Description

Chene Vert is a 300 year old 2 bedroom cottage(one of five gites at Le Jardin des Amis) in the village of Meyrals, close to caves & prehistoric sites at Les Eyzies and not far from medieval Sarlat.

From the lovely golden stone exterior to the original features preserved inside this is a property with both character and comfort!
At the front is a sunny veranda looking out on the garden, and to the rear, a private patio area with catches the afternoon and evening sun. Steps lead up from there to the landscaped pool area (fenced for safety).

Guests have the freedom to wander in our 7 acres of grounds, lie in a hammock in the orchard or relax with a swim in the pool. Why not chat with other guests over a drink at the pool bar or borrow books & games/sports equipment at the end of a day's sightseeing?

As on-site owners we are always happy to suggest ideas for sight seeing from the wealth of places to visit close to the gites. We can help with the booking of activities such as canoe trips on the Dordogne or Vezere rivers, or advise on walks and cycle rides on local paths.

Response from the owner We apologise for the WIFI problems: a WIFI signal booster is to be fitted for next season so should improve signal available inside the cottages. Some guests have been able to pick it up indoors (those with laptops rather than smartphones/tablets) but we do realise there has been a difficulty whilst renovation works have been happening.

Response from the owner We are pleased that our guests found our gite clean and comfortable. We're sorry that our guests were disappointed by the lack of television - we don't adverise that we have tv and many of our previous guests have commented on how refreshing it is to have a change from normal routine. We do have a selection of board games and lots of books to borrow! The village of Meyrals is not big but neither is it a tiny hamlet : all is relative and country dwellers will no doubt have a different view from those who live in towns and cities. the small town of St. Cyprien is only 3 miles from us, with a wider range of facilities.
