“Wonderful villa and hosts!”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2015

My husband and I stayed with Josee and Pierre for a week over Christmas 2014. The villa is nestled on a secluded ridge above a private bay offering beautiful views out to the Caribbean. The pool was perfect, and with only 4 villas, we most often had it all to ourselves. The villa was well appointed, clean, and the kitchen stocked with everything you could need should you choose to make meals in. Upon our arrival to St. Lucia Pierre picked us up at the airport (very early - thank you!) and on our way to Marigot Bay proceeded to provide us with helpful information on the island. He was kind enough to stop at a major supermarket on the way so that we could buy groceries for our stay. On arrival at the villa Josee met us in the drive way, and throughout our stay assisted us in making reservations and ensuring we were able to do all of the activities we had planned. We had a lovely time and greatly recommend a stay with Josee and Pierre. Our only recommendation would be air conditioning in the bedroom

“Quiet”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

Warmly owned and operated by Josée and Pierre, these delightful villas are secluded and away on a hill side surounded by rich folliage. Josee and Pierre were always there if we needed any advice or help planning what we wanted to do on the Island. We stayed for 11 nights and felt like, for the first time in many months, we were relaxed. Pierre and Josée provide a smooth, beautifull and natural environment to help you relax and enjoy what the island has to offer. They suggested and helped us made the bookings for trips, rentals, activities and road directions. Villa Pomme d'Amour is not a 5 stars resort, but it offers a lot of things that you couldn't get in a 5 star resort, the tranquility, the human factor, the kindness are all a above a 6 star. “Ultimate escape in St Lucia”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2013

We, my boyfriend and I, spent 5 relaxing nights in Villa Pomme D'Amour in april 2013. We stayed in the apartment on the first floor of the villa next to the main house with ocean views, and were very pleased. Management Josee and Pierre were very accommodating and friendly. We asked many questions about St. Lucia and activities one can do. Josee has a wealth of information not only on Marigot Bay but the entire island. She sat us down and explained, over a map of St. Lucia, what we can do where, where good food can be found, etc. She went out of her way to arrange activities for us from dinner reservations to booking a guide. Location Excellent spot nestled in the lush greenery on the side of a hill with gorgeous views of the sea. Villa is surrounded by lovely garden with flower and fruit trees. Services Villa is a self catering place and breakfast, lunch and dinner can be had in the on your own private large deck. If you would like to venture out and enjoy a nice evening, there are few places just in the village of Marigot Bay - Rainforest Hideaway and Doolittles just to name a few. The village also has a small convenient store where you can pick up essentials and a baguette store. You can enjoy drink either on your patio or by a great pool with ocean view. They provide beach chairs and beach towels as well. On the day of our arrival, Pierre greeted us at the airport and gave us our little private tour of the island with a stop for a refreshing beer (Piton) on our way to Marigot Bay. He also stopped in the supermarket for us. Josee welcomed us welcomed us with a pitcher of rum punch and stocked out fridge with breakfast essentials (eggs, milk, butter, cereal, beer (thumbs up) and fruit from the lovely garden). Rooms Our apartment was located on the first floor of the villa next to the main house. It was a two bedroom with living room w/full size kitchen and bathroom with shower. The apartment was tastefully decorated and is kept in good condition.

“Perfect Honeymoon Villa”

Reviewed 13 May 2013

We visited the Villa Pomme D'Amour on our honeymoon week in april 2013. The villa is a little piece of paradise right by Marigot Bay on the West side of the island. Our room had two bedrooms, a living room, a balconey, and a full kitchen. It was perfect! Josee and Pierre are St Lucia's perfect hosts: friendly, generous, and helpful. Pierre picked us up at the airport and gave us our first tour of the island on our drive home, where Josee greeted us with the best rum punch of our entire stay and a snack of delicious bruschetta. Our room was the top story of the villa, but all the rooms have a charming view of the little bay, neighboring hills, and (of course!) the swimming pool. Josee met us on our first morning us with maps, route recommendations, and tips for the best restaurants, meals, beaches, etc. She even arranged our car rental! The villa is clean, beautifully appointed, and very welcoming--previous guests have left an assortment of useful items such as bug spray and kitchen spices in the rooms as well, which is very useful, and of course if you need anything during your stay, Josee and Pierre will help you find it. Our trip would not have been nearly as effortless or enjoyable without Josee and Pierre's help--they took all the legwork out of our vacation, leaving us free to simply enjoy being honeymooners in the Caribbean. They're incredibly friendly and give the ultimate in personalized service. We enjoyed getting to know them and hearing their stories as well--something you can't really do if you stay at a huge resort! We can't recommend the Villa Pomme D'Amour enough. If you are considering a vacation or a honeymoon in St. Lucia, look no further. You won't regret it!

“Wonderful retreat in St. Lucia”

Reviewed 9 May 2013

Everything about our stay at Villa Pomme D'Amour met or exceeded our expectations. We were met at the airport by Pierre, a wonderfully personal touch that allowed us to relax and enjoy the drive across the island as he described the sites along the way. When we arrived at the villa, Josee greeted us with rum punch (delicious, make sure to ask for the recipe!) and bruschetta out on the balcony overlooking the beautiful little cove that is just a short walk down the hill. We immediately felt right at home! The villa was exactly as we had imagined. The inviting balcony is surrounded by lush greenery and has an outdoor dining table, comfortable chairs, and a charcoal grill. Louvered doors across the front open out onto the balcony and give the villa a very airy feeling, like you are in a tree-top retreat. There is no air-conditioning, but we didn't miss it with all the fans and breezes with the windows open. We loved listening to the wildlife at night with the waves breaking in the background. There is wifi access that is good for checking email or checking out a website but nothing streaming. The fridge was stocked with plenty of food for several breakfasts, and Pierre drove us down to Marigot Bay our first night for dinner before we had our rental car. They really go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable! Josee provided us with a detailed map on our first morning and described various places of interest and landmarks along the way. You will definitely want a car to be able to visit some of the other beautiful areas on the island (including Pigeon Island and the Pitons), but be prepared for some intense and hilly driving! Josee made excellent recommendations for our excursions and took care of the reservations for whatever we wanted to do. We felt like we had our own personal concierge the entire visit. Josee and Pierre's hospitality was the icing on the cake of this wonderful anniversary trip. This place is a gem!

“Warm , friendly and relaxing atmosphere.”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

Service was great from initial contact, planning, then arrival and duration of stay, Josee & Pierre made us feel welcomed. Certainly a bonus to get picked up from the airport so no driving required the 1st day. The home/ unit was very nice had all the amenities we needed, was clean and the gardens, pool and close quiet cove for a swim and snorkel added to the experience. Josee & Pierre were extremely helpful and friendly. Location worked for us as it was approximate center of Island to access the many activities by vehicle and felt secure as well. We were able to function well on our own after a bit of assistance from Josee. Loved the breakfast foods supplied for 1st day or 2 and rum punch. Best thing was the help in planning our activities, least was not enought time to do more.

“Comfort with beauty.”

We stayed for two weeks in Villa PommeD'Amour and those two weeks were beyond our expectations. The highest priority on our holiday was to get away from the miserable British winter that we were experiencing at home,we achieved this in bucketfulls. The climate was fantastic(and that includes the warm rain),the snorkelling breathtaking, the Island was beautiful, the St Lucians were welcoming, but most importantly the Villa and our hosts were superb. Tripadvisor has run out of superlatives for Josee and Pierre, they are warm, kind, considerate and hard working. They make one feel so relaxed from the minute you arrive at Villa Pomme D'Amour. Although the Villa is split into several apartments it obviously has evolved in the design that no-one is overlooking each other. The rooms are kept cool mainly by their very open shutters and doors, this and the fans eleviates the need for air conditioning. The style is almost colonial with fun parrots! The setting in the valley and the lovely garden makes one think that you are living in 'the bush'. Mosquitos did make their mark until we became really thorough in setting up the mosquito net at night. The shower was always hot and the bathroom altogether was adequate even though the door is a little bit flimsy.Needless to say if there were any prooblems with the accomodation(or anything else for that matter) Josee would be there for you and problem solved. Our car hire was arranged for us by Josee. We recommend hiring a 4x4 as we were able to visit the NE coast of the island where the tracks become a bit rough to say the least.Eating out was expensive,so having the Villa's kitchen(and barbeque) was very useful. Unfortunately the the sea in the pretty cove below the Villa for most of our stay was seeing the effects of an atlantic swell so was a bit rough and not that clear for snorkelling. We gained a great experience in St Lucia, best of all we gained two friends; you come and see us Josee and Pierre for sure.

“Amazing villa, hosts and location!”

My fiancé and I just returned from a week in Marigot Bay, St. Lucia. Villa Pomme D'Amour was the perfect choice. The airport pick up by Pierre was a lifesaver after the long trip. We stopped at the grocery and found everything we needed for our week. Upon arrival at the one bedroom villa (we had one night there and the remainder in the 1st floor two bedroom villa), we were greeted by Josee and her amaaazing rum punch and bruschetta. The next day we met with Josee to plan our week. This was a real benefit to us as it was our first time in St. Lucia. Josee had the hook up for everything and her recommendations were all spot on. The rental car she set up was reasonable and a very easy process. The open air design of the villa's was fabulous. Our maid service was superb and the kitchen was clean and fully stocked with all of the things we needed to cook every meal there if we choose to. Josee stocked the fridge with essentials many of which lasted all week. She also treated us to a lovely bottle of champagne since we were celebrating which was so thoughtful! The pool was sparkling clean and the perfect size. The private cove below (as mentioned in other reviews) requires water shoes. Also, bring comfortable shoes for the walk to town. The beach across from the marina was perfect for sunning and swimming. It is a wonderful place for a sporty and relaxing getaway. On top of being respectful, professional, warm, accommodating and friendly, Josee and Pierre are two of the coolest people we have met throughout our travels. Thank you for everything!

“Simply amazing”

We cannot say enough good things about St Lucia, Villa Pomme D'Amour, but most importantly--Josee and Pierre. They are the "perfect" hosts. They are willing to help---no matter what you might need. We loved exploring the island by day, but returning to the villa/apt for a late afternoon swim and watching the sunset, was extremely relaxing. The villa was well equipped for a comfortable stay. The property was well groomed and cleaned by friendly staff. Also, just a short walk down the hill was a beautiful bay to enjoy snorkeling and lounging. The beaches around the island were amazing and the people of St Lucia were delightful. The best compliment we could pay our wonderful hosts was to to book our 2014 vacation with them as well, we can't wait to return!

“The only way to visit St.Lucia”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2013

Imagine waking from a restful sleep, opening the two sets of double villa doors to a view that is breathtaking. Pictures do not do it justice. The sounds, the scents, the humidity. A lush mountain valley overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea The smell of coffee brewing as you lean on the railing and watch the finches and humming birds in the gardens, sailboats on the sea, waves lapping the beach in the secluded bay below you How can a day be anything but perfect starting this way? Josee and Pierre are professional hosts. Believe everything you have read about this amazing French Canadian couple. They are very well connected on the island. There is no doubt they will point you in the right direction every time, as they did for us. We have been to many 5 star resorts all around the Caribbean and none compare to the personal service we received at Villa Pomme D'amour. It is easy to tell it is not just a job for Josee and Pierre. It is their life. They truly care about their guests well being and enjoyment. The Villa was very well appointed and very private. Beach towels, a well-equipped kitchen, great wifi, and very comfortable beds. The grounds are incredibly well kept. Flowers and blossoms are never ending and seem to envelop the entire Villa. It is beautiful. The pool, deck, and loungers are all very cared for and in great shape. There was even floaters for the pool which we used every day. Within walking distance is Marigot Bay. Fantastic restaurants, beautiful views, and a great spot to see the mega yachts of the rich and famous. With a rental car it is a short easy drive to the locals grocery store and fruit stands. All beaches are public and the resorts will let you use their chairs and cabanas for a very reasonable fee. Our favorite was Ti Kaye which has great snorkeling a great beach bar and restaurant. Now imagine returning from a long hot day on a beautiful volcanic beach. The pool is warm, the Piton beer is cold, and the sun is setting in the west Paradise
