“Quiet, leafy apartment”
This apartment was lovely, on a quiet street within easy walking access to everything montreal has to offer. The kitchen was perfect for a weekend stay, great balcony, bathroom and living space. We throughly enjoyed our time here!
“Very cosy appartment with a great location”
We spent 7 days in this very nice bohemian appartment, which has a great location in what we found to be the best part of Montreal. We really enjoyed the area with many shops, good restaurants, parks, playgrounds for the kids etc. We can highly recommend this appartment if you are looking for a cool bohemian place with everything just 5 min away.
“Airy apartment in an interesting area”
Airy quiet apartment for two in Plateau residential / student area. Shops, (lots of) restaurants and Metro station near by. Mont Royal and markets within walking distance. Balconies front and back help in hot weather. Two flights of stairs from separate front door. Good for exploring Montreal.
“Perfect location for our new life in a new city”
We stayed in Nils' apartment for four months after a sojourn in France. It was the perfect location for scouting out apartments for a more permanent move. Cafes: in particular Kouign amann and Kahwa on rue Mont Royal, bookstores, local restaurants and proximity to the metro helped us get settled in Montreal.
“Comfortable, easy, great location--perfect ingredients for a per”
We spent Christmas in Montreal, with three of us in Nil's apartment and four other family members nearby. While we spent most of our time out and about, we did spend one day shopping at the fabulous Jean Talon market, then cooked in on Christmas Eve. We felt very much at home, kitchen supplies were plentiful; there was plenty of room around the table; we found Christmas music on a cable channel. We had a lovely, intimate, memorable time. We appreciate that this apartment contributed greatly to our wonderful time in Montreal. Merci.
“Great Location! Nice Place.”
This apartment was perfect for my family of four. We arrived in Montreal by train and were able to use the Bixi Bike system to get everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment is located less than a block from Rue Rachel which has dedicated, protected bike lanes. There are bike rentals within two blocks. The apartment is also in easy walking distance of lots of yummy cafes and restaurants and lots of shopping. The apartment itself is clean and airy and very tastefully decorated. It was quiet and very pleasant. The owner Nils gave us lots of good tips for places to eat and generously left a bowl of apples to welcome us. The only downside is the key to the apartment is in a lockbox on the porch which is dark at night so you need a flashlight.
“Superb well-appointed base in excellent Plateau location”
This week long stay was fantastic. Nils really made the effort to make us feel welcome, providing tips for good places to eat and shop in the neighbourhood and contacting us back within hours every time we had a question or needed anything. The apartment itself is the right size, not too big, not too small, and as other reviewers have said is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and equipped. Highly recommended and great value for money. Will be back!
“Awesome apartment great neighbourhoods”
A great apartment off the busy path but so close to everything! I wanted to experience living in an apartment rather than go to a hotel again as I travel to Montreal for family visit every year. Felt at home as soon as I walked in -nicely furnished a comfortable. Everything you need is there just kick back and enjoy! Mont Royal Park is so close you can walk to the top of the mountain for a spectacular view of the city. Will be back for sure. Thanks for everything.
“Great Neighborhood, Cozy apartment”
We are a couple who stayed in this apartment for a week at the end of March 2012. The neighborhood is full of charming restaurants and bars, from Ethiopian, to fondue, to wine bars, etc. We used the Metro when we had luggage, otherwise we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (of course we are from NYC and are used to walking). The Metro station is very nearby. We cooked our breakfast and lunch in the apartment quite comfortably. We walked to the Jean Talon Market to pick up fresh produce, fresh pasta, wine, and Quebec cheeses and had pleasant meals "at home" (I wouldn't recommend this walk unless you are a regular walker... it took about 40 minutes). I used the espresso machine to make espresso every morning. As the apartment description mentions, there is a washer and dryer in the apartment. We made sure that we went home with clean luggage, a nice perk for New Yorkers :) We had a bit of trouble with the hot water (especially if we wanted to shower in the evening) but found that earlier in the day there tended to me more hot water available. The apartment is a walk up, two flights of stairs. This wasn't a problem for us, but it might be an issue for anyone with knee problems or older travelers. It was great fun to wander around the area, or just stay in and watch Quebecois t.v. There are two balconies which must be lovely in warmer weather.
