“All you could ask for!”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2015

We just spent a week in Cynthia's condo the second week of July. It was everything you can read below....I will not go over it all simply has everything you need for an enjoyable trip. The fact that this is not just a vacation rental for the owners, but it is THEIR get-away place means it is well-stocked. The only other thing I wish to add is we cannot emphasize enough its central location. Maui is split into two distinct parts and the location of this condo is right in the middle, making travel to anything on the island easy. You can go the 8 miles north to get into town for anything you need to buy; you can head south into the wonderful towns of Kihei and Wailea for what they have to offer; and you can head northwest, around the mountain to Lahiana and surrounding towns. Believe me, this is vital because of all there is to do in these areas. We wore these roads OUT every day as we bounced around from activity to activity. And if you don't want to travel.....we had some very enjoyable experiences at some of the local businesses; making friends at the aquarium with the employees and at Beach Bums. Be careful....Beach Bums has some dangerous mai is NEVER enough.....along with very friendly regulars always hanging out at the bar. Lastly, the location allows for a nice island breeze to blow through the condo, whether it comes from the north between the mountains or off the harbor. Wonderful!

Response from the owner Thanks for taking the time to write after your Maui trip. I'm so glad you enjoyed the condo and found all you needed. My Maui agent and I take great pleasure in our guests having a wonderful vacation. And I'm glad we were able to work it out to get you in the condo early, since you had a morning flight to Maui. I hope you with return to your "tropical home" sometime for another visit.

“Best 25th Anniversary Trip Ever!”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2015

I have always wanted to visit Hawaii. I can't believe it took 25 years to do it. We have traveled some on cruises and all-inclusive vacations to name a few. Hawaii was a trip that had to be well thought out and saved for. After looking at package deals and nothing really jumping out at me I stumbled upon flipkey and started looking at condos. I kept going back to Cynthia's condo. There was only 2 of us but it being a 2nd bedroom was fine with us. My husband was thrilled with my choice. All I can really say is that the pictures really don't do it justice. The condo is so centrally located to EVERYTHING! We drove around to the North Shore and of course did the road to Hana. Visited Lahaina and ate the best seafood everyday. We went horseback riding at Mendez Ranch and rode down the mountain and galloped back up it. We kayaked and snorkeled with giant turtles at Makena Landing. Take the small tour with Maui Kayak Adventures. We have snorkeled before with the large tour groups and I can't express enough how wonderful it was with 4 people and one guide. And he took all the underwater pics and gave them to us for free. I was worried a bit at first about the condo not being air-conditioned. I shouldn't have. The unit is a corner unit and when you open all the sliding doors and windows there is a wonderful cross breeze and you didn't need it at all. Cynthia has everything you need to travel to the beach, up to Haleakala (warm clothes), coolers, chairs. It just was our home away from home. I really liked not being at a hotel. The small beach right outside the condo was private. Sugar Beach was a short walk away and also very private. Would I recommend this condo? Absolutely! I only wish we had come earlier to see whales.

Response from the owner I am thrilled that you had such a special anniversary trip! You certainly know how to pack in the fun. Reading all about it made me wish we had been there at the same time. It is wonderful that you gave some very specific tips to other guests. The guide books in the condo and my own write-ups of things to do in Maui give guests suggestions, but I always love getting the personal tips that guests write in the Guest Book. Thank you for sharing your experiences. And don't wait 25 years to return!! - Aloha, Cynthia

“amazing owner”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2014

We had this condo booked for a week in February 2014. We had a family issue that prevented us from traveling, and Cynthia was very, very understanding. She refunded our deposit (which we were not expecting), and was very quick with responses when we were in the planning stage of our vacation. She helped us find a condo in the same complex for my parents, and was truly just a pleasure to work with. We only hope that we can make the trip in 2015.

Response from the owner I appreciate your kind, and unexpected review! To take the time to put up a review when you didn't even get to be here is exceptional! I was so sorry that you all were not able to come because you had been so excited in the months since last May when you booked. We had so many conversations by email about your plans and you kept adding days to your reservation, which was rather delightful. I do hope you will get to live this Maui Dream soon!

“Great location, Great place, and a front row seat for whale watc”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2013

In March 2013 we stayed at Cynthia's Maalaea Bay Condo and had an outstanding relaxing time. The location is perfect, the condo is very nice, and the views are fantastic. You can sit and watch the boats coming and going from the marina but even more impressive was the ability to view whales just about all day long. We did not miss a sunrise viewing the whales. If you are looking for a relaxing location with a pool on site, a beach a short walk away, and views you will never forget, then this is a place you will want to stay. If there were any short falls it would be that we did not stay long enough. Dining, a general store and Whale watching tours are less than a 5 minute walk from the condo.

Response from the owner I am so pleased that you enjoyed the condo and your experiences there. When we can't be in this "second home" we live vicariously through our guests there! You have fantastic pictures here that you are sharing with the readers and thank you for giving permission for me to use a double whale breach photo on the website. What an extremely rare event to see, and to think that you took the photos from the condo lanai! I will look forward to you booking a return visit. -Cynthia

“Best Vacation ever!!!”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2013

This condo was perfect for the 4 of us, myself, my husband and our 2 grown children. It is well equipped with everything we needed including beach items and snorkling gear. It is clean and well maintained and the owner Cynthia is the best. The packet of information she sent gave us all the information we needed and she even called when we arrived to ensure everything was as expected. It was centrally located so nothing was to far away, and several things (shopping, restaurants, snorkeling boats) are within walking distance. The little store right next door has everything you could need and the prices are very reasonable. The condo is located right next to Maaalea Harbor so if you sleep with the master bedroom window open as we did you will be woken up pretty early. It was not a problem for us but if you plan to sleep in, you will need to close the window. The beds are very comfortable, in fact we slept better there than we do at home. There is no air conditioning but we really didn't need it. The weather is perfect and there are nice breezes coming off the ocean. It does tend to get windy but that just helps to keep it cool and the way the condo sits, you can sit on the lanai and hear and see the wind but you don't get blasted by it. The views are amazing and you can sit on the lanai and look out over the ocean for hours. I highly recommend the aqua adventure boat for snorkeling. It is a small boat and only takes 35 people out to Molokini so you get personal service and the crew is very nice. I also recommend Piilholo Ranch Zip line. The crew there was amazing and it is clear that they love their jobs. I can't wait to go back to Maui. Hopefully for whale watching next time. Thank You Cynthia for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. I hope we get to do it again real soon

“Wonderful View”

First time we have vacationed renting a condo and have to say it was great. This condo is stocked with everything you need and is so comfortable. The view was wonderful.Enjoyed watching the boats in and out of the marina. Cynthia was great to deal with and I would highly recommend her condo.

“This is my new "happy place"”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2012

No matter how much research done before traveling, one never knows exactly what to expect. This wonderful condo does not disappoint. The views, living spaces, and area all combine to soothe your senses. You are indeed in someone else's home, and Cynthia has made sure you have everything you need. We loved it all; the feeling you are among real people gets even better when you walk (a very short distance) over to the Harbor Village, eat at Beach Bums, take the bus around Maui (bus stop just across the street from whale-watching boats), and shop the local crafts show in the Village. This is a great place for kids and adults. We whale-watched, rode the entire North Shore in a rental car (fun, but hairy), went to Lahaina, saw the "Ulalena" show, rode to Hana and returned the "back way", and this condo was the perfect launching point for all of these junkets. Thank you, Richardsons, and thank goodness we found you! We stayed in a resort on our last trip to Maui, and didn't get the local flavor we found within a day of visiting your island home. Mahalo

I was so lucky to have found this condo via Flipkey, I was also very lucky to have met the owners. The condo was beautifully kept and felt just like home it was also well equipped for the beach there was plenty of informative books and paperwork and we managed to do some of the walks and try out some of the recommended restaurants. It made our holiday that much more pleasurable.Thank you so much.

“the perfect start to our lives together”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2011

My Husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it ended up being just the ticket for two mainlanders who wanted to really see and explore paradise. The condo is perfectly located to get to any of the other main areas of the island which for two first timers was a huge benefit. Every morning we woke up with the sun rising over Maalaea bay. We loved how it was situated right next to the main port for most of the aquatic tours and managed to go on a whale watching tour. We loved all the suggestions from the owners and were never once steered wrong by their advice. We much perfered this over a standard hotel stay not just because of the privacy and homey feel of this condo but because of all the non-traditoinal amenities it offered: there were flippers, and snorkel masks, beach blankets and chairs, but then there was also the full kitchen and our favorite (and one of the many thoughtful touches by the owners) was the set of sweatpants for use if you wanted to see a sunrise or set from the top of the volcano! It really is a perfect laid back piece of paradise and we hope to go back one day soon!

We loved staying here for our 2 week vacation. The beds were very comfortable and the views were spectacular. We would not hesitate to book this condo again. We like this area because it is centrally located. The owner was very helpful and friendly with great recommendations. We felt right at home and just loved hanging out on the lani. It was everything that was promised in the listing and more. Would return in a heart beat!
