyed memorable barbeques in the garden with the best views in town. However long you stay here I can assure you it wont be enough - we have left a piece of our hearts in this lovely place.

“Once in a liftetime experience”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2012

The last thing this magical place needs is publicity. The view from Casa de la Costa could not be more beautiful and more exclusive than what this extraordinary location is offering. We were absolutely mesmerized ... Tastefully decorated casa with a good selection of books and dvds perfectly blends in the picturesque surroundings ... You can not miss anything you wouldn't miss at home (unless of course you are a big fun of dishwasher and microwave oven) and even if- there is always Paco(!)-' the faithful guardian of the casa ',the helping hand ,the biological gardener and the tourist guide of the area . The owner of the Casa -Marcos is "watching "things from the distance making sure to satisfy the customer and to make your stay as pleasant as possible . Very responsive ,always there to answer all your questions by mail -very comforting specially when facing the unknown . Do not be afraid of the wind - you can always hide in the bamboo hut with a good book and a glass of wine(Marcos thought about everything!) having a view on africa exclusively for you. If you prefer more action -just decide for one of the many beautiful beaches to face the wind on your board or simply feel the warmth of sand under your feet. Tarifa is a small ,cute city still untouched by a mass tourism.(what a relief to find such a place !) Even during a high season( July) you do not feel overcrowded and can enjoy little local restaurants and tourist attractions without queuing and getting frustrated ;) If you want to explore the area just drive 10 km from Tarifa to discover the Roman Ruins of Baelo Claudia or the stunning view from the hill of Vejer de la Fronterea . It was an enjoyable stay for all of us! If we will be back?- still this year!

“Magnficent.”

The house has all what you need for a nice and quite stay. The lager garden with the BBQ is faboulus as well as the view to Morocco. We stayed for 1 week and loved it. For sure we will come back

“Simply a magical experience!!!”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2011

This has to be one of the most relaxing holiday i've had yet. I stayed here in July and could not get over how beautiful and serene the area was. The Casa is situated in a quiet corner of the natural park and you really feel like you're the only person for miles around. The property boasts incredible views over the ocean to Morocco which are absolutely breath taking. Its only a short distance to town and the beach and the owner (Marcos) is fabulous! We could'nt have asked for a friendlier or more helpful host! The interior was tastefully decorated and very clean. If you're looking for something just a little different to your stock standard hotel I would not hesitate in recommending this property.
