“A great apartment surpassed only by its superb location”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

Working with Carsten Sprotte of Parissharing was a real pleasure; he was helpful, informative and always there when we had any questions. The apartment on rue de Sevigne was ideally located for local explorations of the Marais and surrounding neighborhoods. For traveling farther afield in Paris, it's an easy two-block walk to the Metro number 1 train at Saint-Paul, or another three blocks or so toward the Seine and catch the number 7 at Pont Marie; or a 10-minute walk from the apartment to the Place Bastille for a wide variety of Metro connections. We thought the apartment is perfect for two people. It's well-designed and efficiently laid out, although entertaining for a larger group is not recommended. The kitchen is sleek and very well thought out but small: a two-burner cooktop with a combination microwave-conventional oven (also small). The bathroom is incredibly spacious and the large heated towel rack and shelf was a real help in drying clothes (there is a washer); and there is plenty of storage. We thought the bed a bit uncomfortable. There is a heating system, although we never used it. I don't know if a/C is available or not so it would be wise to ask if you're planning on visiting in July or august. The apartment is well-soundproofed and, in typical Parisian style, there are heavy drapes over the windows to keep you in nearly totally darkness if you need it. Internet connection was quick and easy -- the wifi is ready to go with just the addition of the household password. Ethernet connection is also available but there is no cable for that. Phone and TV were both available but we hardly used the former and didn't use the latter at all. After all, I don't come to Paris to watch television; do you?

“Designed with care and love; excellent customer service”

We booked Le Sévigné apartment for a 3-day stay in Paris. The apartment was lovely, extremely tastefully appointed. Everything worked fine. We were welcomed by Elise who took excellent care of us during our entire stay. Both she and the owner were available whenever we had any questions or needed help. Any future Jewish renters might be interested in the fact that the apartment is literally two minutes' walk away from a functioning Chabad synagogue and an excellent Kosher falafel place, kosher deli, and kosher bakery. We highly recommend both the location and the customer service.

“Best Location in Le Marais...”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2012

First of all we want to thank Carsten for being so patient and helpful and best of all a great and friendly host. Words can begin to describe the convenience of location for this rental, great neighborhood, restaurants (visit chez janou and cafe des muses), bars (one across the street), and shopping. There's a metro station less than two minutes away so you can get anywhere in Paris. The left bank is a 10 to 15 minute walk my wife and I walked everywhere while in Paris except for a few occasions when we took cabs (by the way there's a cab station by the the metro). Then rental itself was very nice, clean and modern. The coffee maker is real easy to use, as is the dishwasher and washer.. The apartment itself is a fairly good size perfect for couples. The neighbors are friendly as well. For small grocery shopping there's a G20 market, a couple of good bakeries and a really good cheese shop on rue de rivoli which is the main road from the apartment. Well there are some many other good things about the apartment and its location, all in all it made our visit to paris more convenient and super fun. A bientot.

“Comfortable apartment, great location in Paris”

Terrific location in the Marais 2 blocks from the St. Paul metro stop. Pari-sharing was great to work with - very helpful and very accommodating. They were flexible about meeting us at the apartment, showing us around, and similarly flexible about leaving. The apartment was as advertised; small but well appointed and well maintained. We were there during april; with the windows closed at night, there was no problem with noise. However, even though it's on a small street, it can be noisy till 1 or 2am. During the summer that might be of concern. Other than that, I have no hesitation to recommend the apartment and the rental agency.

“Super location, well furnished, cozzy and lovely!”

We were there in the cold feb, but luckily we got sun most of the days we are there... the apartment is super well located that is like 2 mins walk from st. paul and it got all the fashion and food specialized stores in walking distance as well as lots of crepeterie, cafes and so on... in the meantime the apartment is quiet, warm and cozzy...we had a great time there!

“Marais”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2011

We found this company really easy to deal with. They were responsive and efficient in dealing with our enquiries both before we booked and after we arrived. It was a charming, comfortable little flat (although small), with all useful amenities and in a great location. The only 2 drawbacks were that the shower could flood the bathroom if you weren't careful and that there is a very noisy bar opposite, which seems to spill into the street on the hot summer nights we were there, with the noise floating up to make sleep difficult.

Response from the manager There was indeed a problem with the shower leaking between the glass doors. This has since been repaired. The bar across the street can be noisy at night. This is only an issue in the summer when the windows are left open. Otherwise, the windows effectively block out the sound of the street.

“The Perfect Place tp Stay in Paris”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2011

Everything about my 12 night stay was wonderful. The apartment is very well designed, both functionally and the decor. There are large windows and lots of light. The location is great - near Voges, a short walk to the Centre Pompidou, and right off the Rue du Rivoli for food shopping. That is also where Metro line #1 is, which runs across Paris and connects easily to other lines. Dealing with Carsten, who runs the company you rent from, is a pleasure. He's american, so communication is easy, and a very nice, well organized, guy. He carried my small suitcase up the three winding flights to the apart,ENT and back down again, at a horribly early hour of the morning. Not only did I love being in the Marais because it is a great place to wander but also because, despite the many tourists who visit, it is one of the least commercialized areas in Paris. Sure, it is filled with stores - but not the type of cheap restaurants and tourist trinket shops that have overtaken too many formerly wonderful neighborhoods. If you are kosher, this is a short walk to Rue Roisers, which is filled with kosher restaurants - and, on Sundays, an amazing number of Parisians standing on the street devouring large, excellent falafel pita. For everyone else, it is a reminder of the Marais Jewish roots. So...if you want to feel like you live in Paris, in a very fashionable area, at a very reasonable price, stay here.

“Beautiful, well-designed and modern appartment”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2011

The highlight of our ten days in Paris was our apartment in the Marias. It was beautifully appointed and modern and yet very cozy. I've never seen such an efficient use of space. The kitchen provided everything you would need in a relatively small space and the bath was large and modern. Incorporating a separate bedroom and an additional half bath made this apartment ideal. The location is on a quiet side street, but just a block north of St. Paul's Cathedral and lots of restaurants and shops. We will certainly stay there again when we return to Paris!

“Fabulous location, excellent customer service”

The Marais is a great place to stay, and this well-appointed, compact apartment is just a few minutes' walk from metro St. Paul. I really appreciated the genuinely friendly and helpful customer service that Paris Sharing provided. I highly recommend this or any of their apartments.
