100% Weiterempfehlung.
“Perfect Haven of Tranquility in a busy City”
We stayed At Srivastava Inn, as a family of 4 with two infant children from August 2014 until March 2015 with a one month break in between in October 2014. First of all Coralie was the first point of contact, prior to booking, she helped with so many queries as we had young babies and needed to know this would be the right place. She gave plenty of information and we booked. We were met by Sigrun the gracious owner upon arrival and we were also introduced to the staff, Ashok the front door and main security guard, who brought our several bags up without asking for a tip, and Laxman the fabulous cook and his wife Toru, who deals with the daily housekeeping. What can I say? We were treated so well we hardly realised we were in a B & B, we were treated like family and had plenty of space and independence whilst at the same time, if we had any problems or worries, Sigrun and Coralie were there to help. As this was a long stay we did get a discounted rate which was fabulous. The food is excellent. Breakfasts are generous and if there was anything in particular that took our fancy Laxman made it his job to make sure we had it. If we wanted evening meals or lunches these were cooked freshly and again Laxman went to such efforts to go and buy special ingredients for our meals. Everyone treated our children as if they were their own and we just felt so safe and relaxed. The area where this place is is in GK2 centrally located and safe to go out and walk around. If there was anything we wanted and couldn't get out because of looking after the kids, Ashok was happy to go and buy stuff for us. The place itself is spotlessly clean and our room was cleaned daily. We actually stayed in both rooms, the bigger one without the balcony and also the balcony room, both lovely with nice big bathrooms. We thoroughly recommend this place to anyone. In fact relations who have been visiting India have stayed there on our recommendation and if we ever return to India this will be our only choice for accommodation in Delhi as it is so much nicer than impersonal hotels and the privacy and security aspects which are so paramount when travelling with children are very good. We always felt safe. The other members of staff were also lovely, the gardener who looked after all the plants and Tangier the other security person was also very helpful. Local amenities include a gym 5 minutes walk down the road, lots of shops and a hospital opposite plus a few parks to choose from. Thoroughly recommended.
“Comfortable stay, away from the caos”
Our family of four spent three nights at the Srivastav B&B; in mid December. Sigrun is very knowledgeable and assisted us with maps, directions and everthing else we needed for our daily planning, including taxi's. Delhi was the last leg of our tour and having been sick on arrival, they were very kind in organising appropriate food. The location is ideal for South Dehlhi shopping and sight seeing and 30 minutes from the international airport. The B&B; is very close to popular eateries to dine in or take away. Most of all we liked the family feel of the place and the kind hospitality. On the down side was having to climb a couple of flights to stairs which although didn't bother us, would be a challenge for some. If you need to get to New Delhi in a hurry - it is bit of a treck with the Delhi traffic.
Response from the owner Thank you for the wonderful review, Mrs. Srivastav loves living in Delhi and introducing guests to the culture, art, music and the diverse historic sights of Delhi, looking forward to seeing you again
“amazing bed and breakfast”
Sigrun is the perfect host. She is very helpful and friendly, without being too invasive. We immediately felt at home at this beautiful apartment in the posh locality of GK 1. The market is right around the corner, with plenty of shops and restaurants. It is also very safe. The breakfast was perfect - with a wide variety of choices. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Response from the owner Thank you so much for the excellent review, hope to see you again soon
“A Remarkable Introduction to India and Delhi”
We can't thank Sigrun enough. This was our first visit to India. Sigrun was the Loveliest of Hostesses. She truly made our first visit remarkable! She helped to prioritize the sites to see, transportation to use, and restaurants to dine in. Her help with our cell phones and Simm cards was a relief. She recommended a musical recital and a photography exhibit that we loved. She made us feel like a good friend and made our stay extraordinary. We loved walking in Jahanpanah City Park and found it very easy to take a taxi or TukTuk anywhere we wanted to go. We felt very comfortable in the area. We have the warmest regards for Sigrun and her daughter Coralie with whom we planned our trip but did not meet because she was out of the country.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind words and glowing review, Sigrun was very touched when she read it, we are glad you enjoyed the remainder of your trip and we hope you will come back to India and stay with us again soon
“It's always a pleasure staying at Srivaatav.Inn”
This was my third time at this wonderful, home like, caring, helpful, extremely comfortable bed and breakfast. I stayed for a month this time. Impossible to match. I will stay here again on my next annual trip as long as they have accomodations available.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for your recommendation, it was a pleasure having you stay with us again and looking forward to your next visit
“Caring homestay in impersonal city !”
We stayed at the srivastava inn in gk 2 Delhi for 5 days in late may and early jun 2013. Visiting after a gap of over 15 years some of the intimidation of the city was neutralised by our wonderful stay at the inn - smooth entrance, supercool room and service at beck and call. The inn has the unmistakeable signs of Sigrun's (the proprietrix) grace - a wonderfully appointed drawing and dining area and a very efficient kitchen. Food choices, everything made freshly to order, includes the best continental and indian - and served at the time the guest requires. And the staff are amazing - Lakhan and his wife, Ashok - i do not have enough words to write in their praise. Am sure to go back in my next visit, in Dec 2013.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for your review, it feels wonderful to be appreciated so much, looking forward to having you stay with us again
“Feeling at home abroad”
If you are looking for a place where you can recover from the strenuous Delhi city life, just stay at Srivastav Inn. You will find a cozy, loving atmosphere. Sigrun and Coralie will take care of you and answer all your questions most thoroughly, and you will never get such a good breakfast as the one Lakshman do. Do not hesitate, you will certainly don't regret it.I enjoyed every day being there. Thank you forthe way you have taken care of me.I hope I will see you again on my next journey to India.Warmest regards from Susana.
“Comfortable, Clean, Safe, Perfect 5+ B&B; *Highly Recommended*”
My family stayed at Srivastav Inn for 3 weeks. We had 5 adults and one toddler in our party. We rented both rooms & were very comfortable. We could not have picked a better place! Everything was perfect-- clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and safe. This was our first trip to India and we were a little nervous when booking our lodging. We wanted to have more space than we would have in a hotel room plus finding a safe place was very important. This B&B; exceeded our expectations to say the least! Ms. Srivastav and her daughter, Coarlie, went above and beyond to help us. They took care of arranging our taxi daily and helped find out more information on places we wanted to visit. They even ordered our take out food for us when we ate in! They were very knowledgable and we really enjoyed the restaurants and places they recommended. The cook prepared a delicious, hot breakfast every morning. His omelets are amazing-- we're missing them already! We had to leave very early one morning and the cook came early and prepared our breakfast before we had to leave. Our baby loved bananas so they made sure to always have some on hand for him! The maid was wonderful. We brought weeks worth of clothes with us and she took care of all our washing and ironing. It was a huge help and nice convenience to have. There is a guard out front all the time. He was also very kind and helpful. We wanted to order take out from a restaurant, but did not have a menu. The guard went down to the restaurant and brought a menu back within just a few minutes. I cannot praise this group of people enough-- everyone was so helpful, easy going, and accommodating! This place is very special! We could have not been luckier to find Srivastav inn. We will always stay here when visiting India. Ms. Srivastav, Coarlie, & all the Staff, Thank you for making our stay so perfect! We miss you all dearly & hope to see you again soon!
“An elegant and artistic stay!”
I arrived very late at night on the first day, and I didn't know until the next morning that Mrs. Srivastav was a sculptor as well as a children's book writer and illustrator! We had a nice and exciting chat that morning while I was enjoying my delicious breakfast prepared by Srivastav Inn. Though I didn't stay there for long which was just one night, I still received the biggest and the warmest welcome from Mrs. Srivastav and her daughter, they even invited me for a dinner back there at my last night in New Delhi. It was such a wonderful start and end of my first trip in India, to know the people, to know the culture, and to know the very gentle heart of this country.
