Enjoy our Orange House on the outskirst of Bocas Town in the local neighbourhood of Saigon Bay. Saigon bay is located a short 15 minutes walk or a $1 taxi ride to town.
The Orange house is located on a property which consists of 5 rental houses, all build over the water and connected by wooden walkways. The Orange house is located to the front of the other houses and so enjoys unobstructed views from both the top and bottom terrace across the Bay toward the mainland of Panama and Costa Rica, perfect for sunsets.
Downstairs we have a spacious bathroom, fully furnished and equipped kitchen with full size fridge and cooker and dining area leading to the relaxation deck with outdoor lounge, dining table, sun loungers and hammok . Upstairs There are two bedrooms, with the front bedroom with king size bed, walk in closet and aircon. This bedroom also has spectacular views across the bay and a smart tv with cable tv. The second bedroom has a queen size bed with aircon and cable tv.
Saigon Bay is a friendly, typical Panamanian, neighborhood with it's collection of guesthouses, shacks and family homes. If you want to experience local island living, then this is the ideal location. Being just outside of town, you are away from the hussle and bussle of town parties and clubs, but close enough to get around and enjoy them when you want to. There is a local supermarket just a block away to stock up from.
The closest beach is Saigon Beach located just a few hundred meters down the path. Prettier beaches can be found further to the north of the island including Bluff beach to the east and Drago to the North. Bluff beach can be reached by taxi or bicycle (for the more energetic) and Drago can be reach by bus which leaves every alternative hour from the central park in town and can be hailed from anywhere along it's route.
We provide kayaks for you to enjoy (free of charge) during your stay and offer laundry service (at a fee) should you need it. We also provide beach towels on request and a change of linen or towels on request. Wifi is available in the house and we also have a safe in your house for you to store valuables. We have SUP's (standup paddle boards) and snorkeling gear for our guests to use and bike rental can be arranged here on the property at a reasonable rate.
In the event that you need larger accommodations for bigger parties, or if the dates you require are booked for the Orange house, feel free to contact us about our two purple houses which consist of 2 double bedrooms each and are also fully equipped with large front decks. The purple houses are located just behind the Orange house.
The bocas islands have a huge garbage problem and we ask our guests to take advantage of the drinking water filling service that Bocas Brewery offer (located on Saigon Beach) in order to reduce the amount of plastic purchase and waste produced. We also ask our guests to separate their garbage during their stay in order to recyle as best we can to reduce our footprint on this already challenged island.
If you are looking for a comfortable home, within a local and ecclectic neighborhood in order to get a real feel for living in Bocas, then this is a great location.

Response from the owner Hi Mairi, I can only apoogize if you felt shouted at. As you know, Jeanne had been extremely ill for 2 weeks and I had also come down with the same and didn't realise that my tone was so abrupt. We try to accommodate all our guests including those looking for a quiet location to get away from it all and that's why we ask guests to reduce the noise they make after 10pm especially as sound carries over the water so easily. Yes, the neighborhood can be noisy at times especially with the construction next door. Fortunately the community has been able to help to rebuild Momo's home and he and his family are safely back in it. We do try not to add to the noise of the neighborhood at night and apologize if my tone was abrupt, Jeanne is always the one to handle such things as that is her forte while I deal with property maintenance but she was just not able to get out of bed due to being so ill. I will work on making my tone more friendly for those very rare occassions when she is too sick to deal with the guests. The BBQ rental is a $5 charge as we clean the bbq getting it ready for the next guests. We didn't do this before and within just a few uses, the bbq was soiled and damaged through scraping to a point where it could not be used by guests without health issues. We replaced the bbq and decided to charge a stipend in order to keep it clean to a level that everyone could be comfortable with along with supplying the tools to cook with and the gas. So far we had only received positive reviews on this offer, but as this is a new service, we will consider if guests are happy or not with it and if we receive any additional negative ratings on the offer of the bbq for a charge, then perhaps we will not offer it in future. We learn from each experience and again apologize if you felt shouted at. Jeanne is feeling much better now and is dealing with the guests with her usual enthusiasm and smile, sorry you missed that from her during your stay. It was the first time she is has been that ill in many years and it knocked her badly, so I am so relieved she is back to her usual self again.
