“Wonderful cottage, perfect location”
Having booked Pudding Cottage for our first trip to the Lake District, we were not disappointed. Nestled in a perfect and beautiful location for walking, biking, taking a boat trip or driving further afield for the day, we couldn't have hoped for better. And when at the cottage it was like a home from home and had everything I could think we would possibly need for us and our two year old. Jacky, the owner, was prompt, efficient, helpful and so friendly from the moment we first made our enquiry right until the end - a refreshing change from some of our past rental experiences. We will be back and wouldn't book anywhere else but Pudding to stay as I wouldn't want to be disappointed!
“Fantastic cosy cottage”
I would Highly recommend!! We've had a lovely stay at this cottage recently, I visit the lake district regularly and will be booking Pudding Cottage again for my next visit! Beautiful, well kept cottage. Great location Easy to Book Everything as described. Aaron. 12/03/2014
“Fabulous relaxing week away in lakes”
Pudding cottage is a great cottage ideally located near Brockhole (walking distance so no need no pay for parking), and also 2 min drive to complimentary leisure club at Low Wood Bay Hotel. The cottage is immaculate, very well equipped and decorated, and has all the necessaries for the kids (highchairs, travel cots, stair gate, kids crockery etc). Also Dvds and Xbox games console. Jacky (owner) was extremely helpful and prompt in answering emails when arranging booking. We have stayed in many cottages in the lake district over the past few years, and this is certainly the best (esp. if you have children). Amazing value especially given free access to leisure club. Thanks Jacky!
“Great for a toddler”
We really enjoyed our stay at Pudding Cottage. The proximity to Brockhole adventure playground was a big bonus, and the craft box and dressing-up box in the cottage were a wonderful touch for our toddler for the rainy afternoons!
“A wonderful family holiday in a home from home”
We had a fabulous time with our two young children. The location suited us perfectly as it is close to excellent amenities in Windermere and ambleside and yet so close to many beautiful areas of the Lakes which made the countryside easily accessible for the kids which they enjoyed immensely. The cottage was very comfortable and was a home from home with all sorts of toys and books for the children to enjoy. The use of the hotel pool suited us very well in the rainy weather which was an added bonus. This cottage and the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner is second to none and we are already planning our return.
“Wonderful family holiday in perfect location!”
Pudding Cottage near ambleside, and just across the road from the Lake District Visitor's Centre, is absolutely beautiful and is perfect for 6 guests- we went with our two young children and Grandparents too. It is cosy and pretty and smart. The owner is friendly and helpful. You could stay in the beautiful ambleside area for a whole week with plenty of fantastic places to visit and walks for all abilities. It is also possible to venture further afield very easily. We explored lots of NT properties and had a beautiful boat trip too. The membership for the Spa and pool at the Hotel just 5 minutes away is great and family friendly but elegant too.
“Perfect property for first break away with baby”
From our first enquiry about Pudding Cottage, the owner Jacky was extremely helpful and full of information about the property and area. We were looking for a child friendly cottage (we have a 9 month old baby), with enough space to accommodate both sets of grandparents and Pudding was perfect, we were certainly not disappointed. The cottage has everything you would need for children. This includes travel cots, highchair, toys and games. It really is a home from home. We especially liked the patio area at the back of the cottage, where we enjoyed afternoon tea overlooking the private shared garden. The location is ideal. Not too far from Windermere or ambleside, both of which had all the amenities we needed. Best of all for us, the cottage was clean and maintained to a very high standard. We will certainly be back next year.
“Home from home”
We arrived at Pudding Cottage to a lovely welcome pack which immediatly made a lovely first impression and made us feel at home. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we could need. It was fantastic not having to worry about bringing games, Dvd's and toys for the children as it was all provided. The cottage travel cot and high chair were also useful. The location of the property is also great with a bus stop at the end of the lane and Brockhole visitor attraction opposite. Brockhole had many activities to keep us all entertained, the Tree Top Trek was fantastic. Ferries to ambleside and Wray Castle also leave from Brockhole. The children loved the communal garden and all the wildlife which we could see from the kitchen window. We had a throughly relaxing holiday (the pass to Low Wood hotel for the swimming pool helped), and will be back again.
“It is lovely and spacious and a great location - highly recommen”
This cottage was straight forward to book and the emails from Jacky to confirm booking were always prompt and courteous. We opted to have broadband for an extra £10, which was a great perk. The cottage was lovely and spacious with lots of films, games, books and even an Xbox (unfortunately we didn't get to make the most of this but that was due to an energetic 14 month old who needed entertaining!!). I loved the welcome pack of jam, marmalade, fudge and biscuits. Also there were beautiful smelling soaps in the bathroom, which Pudding Cottage have made especially for them. The location of the cottage was perfect, being in a courtyard of other cottages. It was lovely to have close neighbours. The cottage is convenient for both ambleside and Bowness. There is complimentary use of the leisure facilities at Low Wood Hotel and we used the swimming pool a number of times. This was thoroughly enjoyable. The cottage is directly across the road from Brockholes Visitors Centre and this was brilliant as it had a play and learn (soft play area) for our little boy and we went on a lake cruise from there too. We liked the large table in the kitchen for family meals best.
“Fabulous location and fabulous place to stay”
We decided to stay at Pudding Cottage for our week in the Lakes this year. What attracted us to this accommodation in particular, apart from the location, was how well equipped it was for families and we really were not disappointed. As those travelling with young children will be only too aware you never remember everything and this cottage provides everything from children's cutlery and swimming aids to a play station. We found the accommodation to be very comfortable and well equipped, the communal grassed area to the rear of the property was great to relax on after a long day walking. The owners were most helpful both before our holiday as well as when we were there, very prompt with all replies. The jewel in the crown was the location being across the road from the Brockholes visitor centre where you can take boat trips across the lake meaning you can go out for the whole day with taking the car, simply bliss. We would definitely return to Pudding Cottage if we didn't have a dog who has now joined the family, it has everything for a great holiday for those lake lovers out there who need the close proximity to 'things to do' for the children.
