“Perfect Place to Be in Venice!”
My husband had stayed here once before, so he booked a stay for us a few months ago. It's a spectacular location right on the Grand Canal. We met several others staying here, as everyone gathers on the dock to watch the gondola singers at sunset. The accommodation isn't lavish but comfortable, and it gives you a taste of how Venetians lived generations ago. Our suite had big, beautiful arched windows looking out on the canal. It was just lovely and romantic. Anna Passi is wonderful to deal with. It's expensive to be on the Grand Canal, but this place is pretty affordable comparatively. I highly recommend staying here. I can't really imagine staying anywhere else if we return to Venice.
Response from the owner Dear Tanya and Jeff, I saw your review and I want to thank you for your kindess. I'm glad to know that you enjoyed your stay and I look forward to your next visit! Best wishes Anna
“Great apartment on the Grand Canal in Venice.”
We stayed in the Palazzo Tiepoletto for a very pleasant week. The rooms are comfortable, and the small kitchen is well equipped. We particularly enjoyed all the water traffic on the Grand Canal outside the windows. It is well located and we enjoyed being able to walk every where we wanted to go. The fresh fish and produce available at the outdoor market near the Rialto Bridge are wonderful.
“A sheer delight”
From the moment we decided to stay in anna's apartment everything went smoothly. Her extremely prompt responses and reassurances to our queries indicated a warm, caring professionalism. The apartment, on the Grand Canal, while not 5 star hotel category (not what we enjoy or look for) is charming, very comfortable and has a real homely atmosphere. The ever changing action and view of the Canal were mesmerising. We found the private jetty a wonderful asset for arrival and departure by water taxi - no lugging cases over bridges - and the ground floor position of the flat meant no stairs for our elderly guests. Anna's representative met us at the door as promised and was most helpful. The flat is well equipped and we greatly appreciated the few stores left for guests, especially the bottle of wine - thank you anna! It was a great start to our sojourn in Venezia. The only things I could say we would have appreciated were a good map of Venezia to enable new arrivals to find their way, and a visitors book where guests could note their suggestions e.g. nearby restaurant finds. However, these are minor points. Suffice to say both our Italian guests were very impressed with their aussie family's find and intend to use the apartment on future visits as well as recommend it to their friends.
“The best view of Venice!!”
Had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Tiepoletto. The apartment was very central to the water bus station. We took a water taxi to and from the train station which was very easy to do and only 50 euros. I loved the view from the windows overlooking the Grand Canal. Perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Lucia was very helpful as our daughter was quite sick with a cold and Lucia walked us all the way to the Pharmacia to get some medicine for her. The only thing that would have made our stay a little easier is if the apartment had some basic cooking ingredients such as olive oil, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. If you are only staying a couple of days you don't want to have to purchase these staples. Would definately recommend Tiepoletto to friends!
“Amazing, even better than we had hoped for”
We recently stayed at Piazzo Tiepeletto for three days with our infant son. The apartment is amazing, comfy, well appointed and perfectly positioned. The two closest squares have lovely shops, pizza and gelato. The view from the living room windows out on to the Grand Canal is perfect. Sunlight reflected off the water as bounced around out living room throughout the afternoon. Absolutely magic. The water taxis had a little trouble finding us but it all worked out in the end.
“A wonderful Venetian experience”
Our first trip to Venice and we alighted on anna's apartment after staying in her equally wonderful home near Fano on the adriatic. We arrived by water taxi at the private landing stage which was an experience in itself. Lucia, the lovely lady who looks after the place, opened the massive 500 year old water door and we seemed to travel back in time to an age of trade and power. The overriding feeling staying here was that, albeit just for a few days, we were Venetians rather than just two amongst the hoards of tourists. To emphasise that point, I was standing at the window one morning watching activity on the Grand Canal (you tend to do that a lot) when a boat load of tourists went by all furiously taking pictures of me! The apartment itself is wonderful although those who like their Radissons and Marriotts might think it a bit quirky. Antique furniture, some lovely touches and a feeling of peace and calm.Very well equipped with all you need including a bottle of chilled Prosecco. Charming courtyard at the rear and then out in to to the maze of alleys with good restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Anna gave us two very good mid priced recommendations. We had a very high tide whilst we were there. Part of the central, marble hallway quietly flooded as it obviously has done for hundreds of years (the apartment doesn't!). When it receded it left cuttlefish bones and seaweed as evidence. Its actually worth checking the tides as the landing stage was covered (easily done on the internet). In the unlikely event you did arrive during a high tide, you would simply be dropped off at the nearby Vaporetto stop. If you really want to experience Venice and get a feeling for its 1000 year history before it became a bit of a living museum, this is the place for you. We will definitely be back.
Response from the owner Dear Chris and Lyn, thank you for your kindness, I'm really pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay in Venice and I look forward to meet you soon again! All the best Anna
“Beautiful condo in an incredible location!”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo and would stay there again. It is right on the Grand Canal which is very romantic, especially in the evening. I loved waking up every morning and watching the early morning boat activity on the water--it's fascinating to watch "rush hour" and see everything for the island being delivered by boat. The rooms and furnishings are lovely and very comfortable for two couples or a family. As mentioned, access to the second bedroom is through the first bedroom, however, curtains around the bed offer some degree of privacy. We didn't have a chance to use the kitchen, however, it was very well equipped with everything you might need if you decide to eat in. Be sure to let anna know in advance what time you plan to arrive so her associate, Lucia, can plan to meet you at the nearby vaporetto stop--you'll need help to find the Palazzo the first time. I apologize to anna and Lucia because I forgot to let them know our arrival time and Lucia was waiting all day for us. We had a little difficulty communicating with Lucia since she doesn't speak English, however it all worked out well. I highly recommend Palazzo Tiepoletto!
“I felt I was living the Venetian life”
This small apartment is right on the canal. I have been to Venice many times and loved the experience given by this particular accomodation. Easy to get too from the airport(water taxi), easy to access the vaporetto as an everyday commuter and slightly away from the madding crowds...perfect. The owner and her staff who met us could not have been more helpful and quick to respond to emails and questions on arrival. Fantastic experience.
“Amazing rental property”
From the first contact with anna, we knew this was going to be an amazing experience. The efficiency with which she answered our queries was admirable. When we arrived in Venice her representative met us at the San Toma Vaporetto stop, escorted us to the apartment, explained everything and left us to our dream! The location is fantastic; and as described right on the Grand Canal with two windows overlooking the Canal itself and its own landing if you choose to come by water taxi. Prior to arriving, the only thing we had a slight concern with was the fact that you needed to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. This in fact was not a problem at all; the bed in the first bedroom had a curtain all the way around it, so there were no privacy concerns at all. The two bathrooms were perfect and the washer/dryer was fantastic. From the fully equipped kitchen, large dining table and chairs and sitting room, we felt we could live like the Venetians. Markets and restaurants were all close by and we would highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Venice. It is far better than any hotel could be. Thank you anna.
“Captures the magic of Venice”
Great location with fantastic walk to Rialto Bridge. Vaporetta handy for ferring around canals. Get a day pass at St Marco ferry terminal.Excellent Trattoria da Ignazio, 2 minutes away towards Rialto. Beautiful internal garden and authentic menu. At Palazzo Tiepoletto sitting on private jetty at sunset with a glass of Pinot Grigio and antipasto was just magic. Bonus was a free trip to Murano Island glass factory. At St Marco ferry terminal look out for the guy with a free ticket to ride on those magnificent 9m power speed boats. Normally 120 euro per hour, this is a great way to see Venetian glassware. Look for the boats first. We loved it.
