“Best View in Lake Como”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2013

It was the best vacation spot we ever had...the view, accommodations, and mostly the owners Eric and Robin. We swam in Lake Como every day...relaxed by the sandy beach area...and enjoyed the evenings sunsets lake side with the new friends we made at the Villas. I give it the best rating...just need to know that there are spiral staircases to the second floor bedroom and bath...in case you have a difficult time with stairs...we loved the first-floor and second-floor bistro tables to enjoy our meals and the view.

“Small paradise with a devil way in”

Very nice place to stay but the access is terrible and dangerous. Very nice view on the lake anc nice place to swimm. However when you arrive with there is a terrible narrow private road to go to the parking area. The slope is probably around 30% and it turn two times. Your brakes are just sufficient to go safely down and your engine just sufficient when the gear is in the first speed. Thye flat is very nice but the private stairway to go to the room is veru narrow. Eric the owner is very nice and help as much as possible.

Response from the manager Thank you for your kind review and comments. Lake Como is situated on terraced hills and has narrow roads to navigate . We have a steep driveway to the car park as most places on the lake do, but is manageable . We do suggest that if one has mobility issues, it may be best to stay in downtown Como Centro ,as anywhere else around the lake will have steps and will have curved drives as well as terraced terrain. There is a lift from the gardens to the car park, in the garden area as well as some steps and a spiral staircase in the villettas, from the main floor that brings you to the second level . If one has mobility issues, one may want to consider staying in a Como Centro Hotel , that is all on one level with lift. We also have many guests who have stayed with mobility issues and have really enjoyed being on the waterfront . Of course each situation is unique and different. Please ask if you have any questions. Thank you. Eric and Robin Lake Como Beach Resort Villas.

“Great stay on lake Como”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2013

My wife and baby son had a great week at Lake Como Beach Resort. The villas are clean and well appointed, the location is fantastic and Eric and Robin are great hosts. There's a great little shop nearby for supplies with an excellent meat and cheese counter - and plenty more besides. The ferry stop is just a short walk away too for trips out - but relaxing and enjoying the superb lake views from the lawn or sunbeds is a great way to spend time. If the water is warm enough - a swim in the lake is recommended too.

“Beautiful place and great people”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2012

Lake Como is a beautiful place and the Lake Como Beach Resort is a great place to stay. The first morning we were there Eric the owner met us at our door, took us to the local grocery store to help us get supplies and introduce us and supplied us with maps going everything that there was to see and where they were located. It was this personal service that made the stay so special. Eric also helped us with bus and train times, getting to Switzerland, and helped us get to an out of the way restaurant that he suggested. The restaurant, Ristorante Bellavista, was amazing. Eric did all this despite the fact his wife was in the hospital with a broken pelvis. The rooms are clean with plenty of space. The views are amazing from the porch or second story balcony. There are grills and plenty of outdoor tables that we took advantage of for a one of a kind barbequing as Lake Como as our back drop. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places on earth and you can't go wrong staying at Lake Como Beach Resort. Thank you Eric for making our honeymoon so enjoyable.

“A Wedding in Paradise!”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

On September 2nd, 2012 we celebrated our dream wedding on Lake Como at the Lake Como Beach Resort. Planning a wedding in Italy all the way from Canada didn't seem like an easy task but with the help of Robin and Eric it was possible and we can't thank them enough. They went above and beyond for us and we are privileged to now call them our friends! Our family and friends all stayed at the Beach Resort during "wedding week" and we all agreed it was the perfect place to stay. We spent six weeks in Europe and the villettas were by far our favorite; comfortable beds, spacious rooms, breathtaking views, amazing grounds and everything was extremely clean. We can't wait to go back and we have already began to recommend it to everyone we speak to. It was more like home than a holiday! Grazie mille to Eric, Robin and Jiselle! :)

“We found this rental challenging”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

We found access to this property very difficult whether you were driving or using public transport. The accommodation was fairly basic. The pictures on the website are beautiful but the accomodation didn't live up to the expectations they gave .There is no air conditioning in the villettes although some had fans and some did not . It would be better if provision within the properties was consistent. The heat gave us some very uncomfortable sleepless nights. The narrow spiral staircase access to the bedroom within the villette was extremely difficult to negotiate with luggage. I have a number of bruises to prove it. We would consider this rental is not suitable for young children given access issues to the property, within the property and access to the lake which was off a pontoon. Eric the owner was very helpful and would tried all in his power to make your stay comfortable but the issues identified above would mean we would not consider this property again.

Response from the manager Thank you, we appreciate your review. If I may bring some clarity to this: There are a myriad of compelling reasons to stay at LCBR. The villettas *are* directly on the Lake Como waterfront as stated. However, Lake Como is surrounded by mountains, and in order to reach the waterfront, one must have access. We do have our own private parking area and elevator. There are few accommodations on the lake with direct waterfront access and still fewer with a lido and boat dock to sun bath or swim. Eric is on site daily to check on all of the guests. The owner and staff of LCBR are always willing to help with any and all needs; from carrying your luggage to and from the villetta, to information on traveling the lake. Although we do not have A/C (and do not claim to) we do have fans, top linens, full kitchens as well as clean and beautifully decorated villettas. We do our absolute best to make our guests happy and 99.9% of our reviews clearly prove this. We are a 'self-catering' establishment and not a hotel. Unfortunately, in rare circumstances, there are the occasional customers that we cannot please. We do, however, appreciate all feedback and will continue to do our best to improve our establishment over time. - The LCBR Staff

“The perfect honeymoon”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2011

We chose Lake Como Beach resort as our honeymooon destination based on the location and the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. From the very first contact with the owners, Eric and Robin, it was nothing but a positive experience. We could not have chosen a better place as the villas are lovely and very tastefully done with all the equipment you could want. Also the setting was just perfect for what we wanted as is right on the waterfront and away from the busier more touristy towns, but still very easy to reach these via the ferry stop a 5min walk away and the buses that run through the village. The views from the villa balcony and the waterside are incredible and we whiled away many an evening sat with a glass of wine simply soaking up the surroundings. Eric and Robin are simply the best hosts anyone could possibly hope to meet, taking the time to help with booking restaurants, boat hire, negotiating the transport timetables...etc. They are so friendly and helpful and do everything possible to ensure their guests have an excellent time. Thank you both and, of course, to Giselle. In short we are so happy we chose Lake Como Beach resort for our honeymoon destination. It is the perfect setting, with perfect hosts and we met some lovely families and other couples whilst we were there. Thank you again Eric, Robin and Giselle - you guys are awesome!

Response from the manager Thank you for the awesome review. It is guests such as yourselves that make our job so rewarding. We are so happy that you had a wonderful Honeymoon with us. We look forward to your return!

“Charming Little Resort on the Waterfront !”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2011

We arrived tired from our long journey. Eric and his helper assisted us with our bags from the parking areas to to our villetta which was so appreciated as there is no other holiday rental that does that. He then took us into the amazing grounds and gardens and showed the views and explained everything to us and to make sure that we had gone grocery shopping. We walked up to the nearby store and fetched some essentials. The walk was invigorating and fun. The locals were very helpful and we stocked up with all we needed fotr the week. Eric was just wonderful, he gave us the grand tour and made us feel right at home. After a few minutes of unwinding from our long trip we had a glass of local wine and began relaxing and realizing what an amazing this resort really was. The setting is breathtaking and the grounds beautiful. Our villetta was just about perfect with the most gorgeous views from the balcony, main floor and second level. The villa was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Beautifully decorated and the sheets and towels were sofeter than soft. It was heaven ! This little resort in the village of Pognana Lario on Lake Como was tucked away from all the tourist traps which was exactly what we were looking for. Close enough but yet far enough away so one can relax and come back down to earth. The restaurants are within walking distance about 5 minutes away on foot and others within a 5 minute car ride- perfect for us. We also used the ferry to get around which was very convenient to the villettas. We cannot say enough good things about this exclusive resort. The owners Eric and Robin were like family and catering to all their guests needs all day and night long. Quite amazing people, very kind and giving. Even going out of thir way to pick up some medicine at the local pharmacy. Nothing was too much to ask. Exceptional hosts. Our favourite places to visit on the lake were Villa Carlotta & Villa Balbienello. Magnificent holiday !
