“Kentisbury Country House is individual, warm and provides the ul”
Kentisbury Country House is outstanding. Our welcome was warm, the house was cosy and inviting and everything we needed was supplied. The fresh apples picked from the tree were the best we have tasted in years. We wished we could have stayed longer!
“Exceptional accommodation *** Paradise***”
A fantastic place to stay, the hosts Melissa and Peter are outstanding and go out of their way for you. The house is beautiful and very clean and is equipped with everything you need, if not they will get it for you. Highly recommended. A truly fantastic place to stay.
Response from the owner Thank you so much Sue, total pleasure having exceptional guests such as yourselves. You are welcome any time!
“Comfort, tranquillity, peace - wish we could have stayed longer.”
The service provided by the owners was warm and welcoming without being intrusive. Nothing would be too much trouble. The home was storybook enchanting, including the longest refectory dining table we have ever seen. And the rotunda room was blissful escape - no TV in that room translated to no children in that room. The whimsical story behind the mysterious golden chain lacquered into the antique bathroom vanity is one to explore. The handblown marble shop and murals of Sheffield are unique and not to be missed. And the local bakery will direct you to a gentleman who sells inexpensive but beautifully captured photos of Cradle Mountain and its surroundings. But most of all, we loved watching the delight of the children as they picked Melissa's raspberries, and the fact that we could take a little of our adventure home with us in the form of Melissa's mouthwatering home-made jams.
“Little bit of Europe in Tassie”
Our family loved this place - especially our 6-year-old, who didn't want to leave... With the views, the garden landscaping and the architecture, it was like being in Tuscany or Provence for the weekend. Being holiday-rental owners ourselves, the hospitality of Melissa (who currently lives next door) was very much appreciated - as was the house's cleanliness, the simple yet sophisticated design/furnishings, and the extra touches (access to the vegie garden, comp. chocolates and coffee). Can't wait to go back - we'll perhaps try it out in all the different seasons... Ps: The only thing the place is missing is a pair of washing-up gloves!
Response from the owner Hi Amanda, Thanks for the great review, I didn't realise the gloves were finished, there is usually a box under the sink, I will put a new box in right now! Thanks again. Melissa
“Fantastic location, home and hosts!”
We could not recommend Kentisbury Country House highly enough! We enjoyed 3 beautiful nights with our 3 young children and found the property truly 5 star and our hosts just wonderful! It is a great base for exploring the region including Cradle Mountain. We stayed here before our departure on the Spirit of Tasmania as it is only a 35 minute drive to Devenport. We will definitely be back soon!! It is like home!
“Exceptional accommodation, superb hosts and we didn't want to le”
It all started with a personal tour of the gorgeous house from Melissa - a lovely, friendly person. My children were "oohing and aahing" with excitement as we explored the house and I knew we were in for a special stay. The home is exceptional - the furnishings luxurious - yet it was homey and perfect for children. The location is ideal for a getaway - not too far from Sheffield for groceries etc (you will not need to buy eggs or raspberries (December)) - and a nice drive to Cradle Mountain for exploration. We were fully rested after our three days of baking, kids playing with the dog, picking berries and loving this property.
“The most amazing experience (from a seasoned B&B;'er)”
The Kentisbury Country House was the ideal of understated country charm - relaxing, but with the little touches that made it obvious a lot of care and taste and gone into its development and decoration. Lots of windows and the most charming attached gazebo perfect for cool nights. Lovely views and in one of Tassie's most beautiful areas. And finally, our hosts were the friendliest we've ever come across (and we've known a fair number) - absolutely completed the experience.
“Couldn't be happier.”
This place is a real gem. Even though it looks nice as advertised on the web, it is even nicer in reality. It is a very large and beautiful place in great surroundings. The hosts were absolutely terrific without being intrusive. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Highly recommended!
“The best place on earth”
The house is absolutely beautiful, so much space for you to hide and read quietly or spend with the rest of your family. I love cooking and the kitchen has everything I need and even more. The Host are such a wondeful people you don't want to leave. The rasberries are wonderful, we can have as much as we can for our desert with pancake and ice cream ...Yum...
“Charming Country Retreat”
We recently spent a wonderful long weekend at Kentisbury Country House, a most memorable stay, with outstanding accommodation and delightful hosts. Beautiful views out of every window sit back and enjoy the ambience, this was an exceptional country escape, only a short drive to Cradle Mountain and the World Heritage protected area. Thank you Melissa for sharing your piece of relaxing rural Tasmania.
