“Above and beyond”
Simone was fantastic! We came here with two little girls and she had the place prepared with toys for them when we arrived. She was quick to reply when we had any questions while we were there. This apartment is in a great location close to many great sights by foot or public transportation. The apartment has everything you could think of and if not, Simone was a quick call away for us. The only negative thing that we found was that the small bedroom was quite cold and the portable heaters for the room were loud. Overall, this is an excellent apartment for the price and the hosts are fantastic!
Apartment is in a good location with close access to metro. Apartment was clean and comfortable and Simone was very helpful with anything we needed! Great stay, would definitely stay again!
“A bit disappointed with the apartment”
Apartment is fairly smaller than you can see on photos. In a bedrood there is not enough space even to easily go through the room to the window (smaller bed would suites better for that room size). In the toilet it is a problem to correctly sit to a lavatory pan (you can do it only if you lean to the wall) - not enough space as well. The apartment does not get enough of day light, basically you can't even see if the sun is shining or not - all windows looks to the shadowy yard / other windows. The neighbours around are very noisy. Until midnight you can hear the loud music playing / talks / shouts and sounds from other kitchens. The area in overall seemed to be save although we think mostly poor people are living there. The quality of water coming to the apartment is bad (the same in the whole area?). It contains much of chlorine (you should boil it before you drink it, but even that does not help to full extent). All these are for a high rent price - around 100e / night. Positive: kitchen is in a good condition, every device there worked well. Kindly apartment' owners - reply on emails / requests fast, explains how everything works in the apartment. Provide you with printings with maps and instructions how to get to different locations in Barcelona.
Response from the owner I am sorry for your mediocre experience in our apartment, but I must say that I cannot understand most of your points of criticism: - the size of the apartment is clearly mentioned in the apartment description (60 sqm) so I don't see how there can be room for misunderstanding here... - smaller bed would suit better: this is a king size bed (2x2 meters) and I tend to believe that our guests enjoy it. - the quality of the tap water: it is safe, drinkable water, it's true that it doesn't taste the same as in a village in the Pyrenees so most Barcelonians consume bottled water, but this tap water is the same water as in the rest of the city, five-star hotels included. Nothing we or other apartment owners can do about this... - noisy neighbours: when you rent an apartment in a city, as opposed to booking a hotel room, you become a neighbor in the full meaning for a few days, which is what apartment renters usualy love about it, but it also exposes you to an eventual loud neighbor, for instance. - This apartment is very central, and central areas, at least in Barcelona, are not the most affluent in the city. Poble Sec in particular is a popular and young neighborhood, but it is very safe, in my opinion the only safe district downtown...! - I don't know whether approx. 100 EUR per night for 3 guests is expensive per se, but if you filter per price the apartments in Barcelona listed here at Flipkey.com, you'll see that this is one of the most competitives price wise... There are other options at Flipkey that cost more, even 2 or 3 times more, and probably provide more square meters and are located in more affluent areas, far from the touristic attractions. But knowing the city and its rental business I know for sure that we deliver high value for money. I know that ca. 100 EUR per night for 3 guests is a highly competitive rate. I agree that the apartment does not get lots of light. But the rest of your negative opinions seem to me either unfair or simply unrelated to the apartment. All things considered, I believe that your review has more to do with wrong expectations than with the apartment itself. I can assure you that every other guest has been given the keys to the same apartment we are discussing here, but probably they had more accurate expectations. However I appreciate your remarks on our attentions as owners.
“affordable apt close to metro”
This was a great place for us to stay during our short trip in Barcelona. It was easy working with Miquel and Simone. The place was the right size for the 4 of us. Just a short walk to the metro and walking distance to Las Ramblas.
“super aparment with great location”
this apartment is by really good location, nearby metro station and with large rooms. the only weakness is, you can't see sunshine in the rooms. but for our tourists it's not a big problem, we stay most time in the city.
it's a very cosy flat, with all we need, close to center of barcelona waling or 1 stop m?tro , its very quiet place no noise and nice flat, Simone is a very nice person and i will certainly come back to barcelona and to this cosy flat :)
“what we could expect for this price”
everything was okay. only the toilet was to close to the wall for me because I am nearly 2.00 m long.
“Nice place, great location.”
We found the apartment very convenient and well kept. As other reviewers mentioned, the only downsides are a lack of natural light, and a cramped bathroom. Since we were out all day the light was not a problem for us. Price and location were great.
“Great value, good location and overall great experience!”
Check-in was a breeze, the apartment was clean, cozy, and in a wonderful location, just 2 stops from placa catalunya. It is a great location for exploration and on nights where you don't want to trek out, Poble Sec is a great neighborhood to be in. La Bella Napoli, Quimet & Quimet, and Zodiac are just a few highlights.
Very nice owners, exellent appartment. We had a very good stay
