“Spent three weeks in Paradise”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2011

My husband and I spent three weeks here in 2007 and loved it. The pictures are not an exaggeration. The pristine clear, calm waters are really that close. There is decent snorkeling off of Morne Rouge and we even swam from here south three bays to eat lunch down the coast. The diving in Grenada is phenomenal and we took advantage of it. We used a dive shop on Grand anse but there is one in Morne Rouge at the resort right down the hill. The walk from Mahogany run to Grand anse is ten to fifteen minutes and takes you by a small mall where you can pick up lunch and fresh fruit before heading to the larger beach. We loved eating lunch at the open air medical school cafeteria after a couple of morning dives. You can't beat the price and location. While Grand anse is a spectacular beach with a great view of St. George's up the coast, we preferred Morne Rouge for its calm waters and lack of tourists. Fish Friday in Guoyave is not to be missed. We were both working via computer while there and found it easy to get fedex to the states, printing etc. The accommodations are fantastic. The aC is wonderful. The west indies soaps and plush robes provided in the spa-like showers and bath are a complete luxury. When we were there, there was not air conditioning in the kitchen, but this was only an issue when it was very, very humid at night (only a few days out of almost a month of being there). There is a grocery store up and down the hill and a couple of places to eat and drink nearby, some are elegant and others have a local feel with crab races certain nights, also not to be missed.
